About Stephen Blatteis
Hola, I'm a semi-retired classroom teacher. I've not only taught in the California Bay Area, but I've been extremely fortunate to have taught in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Ecuador. I love sports, both playing and watching. I love to swim, and especially enjoy swimming in Banderas Bay.
Stephen Blatteis purchased this Condo in 2018
Why Stephen Blatteis chose South Shore Hotel Area
I walked in, saw the view and had trouble looking away. I was captivated and mesmerized almost immediately by the incredible view of the city and bay. The property itself, the location, the old style architecture and the terrace were just too much to pass up.
What makes this Condo unique
It's quiet up on Hotensias street. The walk up to the property is not always easy after a day at the beach, but I love the challenge of walking those steps. Walking down to Subway, and then turning left, you can take the tram down to the beach. Or more importantly, take the tram back up the hill.

Wow what a view!
Today our party of five departed from this property. We all agreed that this is a great place to stay with every amenity we could want from the kitchen stocked with coffee and spices to the jacuzzi tub. The bedrooms, bathrooms and indoor living areas are all spacious and beautifully furnished. The deck with both lounging shade and sun and enough room for us all to visit while watching the sunsets , fireworks and day to day activity in the bay was breathtaking. As mentioned in other reviews, the hill and stairs are manageable but if you have a mobility issues, you’ll need a cab or an Uber to drop you off at the door. Will we stay again if given the opportunity? Absolutely!!
Sure! Thank you for the nice review! You are welcome back anytime.
Fabulous view condo
This condo was exactly as described. Outstanding view from the oversized balcony and from the master bedroom. Within walking distance to the Malecon. Only major drawback was the steep hill up to the condo and lots of stairs. If that doesn't bother you, you will love it here.
Peaceful escape near the heart of Zona Romantica
Highly recommend this peaceful condo for those looking to enjoy PV. The condo was clean, comfortable, convenient to Zona Romantica, and offered views that were unbelievable. The service was exceptional as well. Can’t say enough! I will most certainly be booking there again next year.
This is a really beautiful condo
I really enjoyed my stay.
Highlights included: beautiful view, outdoor jacuzzi tub, super clean, well stocked, huge bathroom(s), comfy bed and linens, BBQ, fairly private, huge outdoor space and living room. Lots of room everywhere, to spread out, and I felt very safe.
The only concerns I would mention are more about the location. The condo is on a very steep hill and if your legs/knees aren't up to it you will need to hire a taxi. Not to worry, taxis are not expensive.
If you are in good shape... you can walk up/down the 154 steps (plus hill) and easily get to the Malecon and many outstanding restaurants. Steven, who is awesome and responds very quickly to all questions, should be able to explain how to get to the path. Remember to cross the highway with care. And, do keep in mind that the path is pretty dark in the evening and you may be better off grabbing a taxi.
I would highly recommend this property.
Romantic zone gem
This condo is in a well maintained hacienda style building-just a sturdy uphill walk from downtown. Full panoramic view of ocean-whales every day! All the basics in the kitchen+hottest grill I've used in Mexico. Great jungle walks, followed by margs at Daquiri Dicks-cab ride back if walking back becomes blurry-60 pesos. The owner of the property is one of the best.
Would return in an instant.
Puerto Vallarta's finest!
Our stay at the C-5 unit at Loma Linda was absolutely sensational! The owner, Steve, was extremely quick to respond to our questions prior to booking. He was honest and fair in all his responses. The walk up Hortencias street is indeed steep. We simply loved the property manager, Silvia. She was warm, friendly and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all aspects of Puerto Vallarta. We generally used Uber to pick us up at Villas Loma Linda; the wait time was typically 3-4 minutes and the cost was 45 pesos to get into town. There is a somewhat spiraling but direct set of stairs to get us most of the way back up the hill from Muertos beach, but generally we took a cab or Uber back to our condo.
Steve’s condo is the nicest condo we have ever stayed in, EVER! It was very quiet in and around the Loma Linda complex, the complex has a tranquil, natural, woodsy feeling. The kitchen amenities are all there, the outdoor grill is superb; everything you need for a home cooked meal is there at your disposal. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are extraordinarily spacious. The bedrooms are comfy, especially the master bedroom. What an incredible view you have each morning from the meter bedroom. There is a side door from the master bedroom to walk out into the outdoor terrace. I will forever remember enjoying coffee while taking in the panoramic morning view of beautiful Banderas Bay. As if those memories are not fulfilling enough, the sunsets from the terrace are beyond description. With storm clouds building each September afternoon and evening, every sunset had it’s own charm, beauty and unique qualities. What fun it was to experience thunder and lightening from high above the bay. Wow! We kept the jacuzzi full and enjoyed a soak most every night - even in the warm rain. We loved the maid service, Martha was wonderful, kind and sweet! We are already discussing a return to Vallarta and keeping an eye on the C-5 calendar to be sure we can get another booking.
Thank you so much Valerie Anne for the nice review. It was a pleasure to have you, you’re welcome back anytime!
