What a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Julie,

We had a lovely stay at your house. The house was spotless and had plenty of room for us. It was convenient to Narragansett Beach, Scarborough Beach and Point Judith. We took your suggestion and walked down to the pier in the morning to watch the sunrise. Plus we "discovered" Iggy's and Aunt Carrie's! We had fun all day at the various beaches and relaxed around the grill in the evening. Thank for allowing us to stay there! (P.S. What a nice group of friendly women you have cleaning the place!)

So Nice and Charming

  • 5 of 5

We have to admit, the house was charming. There is so much to do in Narragansett. Everything is in walking distance. We fished off the Pier and beached at the Pier. Lots of restaurants and nice little shops. Hopefully we can come back again this year. It was truly wonderful. The Woodward's.

Great Place and Nice Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

What a really nice beach house! Nestled on a quiet street, we walked to everything. The Pier is beautiful and the dining, shops and arts & crafts fair was tremendous. Our favorites are Crazy Burger, Tio's and the Coast Guard house for eats. We walked to the beach everyday and also enjoyed a 5K in town. At night the Towers have lots of dancing and sitting upstairs and outside on the deck of the Coast Guard House is really romantic.

The weather was great - A perfect house for a New England summer vacation!

Great Place, Great Location - We loved it

  • 5 of 5

We could not have had a better time. Six of us loved every minute - the house was really decorated nicely, the back porch was great for BBQ's and they yard was fantastic to "horse around" playing touch football, frizbee or just generally sunbathing. Walking to the beach was great!

Perfect and Cozy

  • 4 of 5

What a weekend - Kudos! Beautiful house, warm and cozy. Kids had a great time surfing. We all walked to the beach everyday and had great weather. We'll be coming back again this summer. Highly recommend.

Not what we expected.

  • 1 of 5

It's not often that I have to leave a bad review, but in this case it's warranted.

The house's single redeeming feature was it's location - a short walk to seafront, beach, restaurants and shops.

The house was very dated. There were stained carpets in most of the rooms, apart from the kitchen which had a cracked & chipped tile floor, with paint peeling off the ceiling. The master suite has twin beds, not a big problem for us, but it should be noted. There was a very noisy oil furnace in a hall close (right outside the master bed) which woke us up most nights and gave off so much heat (just what we didn't need with temps in the upper 80's and 90's all week). The furnace actually heats up the water, so I appreciate there's no way to turn it off in the summer.

There were several lightbulbs not working throughout the house. The kitchen was poorly equipped - no wine glasses or tea kettle - we had to resort to heating water in the microwave for tea. What kitchen equipment there was appeared to have been there for many years - who wants to serve salad in an old plastic bowl?

The BBQ hadn't been cleaned since that last person used it and there were no cleaning tools - we had to go out any buy a brush before we could use it.

In summary, I would say that it's not worth what they are charging and it's certainly not immaculate as described. I wouldn't recommend this house. It reminds me of a grimy student rental.

Owner's Response: I stand by my rental house. The house is beautifully maintained and decorated, and is thoroughly and professionally cleaned in early June, and every weekend throughout the summer. The walls are painted, the carpets are steam cleaned, and the bathrooms are scrubbed. If a light bulb is out, or you have a salad in a plastic bowl, I see no real disaster here. I will mention to the cleaning crew to clean the BBQ, but honestly, I get nothing but thank you notes from my renters, and repeat renters at that.
