North Georgia Mountains Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms

Why Acorn Ridge Cabin? There are many beautiful cabins in North Georgia but only Acorn Ridge Cabin will help make your getaway exactly like you envisioned it!! Acorn Ridge Cabin gives the special touches to make sure your getaway will be exactly like you envisioned it, including personal recommendations for area activities and restaurants, based on your group size (couples, kids, etc) and requirements. You won't get this level of service from other owners. Acorn Ridge has two bedrooms (queen-size beds in each) plus a giant loft with king-size bed (our favorite room), two baths, a bonus room with pool table and a covered wrap around two level porch. Cabin sleeps six comfortably in beds. Our cabin is situated on a 2+ acre wooded lot, with the privacy you want but the convenience of being just outside of Blue Ridge.

Why Acorn Ridge Cabin?: There are many beautiful cabins in North Georgia but only Acorn Ridge Cabin will help make your getaway exactly like you envisioned it. If you want to just relax at the house, I'll give recommendations on how to best do it. For dining, I'll give my favorite restaurants. For shopping and antiquing, just let me know what you're hunting for and I'll point you in the right direction. No other cabin in North Georgia provides the same level of service.

We invite you to call us (Ken or Amy) to ask questions about cabin, availability, rates, or just about the Blue Ridge area. We know there are many beautiful cabins but few compare to our level of service and responsiveness.

About Ken Crowell

We have 3 kids and wanted to buy a cabin that we could enjoy a lot and then rent when we're not using it. As you can see from our reviews, we take great care of our guests and are very responsive to their questions.

Ken owns a business in Atlanta and Amy works for a non-profit. Our boys (Sam, Nick, in the photo) are now 12 and 10 yrs, along with 6 year old Julianna.

Why Ken Crowell chose North Georgia Mountains

Blue Ridge is the best little town in North Georgia. It doesn't have the fake tourist feel like Helen. It's a classy little town and the area provides a lot to do for different types of people. If you want to shop and eat, just spend the day in Blue Ridge. If you want to play in the water, hit the lake or go rafting/tubing. If you want to hike, there's plenty of National Forest land to do it. Plus it's an easy 90 minutes from ATL. So you can pop up on a Friday night and stay 2 days without being exhausted from the drive.

Our cabin's size and layout is perfect. If it's just two people, you'll feel right and home and not lost in a cavernous place. If it's two families, each family can stay on a separate floor so the kids can sleep as (if?) needed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for a great time at your cabin. We were thrilled with the privacy and weather. We ate in every meal, used the grill and stove. I think my Son and I played about 50 games of pool. I was a hero for leading my family to Acorn Ridge.

Perfect place for a family to relax!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in many privately owned cabins across the US. This is definitely one of the best. It was extremely clean, had everything we needed to cook while there and even had a good selection of basic pantry staples. Our preteen children were thrilled with the selection of movies, games and the pool table. We all enjoyed the hot tub.

Ken was extremely easy to work with, flexible on our date of departure and willing to answer all questions in a timely manner.

I'd highly recommend this cabin to anyone headed to the Blue Ridge area. It's convenient while still being located in a quiet and very private setting.

Thanks for everything!

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin! We slept in the loft as the bed was bigger and the cabin had everything we needed. Grilling out at night and exploring hiking trails during the day. The cabin is close to town, shopping, and trails. The only complaint we have is the mattress in the loft left us very stiff. Other than that, we loved it and would book again! Response time by the owner was very quick as well. Thank you!

Very nice cabin! The entire place was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the hot tub and also the pool table. The cabin is very well laid out and spacious. Over all we felt right at home and will definitely stay at this cabin again.

Clean, cozy, close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin from first glance. The driveway was a doozie to get up But we loved how clean, cozy, and close to everything it was. We love to cook not many pots and pans to choose from but, we made due. Great value. Not a perfect view of the mountains and the neighborhood had lots of barking dogs.... but we still enjoyed our stay. We would go back!

Owner's Response: Thanks Lindsey. I’m glad you had a good time. I always tell folks that we have a small, wooded view. If you want a big 20 mile view, Acorn Ridge isn’t the right fit. Likewise, with being “secluded” vs. “private”. Our cabin is private (on 2+ heavily wooded acres with no other cabins on that property), but not secluded. Other cars occasionally pass and there are typical neighborhood noises. Hope you can come again some future time! -Ken & Amy

Great place for a family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay. It was the perfect size for our family of three and had all the amenities we were looking for, specifically the pool table and hot tub. Everything was clean and in good condition. The owner was very responsive to our phone calls. Our daughter is 1, so it was a nice bonus that there were a lot of outlet covers throughout the cabin. We also enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch. Very good time all around.

Perfectly okay

  • 3 of 5

My children, my parents, my grandparents, and I happened to be at Acorn Ridge during a weekend of record rainfall. The driveway is pretty steep and was washed out. Tricky to maneuver in a minivan but fine in my 4Runner. Owners kindly accommodated our request to check in a few hours early. The cabin was clean, beds were comfy. Upstairs dresser drawers were all broken so we kept our belongings in suitcases. Sleeper sofa mattress downstairs was not sleepable. On Saturday we came back to the cabin to watch the GA/Bama game just in time to discover that the roof had leaked onto the TV which was consequently no longer working. Owners were very nice but I certainly didn't expect to be putting out containers to catch rainwater and drying furniture on our highly anticipated fall break. Kids enjoyed the hot tub and playing pool and cards. Cabin is a short drive to downtown Blue Ridge which we enjoyed. Overall, our rental was fine for the price but we'll look for a different property next time.

Owner's Response: Historic rainfall drenched N. GA, which caused a small leak by the chimney. Sad, but completely beyond our control. Thankfully our guests could use the second TV (same size). Our driveway has a 15 section where it is slightly inclined. No one else, even recent guests (see other reviews), has described it as she did. It’s paved road until the last 50 yds. I personally inspected the dresser and found that a bit of wood molding had fallen off (we will fix). But all drawers opened/closed correctly and safely, so I’m unsure of this comment. Sleeper sofas can be uncomfortable to some (even me) and I’ve added a better description on the listing. The sleeper is rarely used because we prefer to max out at 6 guests (1 king, 2 queen beds, plus the sleeper) but we made an exception with her, as we did with her request for a significantly early check-in. We are sorry the rain/small leak inconvenienced this guest and it may be that similar guests would be better suited for a hotel stay, where such issues can be managed by on-site staff.

Notes:
Your young children are extremely welcome (we have little ones ourselves). We have games, puzzles and movies for them. The older kids (ie: teens) will be pleased with the internet access and the fact that we get good cell phone reception at the cabin. Older kids also like the pool table. Watching the stars is always a fun activity and you can do it well from our deck. Our guests tells us that no other cabin they've stayed in previously has the level of service that we do. Of course we provide fine linens and towels but also the smaller things, like coffee, hot chocolate and popcorn.
