Cozy cabin with 3 BR, 1½ BA, is situated on the South Fork of the Provo River in Vivian Park, with incredible views of the back of Mt. Timpanogos. This is a gorgeous area, just minutes from Provo/Orem and Sundance Resort. A short five minute walk to a park with a large children’s fish pond, the station for the “Heber Creeper” RR, and the trailhead for the Provo River Parkway.
Our family of 5 stayed in this cabin for four nights December 2016. Georgia was very easy to deal with for booking. My kids loved how retro the cabin was. It had everything we needed; plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, etc. It is very well stocked. Short drive to Sundance and Provo/Orem. The cabin is in a very quiet setting. Woodshed was well stocked and there was paper, kindling, lighter, and wood ready for us when we arrived. The weather was cold during our stay, but each bed has an electric blanket so everyone slept very comfortably. BBQ was easily accessible and worked great. Some things to note; there is only 1 shower, but half of us showered at night the others in the morning and we always had plenty of hot water. There is no disposal on the kitchen sink which is not a problem if you know that. I just did the dishes myself so my kids didn't put anything down the drain. Two dumpsters are right across the street which was very convenient. The oven/stove is old but works great. It was very clean and roomy. We would stay here again. Great place especially for the price!
First of all, a big thanks to Georgia, the owner, for going out of her way to accommodate us on our arrival. Excellent response time!!!!
The cabin itself is a wonderful throwback, and I loved the older, but fully functional appliances. Very cozy, and the heater works very quickly, keeping us comfortable all night. AC not needed at all, even in August. Did not get a chance to use the fireplaces, but they would be great fun, especially the outdoor one in back, right on the river. As noted in other reviews, the river here is contained in a concrete channel, so no swimming or anything, but it sounds awesome at night as you go to sleep.
Less than ten minutes to Sundance, with mountain bike trails and an incredible zip line tour! Ten minutes to BYU, where my daughter was starting college this weekend. The cabin still feels like it is far away from town though. Heber Valley Railroad stop is walking distance, as is the park and fishing pond.
FYI Master bath has no shower, so only one shower in the cabin. Had no problem with hot water. Plenty of pots and pans, towels, dishes, and everything you need. SO MUCH better than hotels for a stay in the Provo area. Highly recommend.
Wonderful place to stay. I rented this for a week while my parents were in town. I have 3 year old twins and a 5 year old. The yard was perfect for them. We had to move some things up high to ensure that the kids didnt get into them.
Nice walking distance to the park and bridal veil falls.
There is no AC but it is not needed. The house stays cool throughout the day. I would recommend long sleeves and sweats for the mornings if you are going outside right away like my kids did.
Bring your children's bikes/scooters if they have them. The driveway has two entrances so they can ride around in circles and down the street as there are not that many houses along the road.
The kitchen comes stocked with some supplies, left over food items, etc. there is only a shower in case you needed a tub.
You will love the character of the house. It is not really updated, but it doesnt matter.
The property is directly across from the two garbage dumpsters on the road. It did not smell or attract flies/animals. It was very conveinent since we usually had stuff throughout the day to toss.
it would have been great if you could access the water behind the house, but given the plot i dont think it would be possible without some work. A fence with an unlockable gate separates the patio from the water. We loved falling asleep to the running water.
Bugs/mosquitos were not really an issue at all.
Any minor issues that were brought up throughout our stay were very quickly addressed by the owners.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would come back.
My family and I stayed here for a week and everyone had a great time. My kids really enjoyed walking down to the local park and fishing for rainbow trout in the kids fishing pond. I on the other hand loved the fact that I could walk a few minutes and be fly fishing the Provo River--one of the best fly fishing spots in the country. The cabin is only 5 minutes’ drive from Orem/Prove so stores and restaurants are easy access day or night.
The owners were great to work with and returned our security deposit the day we checked out. :-)
We just got back from staying in this house. It is a great location. 10 min. or less from Sundance ski resort, and 10 min. from grocery shopping and restaurants, etc.. You can't beat the price. We would have spent more on a Hotel. House is very clean and well equipped. Lots of parking too. We were able to have family and friends visit. Tons of chairs and outside picnic tables. Also an outdoor fireplace. It is a short walking distance to Vivian park where the kids can fish for trout. Beds were comfortable. The decor is very "Grandma's Cabin".
Overall, we loved our stay there. We would definitely rent it again!
We had a wonderful experience at the cabin and would definitely visit again. It is clean, comfortable, in great condition, and in the perfect setting. The backyard backs to a fast moving creek that provides the relaxing sound of rushing water. Vivian park sits right at the base of the mountains, so you are surrounded by beautiful views in every direction. We hiked up to a waterfall straight from the cabin one day and drove up to Sundance to ride the lifts and hike another day. Overall, a great experience.
This is a gorgeous area, just minutes from Provo/Orem and Sundance Resort. A short five minute walk to a park with a large children’s fish pond, the station for the “Heber Creeper” RR, and the trailhead for the Provo River Parkway. Vivian Park, has incredible views of the back of Mt. Timpanogos and a hiking/biking trail that goes all the way to Utah Lake. Park City which is 30 minutes away, with skiing, shopping and dining at great restaurants, and the Park City summer concerts, alpine slide and art festival. Don't miss Sundance with its country store, and two great restaurants. Skiing without the crowds, in the winter, and great hiking in the summer.
