About Meir Yaniv
I am a computer engineer and my wife is a neuro-psychologist - now both retired living in Israel. We lived on three continents and traveled throughout the world. We typically spend six to eight weeks a year in the house. We come in early spring before the season to check that our guests will have everything they need. Then we come again at the end of the summer to prepare the house for the autumn guests. Throughout the season we keep in close contact with both our local Property Manager and our guests to ensure that our guests are fully satisfied. And judging by the reviews, we are succeeding.
Meir Yaniv purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Meir Yaniv chose Montjustin
We fell in love with the Luberon area twenty years ago. Everything enchanted us - the views, the smells, the food, the wine. And the friendly people - unlike the Parisian waiters! We purchased this property because it is suitable first of all for us and our family. It is located in a small village - private but not secluded. It is not on a main highway, but can be easily reached from a main highway. The house and the grounds are large and comfortable, the right size for a large family or two couples with children. Since it is on a hill, the evenings and nights are cool even in the heat of the summer. And the views ....
What makes this Villa unique
What is unique about La Fenice? I would say that it does satisfy a broad range of requirements and interests. Great location for visiting a beautiful area with full of attractive sites. Comfortable house and grounds for relaxing and enjoying the views. Scenic village at the crossroads of the French national hiking trails system. Safe area (no through traffic) for walking around with children.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
True Provence experience
If you would like a place that combines green surroundings, beautiful views and a "taste" of famous Provence, this is the place. As for accommodation, excellent in all respects - clean, comfortable and with (Provencal) style.
Perfect for a family holiday
The house was more than big enough for our family (6 persons), clean and well - maintained. The equipment was very good and like listed in the description. The manager showed us around, gave us a lot of tips and invited us to some village activities ( we took part in a party and made our own pizza). The village is a quiet place with beautiful views, a perfect place to relaxe, but also a good starting - point for trips. We enjoyed the pool and the well equiped kitchen and the garden. It was a great week and we would recommend this property for families and small groups.
Thank you Jutta,
It was a pleasure having you as a guest. I am very happy that you were able to experience the village life and see how warm and welcoming are the local people.
Hoping to see you again soon ... Meir
Great place to get away from stress
It was our third stay (previously in 2005 & 2016) and we again loved the beautiful setting, the relaxing pool and comfortable accommodation. Only had a week this time but would gladly stay longer next time - the kids are adults now but we had joy in this short break and the memories of the holiday here before.
Beautiful house in stunning countryside.
The house is in a small village on top of the hill which affords spectacular views including the Alps! Meir ( the owner) and Thomas ( the property manager) were always available for help if required. We were met at the house by Thomas who showed us around and made sure that we had everything we needed. The house was spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. We could not have asked for more. Local residents of the village were very friendly and whilst we did not manage to eat at the local bar/restaurant, due to a festival in a neighbouring town, it seemed very popular. Plenty of information at the house, great walking trails, cycle paths, and beautiful towns and villages to visit. Or just stay relaxing by the pool - we did it all! We would definitely recommend staying at La Fenice - there were 6 adults in our party and there was plenty of space for all of us. Thank you Meir and Thomas for making our holiday special!
Great villa, great location
We spent a couple of weeks at the La Fenice villa, which we found on the web. Based on the reviews we had high expectations, which were exceeded by the reality.
Wonderful, old restored house, with modern amenities, comfortable furniture, excellent beds, very well appointed kitchen, clean, well maintained property, including the pool.
Even that it was the second half of October, the weather was great. Sunny and warm during the day, cool but not cold in the evenings.
We took advantage of the small bistro next door, for a nice ( and cheap )
meal and drinks and enjoyed there a lively evening of French and gipsy music. Also, we made explored the numerous attractions in the Luberon, some we found out about in the “house book”. And of course we went to the famous Provence markets - the biggest and most traditional is less than half an hour away.
The village is small and quaint, no commerce but the bistro which is open on weekends. We bought our baguettes and croissants in a village 15’ away, where there are 2 boulangeries, a very decent supermarket and other shops.
As we speak some French, we could communicate with the locals, who were very friendly.
In summary, we plan to come back!
I can't say enough about this villa. It was wonderful. The villa is situated atop a mountain with amazing views of the Luberon valley.
The house was perfect for our stay. It was equipped with everything we could possible need. The house is spacious and private. The surrounding area is very peaceful.
There are some great walking trails. Cereste is minutes away by car and has some very good restaurants.
We spent Monday morning at the Forcalquier Market which is about one half hour away.
We were met by Lauren who was very helpful and the owner Meir was always available by e-mail.
I would definitely go back!
Montjustin is located inside the Luberon National Park, well known for its beautiful nature and treasures, like fossils. For the French, the Luberon is the authentic Provence, with its beautiful medieval villages and castles, its produce, food and wine. There are many interesting places to visit listed in the guides, but if you just take any turn out of the main highway, you will not go wrong. The house book lists quite a few of our favorite places.
As for food, you also cannot go wrong.
