We rent exclusively to families and are on the 6th floor of the Chesapeake building in the Sea Colony East Resort. The unit has a beautiful unobstructed ocean view from the balcony, living room and master bedroom. Garage parking is provided. Sea Colony East is a complex of 9 beachfront high-rise condominiums designed for a perfect family getaway. The beaches at Sea Colony are private and life guards are on duty from 10-5. In addition to fully guarded beaches, there are 6 different pools (both indoor and outdoor) with whirlpools at two locations. The recreation office has activities, classes and events planned for kids as well as adults. Check the schedule when you arrive! On-site child care is also available. Recreation facilities include weight, workout and locker rooms, saunas, massage services, a full court gym, and both indoor and outdoor tennis courts. The complex also includes a mini-mart and deli where you can buy sub sandwiches, donuts and ice cream!
Town of Bethany:: The town of Bethany is an easy 10 minute walk from the Condo. It is quaint beach town with about 3 blocks of stores and restaurants. The town has a good playground for children and a boardwalk where music will often be heard from the new bandstand. A few of our favorite restaurants include Bethany Beach BBQ (downtown) and Cottage Cafe (directly across the street from Sea Colony). We keep a listing of restaurants in the condo for your convenience.
Day Trips about a half hour from Bethany:: Rehobeth Beach: The town is much larger than Bethany and boasts many shopping and dining options. There is also fabulous outlet shopping. Our family's favorite pizza place is here: Nicola Pizza...try the Nicobolis.
Lewes: Smaller than Rehobeth but a good day trip...very quaint with good antiques. Also, you can catch the ferry for a day of shopping over at Cape May.
Ocean City: Also about a half hour drive...big lights, lots of action, the city does not sleep in the summer!

Our families grew up in the Oakton/Vienna, Virginia area. Each summer we would take some time to go to the Eastern Shore and enjoy the beach. We were first introduced to Sea Colony in 1975 by a business associate who had a Sea Colony Villa where he spent much time with his family. It didn't take us long to discover the beauty and benefits of this extraordinary place.

We purchase our first unit in 1976. It was a one bedroom located in the Annapolis House. Our family was young and everyone soon learned to love Sea Colony. As our family grew we soon needed more space and in 1983 we purchased the present unit in Chesapeake House. We were the second owners and we still are in love with this unit and Sea Colony after all these years. We take care of it as if we lived there year around.
Several things stand out as unique about Sea Colony. First is the fact that they have year around security that can be called upon 24/7. This means a lot when you are there as a tenant and for us as an absentee owner. Second the facilities are well maintained. The Condo Association and the Recreation Association continuously monitor things to be sure everything is in excellent shape for both the owners and tenants. Having been an owner for nearly 40 years I, have seen this first hand.
We were attracted to our particular unit because of the spectacular view of the ocean and the beach. It is breathtaking when you first open the curtains and see the full ocean view. The unit is located vertically on the sixth floor. At this level you get the best view of the ocean without being to high or low. You are at the right height so people on the elevated promenade cannot see into your windows and the only thing you hear is the heavenly sound of the soothing ocean waves on the beach.
We had an incredible time. My wife, mother and I stayed one week. The condo is in excellent shape. The bathrooms have top-of-the-line fixtures. All rooms were clean, comfortable and well-kept. The furniture on the balcony was extremely comfortable. I especially appreciated the WIFI. We did not use the TV/cable, but did take advantage of the DVD player to watch movies during the evenings. I corresponded directly with the owner who always responded in a timely manner. We have stayed at several oceanfront condos in Sea Colony and found this one to be the best overall in terms of the quality of the condo. The view from the balcony is comparable to the views available in other condos, but most condo views are excellent because they're ocean facing. We will definitely choose this condo (if its available) in future trips to Sea Colony.

This condo is exactly like the pictures. It gave my family and I a relaxing getaway for the week. The owner is extremely helpful and makes sure the condo is prestine for each new guest. It is perfectly located close enough to town to walk, but far enough away so that you are not constantly surrounded by people. I would definitely go back and stay at this condo again!
Our family stayed one week (my wife and I plus two grown daughters). The unit was clean and bright with plenty of room, a well-equipped kitchen and a good view of the ocean. The beach was clean and uncrowded, and there are also pools, indoor and outdoor, plus other facilities. Bethany Beach is a relatively small, neat and quiet town with an appealing 'downtown' with numerous small shops, and one need not go too far for activities like kayaking, sailing and fishing - plus there are a number of good restaurants in the area. We had a pleasant vacation with this rental - highly recommended.
My daughter and I stayed here to celebrate her graduation. The weather was perfect, and I loved this location. We could walk everywhere, and the beach access was so convenient. It was beatifully appointed and very clean. The bathrooms are outstanding! There was no TV in the bedroom, but we didn't care! Easy. walk to downtown Bethany either on the road or beach. Looking forward to returning next year!
This 6th floor two bedroom two bathroom Chesapeake condo is a lovely clean place to stay and decorated in a pleasing understated way with renovated bathrooms (Note: the kitchen is not renovated). I would recommend this property. The furniture is comfortable and there is a lot of seating. The owner is very responsive and pleasant. The view out the balcony is one where you are looking both north and south as well as straight on with grass and cement areas directly below. There are buildings on either side so it is not a pristine view if that is what you are seeking. The kitchen is completely outfitted with a stacked washer/dryer, dishwasher, utensils and pretty dishes etc. The coffee machine takes the flat bottom coffee filters and you need to manually fill the 4 ice cube trays since there is no automatic ice maker. The A/C works extremely well. It was easy to follow the directions on the router to hop onto the wi-fi.

No pets are permitted at Sea Colony. Linens, towels, toiletries and paper products are NOT provided. This is a non-smoking unit.
