There is a biking/walking trail located at the end of the drive that leads to Petsokey and Charlevoix. If you like to shop, there are plenty of shops located in nearby Petoskey and Charleviox. A mid-June 2016 PERFECT experience!

  • 5 of 5

In many ways I can only echo the sentiments already given by the other “5 star” reviewers, yet these sentiments are worth echoing. The house is lovely; beautiful. The scenery is even more lovely; beautiful. Given the position on the bay, one has the distinct advantage of being able to observe both the sunRISE and sunSET from the patio! As to the house itself, I cannot say enough good things. All amenities are provided, from beautiful fridge, range, and coffee maker… to sound system, TV/DVD, and wireless internet. The bathrooms are clean and functional (nice hot showers every day); the washer/dryer works flawlessly; the beds are comfortable. Perhaps most important of all, Cheryl the owner was extremely pleasant to deal with; excellent/timely communication both in email and telephone. Truly, As a ‘home away from home’ goes, this has been our absolute best experience. We hope to come back again!

Relaxing and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable and quiet retreat located right on the water, situated conveniently between the towns of Charlevoix & Petoskey. The view from the deck is amazing, and the house is just steps away from the water. While the house is older, the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated. The beds and bedding are very comfortable, and there was plenty of comfortable seating in the living area. We used the large grill often and took full advantage of the chairs & fire ring on the beach, as well as the furniture on the deck. The beach is rocky, so small children may not like it. We just wore old tennis shoes while in the lake, so it was no problem. Also, there are steep steps to the beach, so very young or very old guests might need assistance. I highly recommend this cottage for a quiet, relaxing vacation!

Best of All Worlds...Pure Michigan style!

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely lovely property with an even more gorgeous view right outside the window! We have stayed in this home twice - once in the winter and we just returned from a June visit. Both trips provided a wonderful retreat! Breezy and bright in summer and cozy in the winter. We just can't say enough about it! Some favorite food/drink spots include Petoskey's Chandler's, Palette Bistro, Petoskey Brewing & Beard's! Cormack's Deli is incredible (although closed on weekends). The location of this cottage between Charlevoix and Petoskey make it a perfect spot to stay and it is completely equipped with Wi-Fi, cable, local artwork and beautiful furnishings. Attention to detail shines. Can't wait to stay here again!

Tranquility Awaits

  • 5 of 5

This was our third time staying in this area, but our first time at this property and I wont' stay anywhere else from now on. From the moment we entered the property, we knew we made the right decision staying here. This lovely home is better than described. Every possible amenity has been provided, from the expertly appointed kitchen with coffee bean grinder and all, to the beach towels and relaxing beach chairs at the water. This beautifully decorated home is located off the beaten path, just enough to give you peace and quiet without being too far away from some good restaurants. And waking up to the most amazing view made for a perfect escape. We can't wait to return.

Bon Voyage!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing holiday! We arrived to the sweetest lakefront home. Spic and span it was ready for immediate occupation. Just as described we had all the amenities of home , the most spectacular waterfront views and sunset evenings.

After days of touring from Charlevoix to the Tunnel of Trees we returned to the cooling comfort of the 'Chalet'. Evening suppers from the BBQ on the deck were capped off with fireside evenings plus SMORES, glorious sunsets followed by starry skies. We managed a scenic bicycle ride on the nearby trail alongside Lake Michigan.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary at Knot just a Bar at Bay Harbor, We feasted at Leg's Inn. We lunched at the Weathervane, the Stafford Inn, Red Mesa Grill and The Pier. Iced Coffees from Roast and Toast topped off an afternoon of shopping. We had a morning of fun at Pirates Cove! Arrrrgh! We even managed a visit with friends at Michigania! Go Blue! Local grocery stores were able to supplement anything we forgot for those wonderful late evening suppers. Shopping was highlighted by Sturgeon River Pottery, Cherry Republic and Cutlers. We look forward to returning next summer.

A Perfect Week!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from a perfect week at this great cottage! Everything you needed was there and it was clean, with all the amenities you could want. The beds were comfortable as was the rest of the house and the location was, of course, perfect. As others have said, the beach is rocky but the view is beautiful from the deck. We particularly enjoyed our dinner at The Grey Gables and we found the Weathervane in Charlevoix to be over-priced; go for a drink and the view instead. We are already planning our next week at this rental!
