This oceanfront property sits on 14 acres at the end of a ¼-mile long private drive. Sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, headlands, and islands -- and no other house in sight in any direction. There are over 700 feet of varied ocean frontage, including coves, rocks, tidal pools and a pebble beach – with a footbridge and walking path connecting all.
Each of three bedrooms has a full ocean view. There are two full baths, kitchen, living, dining and laundry rooms. The entire house was repainted and redecorated in 2003.
Property is between St. Andrews and Saint John, and about a ½ hour from each. It is also 6 miles from a provincial park with a mile long sand beach for swimming and miles of trails for hiking. Several excellent seafood restaurants nearby, and a small town for essentials is a ten minute drive.
In most seasons our minimum rental period is one week, and runs from Saturday to Saturday. Unless the week is blocked in gray on the site calendar, it's available.
NOTE ABOUT PRICES: HOMEAWAY/VRBO has always charged us a fee to advertise on their site. However, recently they starting assessing a fee to you as renters as well. We did not increase our rental fee. The price that you see has the HOMEAWAY/VRBO fee embedded in it. That fee does not go to us.
Again, great vacations in this property.... The house is very comfortable and well located.... Only a chainsaw was quite disturbing during our stay but other than that, fantastic...
The cottage is more like a house, with lots of room, bright, very clean and well equipped. It overlooks the beautiful Bay of Fundy and is very private. Besides the wonderful house and the beauty and serenity of the property, the location is ideal for exploring the area - being almost equidistant in terms of time from St. Andrews and Saint John and being close enough to the spectacular Fundy Trail and the incredible Fundy National Park to make day trips practical. We very much enjoyed St. Andrews, St. George, St. Stephens and Saint John, the many fine hiking trails, beaches, stores and restaurants in the area. We stayed for 3 weeks in September and would have loved to have been able to stay much longer!

Beautiful location. Great accommodations. All amenities. Lots to do in the area.
We had a fabulous week here in June 2016. Upon arrival we quickly realized that the location was actually more spectacular in person than can be captured in photographs. The sounds of the crashing waves at high tide were mesmerizing. And speaking of tides, for first time visitors to the Bay of Fundy, seeing the 20 foot plus swings from low to high tide was a wonder.
The house itself was exceptional. First, it was extremely clean and well stocked with towels and paper products. Second, except for the bathrooms, all rooms have a great view of the water. And as others have mentioned, the sounds of waves at night made for restful sleeping. Third, the lack of television and internet access was, for us, a bonus. This was the ultimate place to enjoy being unplugged.
The location, midway between St. Andrews and Saint John, was a bonus when it was time for excursions. And we spent a super day traveling to Grand Manan Island via the ferry located only 20 minutes from the house. Also, we traveled to the house from the States via the new Portland, ME to Yarmouth, NS ferry and then on New Brunswick and the house via the Digby, NS to Saint John ferry. The car ferries were fun, fast, scenic, and added to the adventure. We'll certainly travel on the ferries again.
Everything about staying at this house exceeded our expectations -- and our expectations were high. In all likelihood, we'll be back. Thanks Doug!
My husband and I recently spent the week here for a family vacation which included our teens and our parents (and dog) and were all very pleased with the entire package. The house was exceptionally clean, neat and equipped with everything your could possibly need. The privacy and yard was fantastic, large enough to play volleyball and badminton (we brought) and the VIEW was amazing. All of the bedrooms face the ocean side which is the BEST lullaby ever with the windows open at night!! Loved that fact there isn't TV and Wifi which really added to the quality of family time. We were prepared with puzzles and books but found a great selection of games, books, puzzles and movies at the cottage to use. The only things that could have made our stay better would have been a second week and shorter drive as we live in Ontario. We highly recommend this for the ultimate place to unwind, relax and go old school with family time.
Everything about this vaction home was perfect. Immaculate, well furnished and a beautiful, quiet location. Lots of information was available about local attractions - my, oh my, the pie lady ! I would highly recommend this property.
McCarthy's Point is in the small fishing community of Pocalogan, New Brunswick. The coast in this area of the Bay of Fundy is generally rocky, with some tall cliffs and majestic headlands. However, there is a mile long sand beach for swimming just 5 minutes drive away at New River Beach Provincial Park. A short drive away is the old Canadian resort town of St. Andrews, with golf, many restaurants, shopping and many old Victorian estates. The province's largest city - Saint John - is about 1/2 hour drive away in the opposite direction. Ten minutes away is the town of St. George, for groceries, pharmacy, etc.
