Wonderful, crazy home in beautiful neighborhood.
Such a rewarding stay! Home was extremely warm and inviting. Shops were within easy walking distance and neighbors ,shop keepers, waitresses all friendly beyond expectation.
Elena was there to meet us upon arrival and walked us through everything we would need. She even went so far as to have firewood delivered for the outside firepit. Absolutely enjoyed our evening fires overlooking the cove. Would reccomend these accommodations and hope to return soon. Owner, Barbara was the best, always available and concerned for our happiness.
We had a great time, perfect house, good location and we will be back. Thanks
Charming home in a perfect location
This house has an ideal spot right on the water, conveniently located for anything you want to do in Wickford. It combines historic charm with all modern conveniences and tasteful decor. Interesting art and just the right number of special touches ( including cute carved pumpkins), comfortable furnishings (and beds), good plumbing, and a well equipped kitchen. The owner Barbara, her associate Elena and the excellent housekeeper( Wendy, owner of Naturally Clean) were exceptionally helpful before, during and after my stay. Wendy kindly and promptly sent me the “fave” earrings I left behind.
I cannot wait to return to this lovely home for a longer stay!
Terrific, historic home in Wickford Village. Great location on the water. Near restaurants and small shops. The are the home sites in in surrounded by homes built in the 18th and 19th century. This home is a newer one, built in 1850. We would recommend to anyone.
Very best place to stay as a home base for visiting Rhode Island. After a full day of sight seeing, this home was a comfortable place to unwind. Thanks for making this special place available for travelers!
Lovely and quaint place the water
I loved awakening to moonlight on the water outside, and sitting on the upstairs and downstairs decks in the late afternoon sunlight. It was an easy walk of a couple of blocks to restaurants on the water. And when I reported that the smoke alarm had gone off for no reason, the owner responded immediately and had someone over to replace batteries within an hour.
The house is located on a cove filled with sailboats, with beautiful views all day and year round. The town of Wickford is a collection of 18th and 19th century houses set around a harbor. There are restaurants, cafes and shops and places to rent kayaks, paddle boards and boats well within walking distance. Newport is a 20 minute breathtaking drive away across the Jamestown and Newport Bridges. Drive to Point Judith for ferries to the Vineyard, Block Island and Nantucket. A fishmongers is right down the street from the house with lobsters, clams, oysters and all sorts of fresh seafood. They make fish and chips, chowders and lobster bisque on the weekends. Ocean beaches Narranganett and Scarborough are about a half hour drive south. Go antiquing, visit Gilbert Stuart's birthplace, the South County Museum, or take nearby nature walks. Providence with its theater and restaurants, Brown University and RISD is a 25 minute drive. My favorite place is Sachuest Park past Newport's Second Beach and Beavertail State Park on Jamestown. There are beautiful walks along a dramatic rocky coastline. Wickford has festivals all year round -- its art festival is the largest in New England.
