Great cottage and amenities

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was clean and well secluded. There were some great amenities available, especially in the kitchen and for the lake. Extra pillows and blankets were nice. Electric space heaters worked OK, and the fireplace was nice. Charcoal grill was great to have. Lakefront was a bit swampy, but fine for boating. Overall it was above average, but not mind-blowing; I would recommend it. Owner is very nice, but communication was a little slow.

Convenient yet private getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time at the cabin for our mini honeymoon. The location was perfect - secluded but also close enough to stores. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and hiking around the big nearby Quincy Bog. The cabin was very clean and had all of the essentials. I would recommend to anyone looking to get away and relax!

Exactly What We Wanted!

  • 5 of 5

A quaint cabin offering quiet solitude. The description was accurate and exactly what we expected. Loved the screened in porch and deck! We grilled on the charcoal grill each night and we used the canoe to take a peaceful tour around the lake. We did not swim as the weather was chilly. Looking forward to going back again.

Relaxing and Coxy

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean, relaxing, and very comfortable. I had a fire each evening, and the lake sunrise was beautiful. Thank you, Sharon, for your directions, answers to questions, and for sharing your property!

A peacful get-away into nature

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this laid-back "Lake House". It overlooks the lake as described, and with the deck and the screened in porch one gets the sense of never leaving the outdoors, which we liked a lot. The house is on the the easterly side of lake. There are few other summer homes, generally tucked back into the trees. Though others are living on the lake, if often felt like we were the only ones on the water. The other end of the lake has a good deal of conservation land, giving it a remote feeling. The swimming is the best at the western end, where the river meets the lake. It's only a 10 minute paddle away. The highlight of bird watching was seeing the Eagle soar, and to hear the Barred Owl hoot a couple times---loved the sounds. A few nearby sights to see, if one wants to leave this peaceful setting --i.e. Quincy Bog Nature Center-- was both interesting and educational.

Peaceful get-away, beautiful scenery!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to spend a few days to get away from the noise of the city. We only wish we could have stayed longer! It was exactly as described in the website posting. It was so peacefully located right on the lake. Coming from out of state, it was easy to get to, and conveniently located just thirty minutes from Franconia Notch National Park. Thanks for making this cabin available to the public! We hope to return again.
