GREAT NEWS. Our chalet survived the Gatlinburg wildfires very well!! The side of Ski Mountain that we are on is outside the fire footprint .From our chalet, you still have great views. Thank you to all who have sent thoughts and prayers.
The Kids won't want to leave!!! Our kid friendly home has something to offer everyone!!EXCELLENT views which include beautiful sunrises over Mt. LaConte, the aerial tram, downtown Gatlinburg, a game room with FREE REAL arcade games + (NEW)Playstation2 and games that will for sure entertain adults and children for hours, located near one of the three Chalet Village community heated pools (open mid-May to mid Sept.),and 1/2 from the entrance to Ober Gatlinburg ski area. All of this for a great value!! PLUS, we have PARKING!! We have a parking area that can fit 4-5 cars across and everyone can get out or park a motorcycle trailer!!
Our Chalet is a large A-frame design. It has three levels with a bath on each level. The first level has 2 bedrooms (1Q, 1F), a full bath and a laundry facility (washer and dryer). The main level has 2 bedrooms (2Q's), a full bath, the living/dining room, gas fireplace with sunken living room, kitchen, and decks which surround 2 sides of our home, and the hot tub. The 3rd level has a bedroom (1K + couch), plus a bed (1F + loveseat) on the loft, a bath. The game room is its own room off this level and has couches. Our cabin is close to all the area attractions(Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, National Park entrance and more). It sits on top of Ski Mountain in the Chalet Village neighborhood and our street ends with the boundry to the National Forrest which allows for an occasional visit from wildlife, i.e. 'L'il Smokey', a black bear, that likes to visit our home from time to time in search of their next meal. Eventhough, we are on top of the mountian, we are still only 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and 15 minutes to Pigeon Forge.
We have WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE, FREE LONG DISTANCE PHONE SERVICE for US & Canada, and digital cable. We have stereo systems, DVD and VHS players and a movie library for your viewing pleasure. For your comfort, we offer luxury linens and towels, a complete kitchen and dishes with a set up for 15.
Our home has something for everyone...entertainment, close to all area attractions, views, the house is located a lot away from your neighbors on all sides, and fun. The word I usually use to describe our home is that is has 'Great Flow' for a group. While the kids are up in the game room, the adults can enjoy a movie or views from the deck.
We would love for you to stay with us. Just e-mails us today.

We purchased this property because Sandy had been coming to Gatlinburg for many years and this property hit all of the important items that she looked for in a chalet. 1. Great View
2. Easily Accessible 3. Plenty of room 4. In Chalet Village 5. Privacy. 6. Awesome Game room.
You have a beautiful 180 view of the mountains and downtown Gatlinburg.
Game Room with real arcade games that are all free to use.
We had a GREAT Labor Day weekend stay at the Bear Drop Inn. From booking, to directions, to the actual stay this is exactly what my family was looking for. The owners were great to work with and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns.
As far as the cabin was concerned, it was perfect. The location was great as we spent a day enjoying Ober Gatlinburg and it was very easy to get to town and Pigeon Forge. The kids enjoyed the game room while the adults enjoyed playing cards and the big dining room table. With 10 people every family was able to have their own bed/floor of the cabin. Which worked out great for when you wanted a little privacy. The deck also provided great views.
The only negative, for me anyway, is I did not get to see any of the bears that the other reviews raved about. While this made my mom happy, I was really hoping to see some of the native wild life. Guess this just means we will have to book a return trip soon to check this item off the bucket list.
Overall, a nice relaxing weekend made even easier by great owners and a great cabin.
Thanks so much!
We took a family trip to the smoky mountains with 7 adults and 3 kids for a week. Everyone loved the location of the cabin. Very scenic. Several of us watched the beautiful sunrise every morning. The kids loved the arcade room. One of them still insists that was his favorite part of the trip, despite all of the other activities we did! It was pretty straightforward to get to and from the cabin for our activities that week. Plenty of space in the cabin for everyone to spread out. A huge porch where most of us ate our meals and played games in the evenings. We saw bears in the area almost every day, often passing right behind the cabin. One surprised me on the porch when I was unloading the car within two minutes of arrival, but luckily it didn't have time to ransack our car. I stupidly left the car open as I was unloading. I have no idea how the bear found it that fast. I highly recommend the smoky mountains for a family vacation and this cabin if you have a large group of people, particularly with kids.
Twelve of us from grandparents to grandkids felt right at home in this mountain retreat. The roads are steep, the driveway too, and, yes, a bear greeted us as we arrived, but what a great place for a family to get away! When they weren't in the arcade room (which everyone loved) the kids took over the sunken fireplace seating area as their domain, while the adults gathered in the living and dining areas and enjoyed watching the OberGatlinburg aerial tram floating across our picture window. Pools in the community were very nice and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer something for every vacation interest. The dimensions of the chalet are quite cozy, the kitchen was a little tight for more than one cook, but had everything we needed to prepare the majority of our meals "at home." The bedrooms were also cozy, but there was plenty of bedding and comfy beds for everyone. The interior stairway was a little tight and steep for an oldster like myself, which might be a consideration if you have limited mobility. The only issue we experienced, a hot tub malfunction, was solved with a single phone call and prompt service. All things considered a great vacation in a setting which although new to us was as comfortable as an old shoe.
Recently stayed here with a few friends and it was by far one of the best trips I've ever had. We were looking for a place to going skiing and didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices every where else so we decided on Gatlinburg. This property immediately blew us away, with all the ammendities and the size.we spent hours in the game room playing pool and enjoyed the late night hot tub sessions. It's also only about a mile down the street from the Ober Ski Resort. We had a blast riding the cable car downtown every night and back. Definitely the best place to stay if you're looking for a fun getaway. Highly reccomend to anyone and everyone!
The Bear Drop Inn is our favorite place to stay in Gatlinburg! We've stayed at this fully loaded house before and hope to again! Quite a treat that the bears are regular visitors! This big house is on their path and you need to be on the lookout for these quiet, beautiful animals! The bears and the views of downtown and the Ober Gatlinburg tram make this a very special house! Also, the inside is warm and cozy with lots of room on all 3 floors! The house is fully equipped with everything you'll need! Plus, it has comfy beds and an amazing game room! There are so many amenities at this house that most of our visit is spent enjoying time there! This is the place to stay in the Smokies!
We just returned from a wonderful week's stay at the Bear Drop Inn. The cabin is spacious, clean and perfectly positioned for amazing morning sunrises and evening sunsets! Over Gatlinburg (skiing in the winter, rides in the summer) is only 0.2 miles away, and downtown Gatlinburg is only 3 miles down the mountain. Last but not least, this fabulous cabin certainly lives up to its name! A momma bear proudly paraded her FOUR adorable cubs around the cabin at least twice every day! Apparently we were the 1st to see the new cubs!We never fed them, but they still came by like clockwork--once in the morning and once in the evening every single day! Momma even surprised me (and herself) one evening while I was sitting on the deck by the hot tub. She poked her nose around the corner about 2 feet from where I had my feet resting on a small step stool by the tub! Not sure who was more startled (ME!)--she just jumped back about 10 feet and looked (smiled?) at me.
Overall, a wonderful cabing in the perfect setting, and the owners are awesome people! Highly recommended!!
