My family and I loved our stay. It is a perfect location, walking distance from Sunapee Harbor, with a beautiful view (you can see two of the three lighthouses). As nice as the photos are, they do not capture how beautiful it is. The house is larger than it looks in the photos, and it was clean, well-stocked and had everything you could possibly need. I cannot imagine a better way to start the day than a cup of coffee on the dock, nor a better way to end the evening than a glass of wine on the Adirondack chairs. John was very pleasant, and he made the rental process easy. Our deposit was refunded within days of our return home. I could not be happier with our experience. I would absolutely love to return.
This was our second time staying at this lovely cottage on beautiful Lake Sunapee. It has everything you will need to feel completely at home. The lake is clean and not busy with a lot of boats. We rented a pontoon boat this year and it was a lot of fun and well worth the money. The kayak provided was fun for our younger friends. We will try to return next year for fun and relaxation.
Many reviewers have said that the pictures don't do this home justice...they are so true! We just returned from a long-weekend here. We were in the area for my niece's wedding. What a beautiful home! It is neat as a pin, immaculately clean and just gorgeous. We stayed with my daughter and her husband, our 3 month old and 7 year old grandsons. It was perfect. The home is laid out so well, the fireplaces gorgeous (that's right, there's one in the master bedroom also)! You can tell the owners love their home. Thank you for a great and memorable weekend!
The photos do not do this cottage justice. We loved everything about it. Very comfortable. Private setting. We took my disabled sister who used to own a cottage in Sunapee harbor and she was thrilled with the proximity to the harbor and the view from the cottage - wants to return next year. I must say, I wouldn't mind!
What can I say? We would not have returned if this cottage wasn't all it claims to be and more! Stayed a little longer this time. The weather really cooperated, so lots of lake swimming, kayaking & lounging around on the dock. Friends & family joined us throughout our stay and they were equally impressed. Not to be missed if you're not familiar with Lake Sunapee: take the dinner cruise on the MV Kearsarge. Essex Fells (John Hay Wildlife Refuge) is a nearby estate home open for tours with beautiful, lush gardens & traveling art shows. On your way there, don't miss the Farm Stand on the side of 103A for fresh fruits, veggies, eggs, canned pickles & the sweetest corn in NH (traveling north from Newbury, a mile or so up the road before you get to Essex Fells.) See you next year!
Back again in 2011! Just as happy as we were last year. The cottage is clean, well-cared for, has comfortable amenities & absolutely a most ideal spot on Lake Sunapee. Great, lazy place to lounge around, take a spin on your bike or cruise around on your kayak. If you get the chance, take the MV Kearsarge dinner cruise -- good food along with a hefty dose of Lake Sunapee history. Friends came to visit for a few days & they were equally impressed. We definitely recommend this cozy cottage! Planning to return next September . . . can't wait!
The Lake Sunapee area is one of the most pristine and picturesque locations in New Hampshire with recreational activities a plenty. In the summer the lake itself offers swimming, boating and relaxing on the dock. Mountain climbing, mountain biking, hiking, tennis, golf and many other sports are right near by. In the Fall, enjoy the spectacular foliage here in the heart of New England. In the winter, skate on the lake, sit by the fire or head to Mt. Sunapee for a day of skiing or snowboarding, or nordic skiing. The quaint town of New London and it’s boutique shops, suummer playhouse, and grocery store is within a 10 minute drive.
