Lahaina Shores Beach Resort 475 Front Street Lahaina, Hawaii 96761
A wonderful alternative to the fast paced expensive resorts of Kaanapali and Kapalua. A block by beach or side walk to historic Lahaina Town. Lahaina's only beach front property where restaurants, shops, and nightlife are just steps away. The water in front of Lahaina Shores is calm and protected by a reef, just perfect for swimming or water floats. No shark worries, either. Hang out on the beach, swim, snorkel, or enjoy the lawn, pool or hot tub. Simply the best place, best location, and best value.
Free high speed internet for our guests.: (but you must ask the Front desk for the access code)
Just ordinary, hard working people who love Maui and specifically Lahaina Shores. Every year, we look forward to enjoying 5 weeks in our condo.
Carol Pranitch or Jane Martin purchased this condo in 2002
More than 25 years ago we discovered Lahaina Shores and ever since we would not stay any where else. We jumped at the chance when the opportunity arose to purchase a condo there. We truly love this place, the awsome view, the convenience to Lahaina town, the friendly guests and staff, the atmosphere.
Did I ever tell you what a fantastic time that Joe and I had in Lahaina at your place? The condo is a near-perfect place; the only thing better would be ... hmm, I can't think of anything to improve! (You can quote me on that.)
I am bringing my daughter to Lahaina at the end of April. (April 23 to May 2, to be exact.) It's her 15th birthday. (Aw.) I'd love to stay in your condo again; it's my first choice. It looks like, from the calendar, that those dates are available.
Just let me know! And thanks.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful mountain view condo for 10 days and nights. The owners were great hosts and went above and beyond to accomodate every need. The murphy bed was awesome as it gave us added room and the full use of a living room during the day. It was very clean and nicely decorated in the Hawaiian theme with beautiful local art. The added bonus of the many music CD's was much enjoyed and there is a large library of current DVD video's as well. (We didn't watch any because we were too busy having fun.) I felt more like a guest in someone's home than a client in a hotel. There is an abundance of kitchen essentials, big, fluffy towels, comfy pillows, everything you could think of and more. The convenience of this codo was also a huge plus. The Lahaina Shores is within a 15-20 minute walk to anywhere in Lahaina, no car is necessary and it takes 5 minutes to get downtown. The town is wonderful, I much prefer it to Ka'anapali. There is beautiful local and international art galleries, wonderful restaurants, nightlife, every shop imaginable without being cheesy and touristy. Do Banyan Tree Park - stunning, plus art/craft festivals on Weekends. Most amazing, watching the Humpback Whales play all day long right from the resort. I highly recommend you come here during whale season (mid-Dec to end of April). Do a whale watch tour, also fabulous Luau's - we did Feast at Lele`. Expensive, but well worth every penny - Also it is right next to the resort so if you have one too many Maitai's or Pina Colada's from the free open bar, you merely need to stumble a few feet to get back. Also, snorkeling was at Molokini was great, swiming with the Sea Turtles at Olawalu - fabulous!!! (my personal favorite). Definitely see concierge MK or Anushka to get the best deals for tours - they'll tell you the best ones for your needs & will save you money. Don't forget to ask for coupons - lots of 2 for 1 dining deals & free deserts. If you do bring a car, drive the coast - stunning, visit the Iao valley - see the Iao needle - breathtaking. Of course Haleakala Crater & Road to Hana - highly recommended, we never did do either of those - that's ok, something to go back for. One caveat! Very limited parking - if you rent a car, be aware. Convenient if travelling away from the town but not needed locally. If we go back, (and we plan to), I wouldn't stay anywhere else. My personal little secret, and now yours too.
We stayed five weeks, and this has become our favorite lodging on Maui. This unit was remodeled last year, and is beautiful. It is among the minority which feature murphy beds. The murphy bed is for us a distinct advantage - it converts the bedroom into a living room with an easy lift onto the wall. And I do mean easy. It is perfectly balanced.
The fridge is new and huge. I learned to love the glass cooktop. Tip: never let oil cook on. Wipe it off immediately.
The Lahaina Shores has become our favorite after 30 years of staying in Kaanapali. We don't even get a rental car. I make a daily walk to Foodland, as much for exercise and to see wacky Front street as to provision. The West Maui mountain view is spectacular in the setting sun - and the unit does not become blazing hot in the afternoon.
For the computer facile, the Samsung widescreen TV can be tuned to Pandora, Netflix, Youtube and more.
The Lahaina Shores faces onto a sandy beach and crystal clear water behind a protective reef which explains the lack of surf on the beach, perfect for small pre-surfers.
My son and I just returned from a Post-graduation, Father/Son trip. We didn’t plan on staying in the room much as the true destination was outside the door. As for a place to store our gear, shower at the end of a long day, and rest our tired bodies, the place was great.
It would appear that there has been a recent renovation to the space. The plush carpet has been replaced by stone/tile flooring. The combination tub/shower has been replaced by a walk-in shower. The heavy smell of paint remains, but is not unbearable.
The biggest complaint was the lack of timely (if ever) communication. When it came to payments, the owners are all over technology. When it comes to personal correspondence, the flip-phones must not be up to the task. I am relieved that we did not have the need for immediate contact with the owners. Several requests were made for check-in/check-out instructions. 1 week after the trip and still no word.
So for those that may ask the same question:
Check-in – Much like any other hotel/resort, proceed to the front desk. Provide your name along with Photo ID and a credit card. You will be provided a CC key to the room. No need to mention the owners name or VRBO booking. The front desk staff is wonderful and very helpful.
In the room – There is a ½ sheet of paper with WiFi password (Hint – The password is all lowercase).
Check-out – We gathered from the small paper with the WiFi password, that you are required to remove your own trash, hang the towels on the rack, wash the dishes. Return the CC Key to the front desk and settle up any charges (PARKING) with the Hotel.
Four stars for a nice stay at a reasonable price. No stars for communication from the owners. The VRBO app/web site has a great deal to offer, if the owners would take the time to complete the property profile.
This condo had everything you needed!!!! Clean, comfortable!!! Loved the Murphy bed! Appliances for quick meals if wanting a break from dining out, the front desk staff were friendly, the beach is your backyard, front street is literally out the front door, watch the sunrise over the west Maui mountains while sipping coffee 💚💚💚 just perfect!!!!!
🌺 Mahalo to Carol!
Very clean accommodations & perfect location to walk to anywhere in downtown Lahaina. Halloween festival was fun & exciting. Beach was beautiful and safe to swim. Balcony faces beautiful lush green landscape. Beach side facing would have been too hot to sit in afternoon so happy with view. Only thing needs improvement would be better communication with owner. check in instructions came after we'd figured it out. Overall had a lovely time.
My husband and I have just returned from a week in Carol and Jane's condo at the Lahaina Shores Resort. The apartment was perfect for the two of us and was as described in terms of cleanliness and providing all the necessities.
We absolutely loved the location and the friendly staff at the front desk who always greeted you with a smile and a warm " Aloha".
The location is great in that it is away from the crowds of the town but within easy walking distance to the restaurants and shopping area. We were so sorry to have to leave at the end of our stay but hope to return one day soon. When that happens, we will definitely try to book this apartment again and will let any of our friends who may be travelling to Maui about our pleasant experience there.
just do it all or nothing at all
