The property offers nearby access to Lake Dunlap via public boat ramp and features a 20' pier for docking alongside as well. The huge green lawn perfect for BBQs or just relaxing...Bring your fishing gear! The grounds are landscaped and there are spots for outdoor cooking. Soaring Pecan, Oak and Cypress trees provide shade from the warm Texas sun! The house itself has a huge 400sf. deck.
Good shade, quality house with plenty of room to move around and sleep, and easy access to water! We enjoy it every time.
This lake house was great for a family 4th of July get-a-way. We enjoyed the space and slept everyone comfortably. Plenty of space in the kitchen for cooking big family meals. Comfortable and enough room for all that stayed. The outside needs some TLC and would be very nice if picnic tables or eating space was close to the lake/dock where people are swimming/boating. Owner was very helpful with communication and responded to all questions promptly.
I would recommend to anyone looking to stay at this property and hope to return again sometime soon!
This house is in a great area, the lake and dock provide additional fun in the water. The owners were very easy to communicate with and timely on questions. Would easily rent from them again! Beautiful home.
It was a girls weekend trip. Just before our stay the previous renters had left negative reviews which alarmed a few of us. After discussing our concerns with the owner, we kept an open mind for our trip. As it turned out, the property and house was just as advertised. It's a Lake House. It's not at pristine vacation resort. The house is comfortable, clean, and we'll equipped. We had a wonderful time despite the rainy forecast for the entire weekend. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The owner is very helpful and always available. Yes there are a few over grown shrubs, and yes the house could use a good pressure washing around the carport. But overall it was a great lake house.
We had plenty of room for our wonderful family reunion. The house was well stocked and the front yard big enough for soccer and other games. The lake was ideal for fishing and the campfire enabled us to make s'mores for the grandchildren and was a focus as we chatted into the wee hours of the morning. We will definitely return.
Wish I'd seen Mary Ellen D's March 2016 review before I booked. The pictures don't tell the story. House has a nice living room & 2 dining rooms that accommodates 14, plus a kitchen with loads of dishes, pots, etc., an ice maker; everything you need for a large group. Nice view of lake through large trees on property & that's about it.
Entry door by lock box was VERY dirty & covered with cobwebs, as was the full side of the house under carport. Same issues as Mary Ellen noted. No privacy for 3 sleeping areas. Hallway bath that serves 3 upstairs bedrooms has curled and peeling wallpaper. No safe lake access from property off the dock. Deck needed sweeping and we had to clean the outside tables before we could even use, plus some of the outdoor chairs. (Only 5 chairs on the deck for 2 small tables.) Carpeted stairwell and all the sleeping quarters/bedrooms have dingy and stained carpet. What is probably the main entry door is difficult to reach with luggage & supplies as overgrown landscape covers sidewalk and stairwell up to the entry is partly blocked by a huge jasmine. We cooked a lot; the barbecue on carport is filthy (outside & inside) & was not usable. We needed a first aid kit due to a cut hand but not one on property. We've rented numerous properties over the past 10 years on VRBO/HomeAway and in comparison this is very poorly maintained - especially considering the price. Sadly we would definitely not recommend.
