Why Owner chose Hanover
quiet, relaxing setting away from city lights and traffic. Close to small towns for outings, or relax on the 5 acre lake with the boats or bring a raft to float on. This is a private lake in the valley of rolling hills next to the estate vineyard.

Beautiful, Quiet, Peaceful
We stayed for an October weekend- a getaway for 3 seniors. The cabin was very comfortable, well-maintained, and we enjoyed the beautiful fall colors and lake view. We did find the steep incline, gravel access road to the cabin a bit intimidating and were happy that we drove vehicles with 4 wheel drive. A family car might have difficulty on that road. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and the entire cabin was clean. Even though it was unusually cold and windy, we relaxed and enjoyed a trip into Galena, too. We had a wonderful weekend and would come again. We would recommend driving an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle and taking Route 20 to Hanover to get to this place. Much easier than the route we took!
We had so much fun.
Wine is to die for.
Property is close to many wonderful little towns.
Owners are super pleasant and sweet.
We will definitely be back.
Girls Weekend Getaway
The property and location was absolutely beautiful! It was a perfect location for our girl's trip with our own lake and the house itself had plenty of space and everything we needed. Definitely would recommend!
Family Winery Weekend
Winding down a dirt/rock driveway, we came upon the cabin. It is larger than the photos showed. Great front porch for morning coffee drinking. The cabin's interior was immaculate and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Luckily we got the master bedroom, the bed was ultra comfy. The bunkbeds were a tad small for our adult male family members. There were lots of comforters, so they could spread out on the carpet. We enjoyed the pond and had a campfire one night. Galena is a short drive away, great for a night's out dinner, then back for some star gazing. Also, we did the wine tasting which was included in our stay and the owner was friendly and informative.
Great Illinois getaway
What a great getaway. Nice accommodations, great fishing
No place like home except for this place.
Our entire family LOVED the cabin. We didn’t leave the property our entire stay. We swam, fished, and did a lot of front porch family time. Campfires at night watching the fireflies take over the sky while blending in with the stars, amazing!
Really did have everything you would need to cook and serve. Everyone had a nice comfortable bed and with 3 bathrooms no one had to wait😁. We will definitely book again!
