The flat is situated just off Rio Marin which is a very quiet and very well served area. The nearest vaporetto stops is “Riva di Biasio”. a Supermarket is 100mts away, a lovely patisserie with tables outside, the train station is 10 minutes’ walk from the flat and so is the car park of Piazzale Roma. Strategically positioned, this apartment is only 5 minutes’ walk from the Frari Church and some very good fish and typical Venetian restaurants.
Off the most common tourist’s routes, Rio Marin is a quiet area in the centre of Venice and in one for the most antique district, Santa Croce. Despite being on the first floor (one floor above the ground) it is extremely bright as it is facing a large space given by the nearby private gardens.
Two bedrooms, one double and the second one twin, can host a fifth person in one of the sofa in the living room that unfold and become a comfortable bed. Two bathrooms with cabin shower and en suite. The living area is divided in two and on the kitchen’s side there is a round dining table that can comfortably host 5 persons and on the other side there is a comfortable set of large sofas to relax, watch a movie or just take a nap before going for dinner after a long day walking and sightseeing.
The apartment was very clean with everything we needed for a 4 night stay in Venice. The rep who met us was charming and very helpful. There was an excellent supermarket close by and we had some interesting meals at the Ostaria Al Vecio Pozzo across the square. We would definitely choose this apartment again on a return to Venice
My husband and I stayed in this apartment with friends for 4 nights in late September. The location was convenient to a grocery store and good restaurants. The neighbourhood is residential and quiet but within walking distance to St. Marks Square, the Rialto and most of the major sights. The Vaporetto stop is a few blocks away, but the Venice is such a great city for walking that we only used the Vaporetto when we were going far or were in a hurry. Bruno met us, as prearranged, at the Vaporetto stop on arrival and showed us to the apartment. He was helpful and thorough in explaining how to use the apartment facilities. We were very comfortable in the apartment and would certainly stay there on another trip to Venice. We had a wonderful time in this gorgeous city.
We ate dinner at the restaurant on the street just outside the apartment and the food was delicious, great service and the portions were huge! The 4 of us could have shared 2 plates.
We were leaving on a cruise at the end of our stay and the cruise terminal is close enough to the apartment that we walked to it; much easier than negotiating luggage on and off the Vaporetto.
We were simply blown away by the property. Our stay was comfortable and gorgeous at the same time. The terrace was a nice plus. Our manager met us and walked us to the place, even though we got lost and had to turn around. We got a great set of instructions and some recommendations of where to go and how to get there. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
We fell in love with Venice and very much enjoyed our visit to Burano.
We had a great time in Venice in the height of the crowded season thanks to this wonderful apartment in a great neighborhood in Venice. It is near a very nice grocery store and getting to any place we wanted was a quick walk to the vaporetto, or easy to find because of the signs leading the way to St Marks and the Rialto. Would go back in a minute.
We have recently returned from another trip to Venice in one of The Red House Company's excellently managed properties. Rio Marin is a lovely base for exploring Venice with elegant furnishings, comfy sofas and beds. It was very clean with lots of white, fluffy towels, easy to manage heating and lovely views over a garden. The area around the apartment is very quiet, especially at night. The kitchen is quite basic - not somewhere to do a lot of cooking - but there are two reasonably priced restaurants nearby: Ostaria Al Vecio Pozzo across the lane and Ai Garzoti just across the bridge, next to the supermarket so everything is on your doorstep. Riva di Biasio vaparetto stop is a 5 minutes walk away as is Piazzale Roma and the railway station. Lots of places nearby for prosecco and coffee at the end of a busy day. Perfect! Thankyou Marco and caroline - we have already chosen our apartment for next year!
The apartment is exactly like described. We found the managers of the place very helpful so that there is no reason for any complaint whatsoever. As there are two really good restaurants almost at arms' length and with the vaporetto stop FERROVIA close by and a supermarket just across the bridge of Rio Marin there is nothing left to wish for to make your stay at the apartment a most pleasant experience.
