The Adirondack Mountains offer one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. year round. Whether it be to seek warmth and comfort during the colder months, or to find an awesome vacation destination year round - its here. Fulton County has 44 lakes, and is central to many other great places to visit in the region. Camp Garoga is located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and offers a great vantage point for exploring all of what upper New York state has to offer. This log cabin setting provides a comfortable place to settle in, with modern amenities but with the rustic charm that only a cabin can offer. A great lodge for a romantic weekend getaway or a vacation week for you and your family.

Enter the cabin to a cozy and charming setting that allows for privacy, romance, and rest. It is a great escape from the hectic pace of life. It is second to none in terms of clean, comfortable, and cozy relaxation.

It has to be clean!!: Camp Garoga is an 'upper-quality' lodge. We strive to maintain a very clean, and allergy-free environment. Therefore, we do not allow pets. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Guestbook comments from the owner

(from our guest journal, a recent returning guest wrote...) "Jacob and I have now been to Camp Garoga 4 times. We have come to see this place like our own cabin in the woods. We had considered buying a cabin in the Adirondacks some time back, but was worried about the expenses. Once we found Camp Garoga, we decided that buying a cabin wasn't necessary. We already have one! We call when our schedule is open, and the place is waiting for us. It is always clean and it feels like they went out of their way to make us feel like we were coming home again. We love it, and will see you again soon." Jacob and Gabbie

Peaceful, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Camp Garoga during the week of Aug.31. It was by far the best "getaway" we've had! The property is spotless, welcoming and comfortable. Everthing about it speaks relaxation. The Adirondack decour and accents made us feel right at home immediately. Sitting by the firepit every night, roasting marshmallows was absolutely wonderful! The peace of the surrounding woods added to our stressfree stay. The kitchen was well stocked w/all you need to prepare meals and all the furnishings throughout were very comfortable. Chris was a wonderful host, spending some time visiting w/us but allowing us plenty of privacy as well.

We climbed a few mountain trails in the area and walked thru the wooded trails in the back of the house. We shopped in Saratoga Springs and just had plenty of relaxation time.

Thank you Chris and Dan for providing such a wonderful vacation spot!

We will return in 2010!

Warm and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for an extended weekend. Our hopes were to take a break from work and the stresses of everyday. I fell in love with this cabin upon seeing the photos. Upon arrival, the love remained. It was cozy, familiar, and had everything one would need. From games to a equipment/utensil stocked kitchen. Chris was very helpful prior to our arrival. He kept quick communication before and during our stay, if we needed him You will be very well taken care of if you choose this rental. And the hot tub was fantastic! Nothing beats sitting in a toasty hot tub during the winter months.

A great cabin experience in a convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Camp Garoga is as advertised. Why stay at a standard hotel when for the same price you can stay down the road and enjoy a true log cabin experience. Chris has done an outstanding job decorating and maintaining this pristine cabin with gorgeous loft and comfortable beds. The kitchen is modern and rustic all at the same time. We were celebrating a special occasion and Chris added to the experience by putting up a sign and leaving a nice card. Besides the cozy accommodations, great hiking right behind the cabin and convenience to town, the nearby attractions, lakes and wilderness offer a lot to those who love the outdoors.

A unique experience

  • 3 of 5

The Moose cabin was absolutely beautiful and I've always enjoyed visiting the Adirondack Mountains but there were a few things that I wasn't pleased with. When booking this reservation, I wasn't aware that the Moose and Bear cabin were conjoined. There was nothing mentioned in the description on homeaway and if there had been, I wouldn't have booked this reservation at all. I was looking for complete privacy for me, my boyfriend and my friends. The Cabins were only separated by a locked door, which didn't serve much as a quiet barrier because we could hear the other guests pretty clearly. According to the owner, Chris, most cabins are conjoined. I disagree because last year I booked a single cabin in the Adirondacks with complete solitude. If this is a common thing, I think it should be well stated in the description.

To be honest, I felt the customer service was lacking as well. It was difficult to reach Chris when booking the reservation and when I had questions prior my arrival date.

I had also asked for a late check-out a few days before my arrival and Chris approved. The day before my check-out, he texts me at 11pm to leave no later than 11am because his daughter booked a last minute reservation without the knowledge of the agreement we had made. I didn't think this was fair at all since this was a mistake on their part. I told Chris that the late check-out should stand still since we had already agreed on it. He agreed and said to not leave a minute over 12pm. The next day we were being rushed out even though we had an hour before we needed leave. We had already spoke the previous night, so what was the purpose of the constant reminders? He also called the cabin phone twice to make sure we were leaving. We were already out the door by 12pm. I just find it very unprofessional to be on top of guests like that, especially when the mistake was made on their part. I find it funny how there was a lack of communication when I needed questions answered but when there was something that needed to be done for their business, we were rushed out.

Nonetheless, me, my boyfriend and my friends made that best out of it and really enjoyed what the cabin had to offer.

Owner's Response: Congratulations go out to our previous guests, future guests, our cleaning staff, and anyone else(grounds keepers and service maintenance crews) who have contributed to the success of our 12 year young growing business of (currently 4) beautifully decorated and maintained cabins! It's been a long road of hardwork, long cold nights and sometimes grueling hot muggy days to accommodate and keep our guests coming back year after year. And although not everyone will enjoy our success or appreciate staying in what is probably the most meticulously maintained rental cabins in the area, we strive to be available at ALL hours(the 3am phone calls are the best). It can get daunting to say the least while working full-time at a career in real estate and raising a compassionate daughter. We strive to be accommodating even to the most demanding guests. After waiting tables for 20 years in an awesome crazy busy restaurant I've realized that not everyone can be entirely elated with your performance☺️(they used to call me Race Car Joe...which is odd, because my name is Chris), but you should always strive to give more than you're capable of. Sometimes it's appreciated and sometimes it isn't. But it never stops you from being AND doing everything to the best of your ability. And you know the old saying "you can't please'll die trying". Especially when you get a phone call at midnight from said guests demanding that you come out immediately to reset the changed settings on the hot tub(changed by the guests mind you, more than 24 hours prior). *More of a notice is always appreciated. regardless, this less than rewarding review is unfortunate, and I'm sorry that she sees the story differently, but she did however get one thing right...our cabins ARE beautiful! They always will be. But thank you Julie, nonetheless because Iv'e been dying to get that "waiting tables" story off my chest for years! But I'll let our other cabin reviews tell the story. May the Force be with you! Gosh I love Star Wars! Have you guys seen the new movie, yet? AMAZING!

The perfect romantic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Whatever you picture when you imagine a romantic cabin getaway, this place is it. From the moment you walk in, everywhere you look is rustic, cozy, and beautiful. Deer heads on the walls, a bearskin rug by the fireplace, big comfy couches, and a loft... the perfect place to cuddle up with a glass of wine and a good book. There's a flat screen TV too with tons of movies, and a cabinet full of board games. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week over New Year's and had the most magical time. The kitchen is full of cookware, and we were able to cook all our meals there, and the owner is there for you whatever you need. For example, we needed a blender and within a few hours he dropped one off. There is also a fire pit outside for making s'mores. We also took a day trip to Cooperstown (about 55 minutes away) and saw the baseball hall of fame one day during our stay. I would definitely come back here!

Just simply perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and three children (6,4 and 9 mos) and I all had a fantastic stay! We arrived later in the afternoon to this clean and cozy cabin. We loved every minute of it from the family time spent walking the wooded trails and playing in the spacious backyard to relaxing by the fire in the evening and lounging in the hot tub after the kids went to bed. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Chris did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely stay again next time we pass through the area and have already recommended the cabin to our friends!
