Come relax in this beautiful three bedroom, two full bathroom, open floor plan. This home has been totally renovated in 2015 keeping as much of the original structure as possible. Today you will find a one-of-a-kind mix of old and new home. This house has been in our family for three generations and in the early days it was the local grocery store and dance hall, in the 70’s the store was converted to our fathers home were he lived until 2010. My brother and I inherited the property in 2014 and we just loved the history of building and wanted to restore and preserve the building and be a part of that history. We love to spend time in the country house relaxing, gardening, grilling, and just decompressing from the busy city we live in. We soon realized the house would be the perfect place for people to stay while visiting Kentucky we have so much history here with Bardstown being “The Bourbon Capital Of The World” we thought why not share this fun place with folks who would like to see Kentucky? This home is within minutes of many Historic Distillery’s Heaven Hill, Willett, Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Barton 1792, with daily tours available, Gethsemani Monastery the oldest working Monastery in the U.S., Steven Foster Story, My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Bardstown has great shopping and yummy restaurants. The local people are friendly and most smile and wave as you pass. The house has almost an acre of yard with lots to do like horseshoe pits, corn toss game, fire pit, gardens outside seating, gas grill, lots of shade and privacy. Inside you will find a clean fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to have a hassle free stay, coffee maker, microwave, stove with oven, frigid with ice maker, plenty of dishes, flatware, pots and pans, nonstick skillets, cast iron skillets, this kitchen is better equipped than my own! We have three large bathrooms, two beautiful bathrooms with plenty of hotel quality linens, new comfortable beds in each bedroom, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and flat screen TV and a small patio outside, perfect for bird watching while having morning coffee . The middle bedroom has two twin beds and a TV with a DVD player, don’t worry we have movies too! The front bedroom has a queen size bed and is a bright sunny room with its own outside door that leads to the front porch where you can hang out and watch the world go by. The living room is open to the kitchen and has a large leather sofa with a push back chaise on one end a electric recliner on the other side, the living room is comfortable and has a large flat screen TV with Dish Satellite we have WiFi a stereo, Bluetooth speaker, and a desk with lots of local information to plan your outings. One of my favorite things about this house is the “Bourbon Barrel Cigar Bar” this room has its own ventilation allowing you to enjoy your favorite bourbon with your favorite cigar without involving the living quarters. Anytime we have friends over this is the room we all gravitate to, it also has a flat screen TV, wet bar , dishwasher, washer and dryer, all the berware you will need for that perfect cocktail, the bar has been made from aged bourbon barrels and 100 year old barn wood and seats 8 -10 people, we have cards and poker chips and other games. We believe this is a awesome place to have your group vacation or a Bachelor, Bachelorettes weekend getaway. We provide breakfast items for you, we have plenty of fresh coffee on hand and all condiments you need.

NOT in Bardstown
First and foremost this property is NOT located in Bardstown, that is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. This property is located in New Hope, KY. It is 25+ minutes from downtown Bardstown. This did cause us an issue due to the fact we had a tour bus scheduled to pick us up at our location in Bardstown to eliminate having to drive, that did not work out and somebody from our group was not able to fully partake in all of the scheduled tours and tastings due to the necessity of driving. The other issue is that we had hoped to have dinner in Bardstown and enjoy some of the great bourbon selections in town both nights. We ended up staying in the second night and cooking frozen pizza to eliminate driving. Outside of that, everything else was as described. The house is great inside, it is clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We were greeted with a great basket of snacks and small bottles of bourbon, and the refrigerator was stocked with breakfast items.
Hi David, sorry you were disappointed with the location of the house. It is true we are NOT in Bardstown, I believe the description of the house we listed the house within minutes of Bardstown, but I will be checking into the location description to clarify, I just Googled distance from Bardstown to New Hope, we are 15 miles south of Bardstown, 20 minutes. Again I’m sorry your trip wasn’t perfect, and you had to change your plans, or you felt mislead in anyway. We do try to think of everything, this is our 1st full year and we are still learning, but I’m glad you liked the house. Thank you for your review
Super cool house near Bardstown. Very comfortable and accommodating. Perfect yard to sit around a fire and relax after going on tours of the local distilleries. We will definitely try to stay here again.
James, we are so happy your group enjoyed the house, we try to think of everything you would need to have the most carefree getaway as possible. This is our 2nd year and we are just getting our footing in this awesome business. We plan to be here for many years and hope to see you again. Thanks for taking great care of the house, just wish you had better weather the entire weekend. Thanks Sharon & Mike
Perfect Setup for a Guy's Bourbon Trail Trip!
This was the perfect setup and setting for our Bourbon Trail trip. The owners were amazing to work with and the attention to detail throughout the home was fantastic. From the moment we stepped into the house, we knew we had made a great decision. The central location between Maker’s Mark and Beam was perfect for our plans. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the complimentary breakfast left for us in the fridge was a great touch. Our favorite part was sitting around the firepit in the evenings, tasting some of our latest trophies from the trail, and making some great memories. We will look nowhere else when coming back for our next trip!
Alan, thanks so much for your awesome review! I’m so happy you guys enjoyed the Trail and our house. Sounds like you guys had a great time and times like that are what we had in mind when we renovated the old grocery store. You all were the best guest and left the house in great shape and we would love to have you come back anytime! See you in the future. Sharon and Mike
Beautiful and very clean.
Sharon could not have been more accommodating and her home was beautiful. A must if your visiting the burbon trail.
The guys were so thoughtful, and thay totally respected the house and all the rules. Not to often you can put 4,5,or 6 guys together and expect much ? BUT I was so pleased with the condition of the house I can’t thank them enough. Thank you for your business 😊 Sharon & Mike
Great Bourbon Trail Property
This is an absolute great property to stay at when visiting bourbon country. We had planned a trip to Sonoma Valley but the wild fires changed our plans so we booked this at the last minute. Sharon is a great host, knowing that we had to cancel our trip to Sonoma, she had two bottles of California wines in the kitchen along with a variety of breakfast items, granola bars, juice, plenty of fresh fruit; she asked about our preferences so that we wouldn't need to worry about it upon our arrival.
We visited a few distilleries during the day and come back late afternoon. We had a couple of fires in the evening while playing horse shoes and corn hole games. Friendly area as everyone who drove by would smile and wave. Very comfortable and open floor plan to visit with friends/family. Old beautiful Catholic church in town, again the parishioners were very friendly. We've stayed at several VRBOs across the country and this one is at the top.
Several distilleries within 30 to 60 minutes. Maker's Mark and Buffalo Trace (90 minutes) were the best tours. Great unique, fun property and a fantastic host in Sharon. Highly recommend.
John, thanks so much for your awesome review! I’m so happy your group enjoyed our home. I would also like to thank you guys for leaving the house in super shape, by far the best ever. I was in and out in half the usual time. I’m happy you noticed the neighbors waving and smiling, that is one of my favorite things about New Hope . I live in Louisville and nothing like that goes on here, and my heart is warmed every time I find myself waving at a passerby. America needs more towns like New Hope. You were wonderful guests and I hope to see you guys back in the future. And thanks again for the awesome wine bottle it’s now part of New Hope Bourbon Stop! Sharon & Mike
Bourbon Style old school
Best stay I've ever had in a VRBO. Sharon went way above and beyond to please her guest. The only thing we as her guest had to do was show up. All questions were answered promptly, wood for the fire pit, and lots of goodies to nibble on. If ever back in the area, I hope this home is available. Thank you Sharon!
