Great spot for several reasons

  • 5 of 5

This is a great spot for both my husband and I...it's a quiet area. The only noise is from the stream across the road - which is pleasant...and yes a little activity on the road itself but nothing that keeps a person from relaxing and/or enjoying the sights and sounds of nature from the deck or screened in porch. We enjoyed a fire on the screened porch a couple of evenings and the grill was amazing. My husband did a bit of fly-fishing...we hiked a bit...enjoyed the scenic overlooks...and Mag Pie's is a great farm-to-table restaurant...we also hit the array of shops in Brevard...and the cabin itself is super neat...clean...well stocked...cozy...and the owner, Jim is just wonderful...so easy to work with!

An incredible mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is our third visit to a Trout House Falls property and will not be the last. The fishing cottage was wonderful. It is located just above the French Broad River and the view is mesmerizing. We slept with the window open just to hear the wonderful sound of the river's flow. The property's owner Mr. Sloan is eager to accommodate and is a great host.

Very Nice Home But Not Exactly On The Water

  • 3 of 5

The House is very nice, clean and comfortable but the water access, which I wanted was not exactly what I hoped it would be. There is a somewhat busy street between you and the river and even then it has limited access from where you are. There are a couple of pull offs down farther the main road with trails that lead down to the water. If you are thinking you will walk outside your door and go fishing, you might be disappointed. But you could see and hear the river and stream from the porch.

Quiet, private, lovely cabin with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

My family and I desperately needed a getaway and a chance to unplug, quite literally, from all of life's chaos and demands. Riverfront Cabin provided every opportunity to do that and more. All the necessities are provided - just fill the fridge, bring some books and games (or whatever makes you happy) and prepare to relax. We went on hiking adventures with our girls during the day - seeing the amazing trails and waterfalls, taking photos, enjoying the more temperate weather. Then we would come back to take a great shower (the rain head does not disappoint), relax on the screen porch to the sounds of the water rushing just outside, and prepare dinner. The grill and kitchen are top-notch, although our most memorable dinner was roasting hot dogs and making s'mores in the fireplace on the screen porch! Memories were definitely made here! Everyone had fun, relaxed, and had enough space to breathe. I can't say enough about this place. Thank you for letting us stay at your special cabin!

This wonderful cabin is one of the best places we have ever stayed!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin on the river was everything it is advertised to be and more. I am a writer and needed a quiet spot for a couple of weeks to work on a project. The back porch overlooking the river was the perfect, inspirational spot for me! I sat there long hours every day. We are also hikers, and the proximity of this cabin to the nearby state and national parks was wonderful. The cabin itself is not only beautifully decorated, but such an easy place to live for a while. The amenities are terrific, and the kitchen is top rate. We will definitely be staying here again - hopefully soon!
