I've stayed in many airbnb/home rentals, this place was the most immaculate and comfortable I've ever stayed in, and the owner was super helpful.
Not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said, but this cabin/location/setting is simply an amazing place to visit. The cabin itself truly feels like a home and not a simple vacation rental. Attention to detail and quality of the furnishings is top notch. Listening to the constant rushing of the stream waters while relaxing in front of the fireplace on the deck was pure heaven. The cabin is already equipped with many kitchen amenities such as paper towels, spices, aluminum foil etc, so you might want to take stock of what is already there before making a trip to the store. We spent our mornings and early afternoons hiking/exploring and then I would build a fire for the Mrs. so she could cozy up with a book while I fished for trout in the stream. Fishing was great! It is delayed harvest right now, though. We also went on the waterfall tour with Craig. We highly recommend it. He took us to 8 different falls and we never saw another person. They weren't as majestic as the huge falls at Dupont State Park (also highly recommended), but they were all still beautiful. This is truly amazing country for those who enjoy the outdoors. Thanks Jim!! We cant wait to come back!!!!
This was the perfect cabin! From the setting right across from the river, to the beautiful attention to detail inside. The outdoor screened in porch with fireplace was a go-to every evening. The comfy bedrooms and bathroom were very well planned out. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into this cabin and the desire to please its visitors is evident. Looking forward to planning a trip next year!
Secluded and awesome during the peak week of the leaves changing in the mountains. Simply fabulous watching fly fishing people in the French Broad River right off the deck with a warm cozy fire. The accommodations were exactly how described in the listing. Overall clean throughout the cabin and well stocked kitchen with everything from pots, pans, silverware ( darling fish silverware ), dishes, glasses and any tool you might need to cook a feast. Comfortable Bed and wonderful powerful shower !!! The awesome grill made it wonderful to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner on daily since a lot of the restaurants were booked. We at by candlelight every night on one of the two decks overlooking the French Broad River. We will definitely consider booking in the near future. We loved the peace, quite and luxury of the cabin. It was intimate for the two of us and just what we needed to unwind. Painted the fall scenery all around us, fly fished, read a real book, and enjoyed being at this precious cabin. It was always nice after riding the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest to come "home" to a well appointed and loved cabin. You could tell the owner of the cabin put a lot of love and time into the cabin to make it enjoyable for the company occupying the property. Anyone that wants to hear the river, be secluded, hidden from the crowds, snuggle up to a real fireplace on the deck, unwind with peace and quite, grill steak to hamburgers, and enjoy the amenities of a well appointed cabin, this is the one !
To be honest, at first we were worried about the location? Honestly we did not know there was a road between the cabin and the river. Road did have some traffic at times during the day and we were worried about our kids there. After settling in the "mountain life" took over. We had the time of our lives for the next week at the cabin. The sounds of the rolling river, nights by the fire on the porch, board/card games with the family, meals on the grill. And all these things are right there. Rosman is a great little town, close enough if you want to shop in Brevard or explore parks in the area, and far enough for you to feel "away". Waterfall tour is a must! Craig Miller was one of the best guys I have ever met. He made the trip and what he showed us was truly amazing. On our own we did Sliding Rock at Pisgah and looking glass falls. Went to Dupont forest and Cedar Mountain. Did gem mining and river tubing at Bear Creek. Horseback riding at Pisgah stables. At the cabin we went fly fishing every morning, caught my first trout right in front of the cabin. My son caught a smaller fish down the east fork a bit. Even had our own tubes to ride down the river by the cabin. We had a busy week and still had time to relax. The owner Jim and I only spoke on the phone a couple times, but he was very helpful and informative. He will answer all the questions you have and was very nice. My family thanks you and so do I.
A perfect place, listening to the water run over the rocks winding it's way through the beautiful sceanic view. I spent most of time on the porch with my book while my husband walked down to the river and fished. Our evenings were spent cooking on the grill and talking. The trouthouse is a delightful place. Each time we visit I notice all the special touches in the house that make this a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. Thank Jim for sharing.
