About Chris Marino
We are the fourth generation of family to own this home. Continuing the families decision to settle in the "Pelham Bay" section of the Bronx, we continue to enjoy the privacy and accessibility of this area and this home. We love the seasons and the special outdoor activities of the 4 season in NYC. Were amateur local foodies too, so don't hesitate to ask or check out or guide to local restaurants and attractions.
Chris Marino purchased this House in 1950
Why Chris Marino chose Bronx
Our family arrived in the United States a century ago in search of a better place and a better life. Our NYC Hideaway is one of the final places where we call “Home”. Honoring our family’s decision to settle in New York City in search of a better life we look forward to sharing their vision with you. We look forward to having you as our guest while truly enjoying a better way of staying and appreciating your time in New York City.
What makes this House unique
Our fully fenced (6' tall fence with coded security lock) tranquil backyard garden, rich with vegetables, flowers, and grapevine; its a rare treat in a vacation rental. Enjoy sitting on our authentic Bronx "Stoop" made of genuine New York Mined Blue stone, you'll get to meet and appreciate how nice the neighborhood residents are, and you'll leave felling like your one of us. Christmas in The Bronx
We spend a lot of time visiting and staying with family in the Bronx. This year we decided to find a place to stay for the holiday. What a delightful surprise to find this beautiful and comfy apartment 5 minutes away from my mom! The apartment is tastefully updated, clean with a terrifically comfortable bed. We slept very well. The owner Chris was very attentive from the minute we chose to stay through VRBO. We arrived to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the spacious living room. We were treated to coffee, tea, and snacks in the morning and evening. We will definitely stay here again and will be recommending to family and friends.
Nyc hideaway is AWESOME
Chris was more than helpful with every aspect of our trip from getting a driver from airport to the rental, to recommendations for food, fun and site seeing. Chris's place is spotless and updated. It was perfect for us.
Thanks so much Jodi for you kind words. I love to act as a personal concierge for my guests, my primary concern is to know that my guests have a great time and love our amenities. I claim to run a "Resort Vacation Home" and am glad that you have felt that way from your experience. I hope to have you both back on our next trip to New York City.
Wonderful Summer Stay!
I had a 2 week class in NYC and wanted to find a comfortable space for me and my partner and pooch. This was the perfect getaway! After a long day of class, I could come home to a spotless space, with a gourmet kitchen and cook a nice evening meal then go for a walk through the neighborhood or hop on the subway and head into Manhattan. Chris was a wonderful concierge who provided great tips and information throughout the stay, but was never intrusive in any way. I highly recommend this spot!
Thanks Kristen, It was so nice having you stay. The reason we call the home “NYC Hideaway” is because we are located in an often-unexpected “Hidden Gem” part of New York City and our neighborhood and property is so clean, quiet, safe, and relaxing. To top things off we “We love dogs” and we hope yours enjoyed our "Serta" dog bed that we keep very clean and provide for our K9 guests. “Wishing you all the best” and looking forward to seeing you again at “NYC Hideaway” whenever you visit New York City, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, Upstate New York or Western Connecticut.

Truly a NYC hideaway
A great place to stay while we explored the city. Even though we did not meet the host, it was like he took care of us every step of the way. The property is lovely and comfortable and cozy with all the amenities. So many little personal touches that make for a warm welcome and comfortable stay. Highly recommend it and will be our place to stay for our future trips to the area.
Thanks for this great review of our “Resort Vacation Home”. Your comments really help travelers see how easy it is to access the Subway and enjoy excursions in Manhattan when staying here at “NYC Hideaway”. We are so glad that you enjoyed your vacation and especially, how you enjoyed returning home to our property to relax after all your fun excursions. We hope you stay with us again on your next visit to New York (and we are only a short distance to New Jersey, Upstate New York, western Connecticut and long island).
A Real Home Away from Home
Really Nice Clean Home, Wonderful Treats at the Beginning and at the End of Day...Better than a 5 Star Hotel! Thank you for everything!!!
Thanks so much for letting other guests see how we differ from others. We truly work hard to be a “Resort Vacation Home” and when guests as yourself see and feel it, it makes it all worthwhile. Your comments make it easy for inquiring guests to understand the difference and the “Value” of choosing to stay here at “NYC Hideaway”. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you, your family, and friends whenever you return to New York, Northern New Jersey, Long Island, and western Connecticut, which are all within 30 minutes of our home.
