This classic 1500 s.f. shingled Cape Cod cottage is located off Davisville Road in East Falmouth, a little over one mile from Menauhant Beach on Vineyard Sound. Downtown Falmouth and many other beach options are within a 4-5 mile radius. The home is located on a lovely quiet residential street and features a spacious back deck with patio furniture, a table for four with umbrella, and a large yard with a hammock. We have a charcoal grill. Driveway will accommodate 3-4 cars. The open living/dining/kitchen area is great for entertaining. The bedrooms are cozy, two upstairs and two down for plenty of privacy. There is a wood burning fireplace for chilly Fall evenings!
We have a PC in the small bedroom on the first floor with a printer/scanner. We have Comcast wifi. There is a new Vizio flat screen 42' TV in the living room with a DVD player, and anothe TV in the partially finished basement. We have a small selection of DVD's. We also have an extensive library in the basement that includes fiction and non-fiction, paperback mysteries and thrillers, history, military, genealogy, poetry and nature for our guest enjoyment. We have a notebook and basketfull of local brochures and menus.
The upstairs bedrooms have window AC's. We also have four fans that can be used where needed. The fist floor has three screened doors and numerous windows that we keep open in hot weather.
The home is well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, two sets of dishes, two sets of flatware, lobster pots, baking pans, etc. There are many additional pots and pans and broiler pans on the shelving in the garage that are available to our guests.
Visitor Beach Passes are available at Surf Beach, and this covers parking. You do not need a pass if you walk or bike to the beaches. Parking without a pass cost $10. You can also purchase a clamming license at City Hall. There is a clam rake in the garage, and clamming can be done on the weekend at Bourne Pond, about a 1 1/2 miles away. We also four beach chairs and four beach towels.
Easy scenic drive along the ocean into downtown Falmouth where you will find many good grocery and fish market options. There are several farm stands in the area. Nearby, Tony Andrew's Farm offers fabulous corn and farm raised vegetable in the late summer! In recent years, many new restaurants have been opened throughout Falmouth, Woods Hole and Mashpee, all within 10 miles of the house. Woods Hole and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard are just a quick drive. Biking, walking and running are prevalent in our Davisville neighborhood.
This charming home is a great location for your Falmouth vacation!
This property is charming, well maintained, and has all the comforts of home. It fit our needs perfectly, and for a very reasonable price! For a couple of days we had 8 people sharing the house and we were all very comfortable. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and it's a short drive to any number of beaches and other Cape Cod attractions. The owner is fantastic - very hospitable and quick to respond to all questions. I would definitely recommend this property!
We had such a great time at this house. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you could possible need for a vacation on Cape Cod. Nancy goes out of her way to make you feel at home and you really feel like a guest. Can't wait to stay again next year!
