Come discover "Brown Log Cabin Retreat". This beautiful three bedroom, three bath will excite you the minute you drive up. On rainy days you can challenge the kids to a game of ping pong or after a long day of sightseeing, sit back and star gaze from the hot tub.
You can enjoy your early morning coffee on the front porches taking in the great mountain views, or enjoy evenings star gazing from the front porches. Snuggle up during the winter evenings in front of the wood burning fireplace. You have views, convenience, and location.
If you can bring yourself to leave the cabin, there is a lot to discover in the area, i.e., restaurants, horseback riding, golf, fishing, shopping, skiing, tubing, white water rafting, antiques, festivals, the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Harrah's Casino and hiking.
You are only 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 45 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and 45 minutes to Asheville, North Carolina. You can take a picnic lunch and enjoy the Smokey Mountain Parkway, only 30 minutes away or enjoy a train ride on the Great Smokey Mountain RR in Dillsboro, North Carolina.
We absolutely love Maggie Valley, NC. Could not image being any where else when we retire. We built this home and have used it for family vacations and are doing vacation rentals too.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2001
My husband and I built this home because Maggie Valley, NC., has always been an extremely special place to me. My grandparents took us there every year when we were kids and I have always had such fond memories growing up that I continued to take my kids and now my grandkids. All of whom have experienced the same things that I have done as a child.
We are located in the heart of Maggie Valley, but, you are 3600 ft up the mountain. It is a great place to ride motorcycles or drive to experience the beautiful scenery of the area. You are close to Ghost Town in the Sky, Cherokee, Gatlinburg, Asheville, and many other areas. Just go 30 to 45 minutes in any direction.
Kathy Brown the owner literally saved my family's vacation and potentially saved our lives! I reserved a different log cabin that was much smaller. Kathy Brown contacted me and advised me the roads to that cabin were iced over and required 4 wheel drive and chains (neither of which I have). Through the goodness of her heart she offered to let us stay in this much larger more luxurious cabin, that was accessible without chains and 4 wheel drive. I'm so grateful to you Kathy for saving our family vacation. You didn't have to do that but you did; and because of you my family will have memories that last a lifetime! Thank you so much for being an awesome person. The cabin was beautiful and had every amenity anyone could hope for!
Our family had a lovely time at this log cabin. The bedrooms on the master and upstairs are enormous and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of space. Nice touch having a high chair available for young ones, as we traveled with our one year old granddaughter. The mountain driveway was very steep and if snowed or iced up you would have a real challenge getting up or down. Kitchen needs a bit of updating. As we endured some rain on the trip the downstairs game room was a nice relief. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place for you. We had six adults and one child and were comfortable. Location is close to the ski area with shops, a grocery store, and beautiful catholic church within driving distance. Be careful if you drive a luxury or small car, as you are required to cart off all of your trash upon checkout and bring it to a trash center a few miles away. This could be problematic if you weren't expecting to do this. Also, unlike other places that we rent, you are not able to just run the dishwasher upon leaving...note on the fridge said that dishwasher must be emptied out before leaving. Overall, a delightful mountain getaway.
We are back from 2 weeks in this wonderful cabin. The cabin is more then we expected and accommodated our needs perfectly. The rooms are big and spacious, king size beds are very comfortable, everything was very clean and ready when we arrived. Parking our motorcycles in the garage at night a definite plus. The driveway took a little getting use to, but we were able to master it quickly. I highly recommend this cabin!!!
had a great week in this spacious and comfortable cabin. we always enjoy the many things to see and do. the cabin was well appointed and perfectly located off the beaten path but only a few minutes drive to town. the drive way is a little steep but not bad and I'm from flat south Alabama (ROLL TIDE).
Spent 3 wonderful nights in your home and we all loved it. The house suited the six of us great. The drive way was a little hard at first but we finally managed getting up the drive and down with our bikes. Can't wait to go back. I hope to be back in the mountains come April. Again, Kathy thanks so much for the use of your home.
There are mountains, waterfalls, craft events, festivals and various rallies throughout the year. There is always something to do or you can just sit back and enjoy the scenery. Home is located 3600 ft up the mountain. You can see the leaves change, visit the ski resort in the winter months, or enjoy a game of golf. There are a number of golf courses located nearby. Enjoy the unique shoppes of Waynesville, Asheville, and Cherokee. Maggie Valley is an extremely unique and great area that is centrally located to many activities, i.e., white water rafting, antiques, horseback riding, tubing, restaurants, Cherokee Indian Reservation, Harrah's Casino, and the list goes on and on.
