we rented the 3 bed appartment and in all honesty the views from this particular appartment were second to none.the pool area was immaculate and well supervised, the snack bar was well equiped with friendly staff.these are private appartments and the security was great(intercom access). the location was a little out of it but a 10 min stroll took you to many restraunts and bars. there are a few small beaches directly across a main road (which is very busy) with pedestrian crossings. there is a steep hill to climb up to the appartment block so i would not recommend for elderly or disabled.there are some very nice local bars and a great supermarket at the bottom of the hill. all in all we loved this appartment and would recommend it to any of our friends. have to say public transport was great and relatively cheap approx 5 mins and £1 will take you to the marina area with its extensive bars and restraunts and the buses run well past midnight. there is little entertainment close by for older children(disco/karaoke) but we had two 15 yr olds with us and they still had a great time. i hope this has been useful.
Thank you very much.
We work to give the best of us.
The apartment was situated in an amazing position, right on the coast, with three good-sized pools and a nearby supermarket/restaurants. The beach was literally across the road and we had amazing views of the coastline from both balconies. The apartment was very clean, with no bugs at all, the rooms were very spacious, especially the bathrooms, which are much bigger than the pictures suggest!
Elena (the apartment owner) was incredibly helpful and friendly and made our stay much easier. She was always easy to find and obviously knows the area very well.
The area has lots of things to do, particularly on the beaches- and Aqualand Torremolinos, the butterfly park and the Buddhist temple are definitely worth a visit. Night life was good, but if you are going on holiday specifically for nightlife I would recommend either coming in the height of summer, when there are more tourists, or being prepared to travel further afield (Malaga, Marbella), because we found that, in July, most of the people in the bars were punters.
Overall, it is a great place! Would recommend it for a girls holiday or a family holiday! We had a lovely time! x
Perfect holiday in ideal family location.
We’ve just had a fantastic Christmas week in this superb apartment. We were a family group of 8, ages from 23 to 65. This was the ideal place for a relaxing winter break. Spacious, clean, beautifully furnished rooms, cosy beds, well equipped kitchen. The apartment owner couldn’t have been more helpful and considerate – she lives in the same building & it’s reassuring to know she’s available if necessary. A welcoming comfy reception area is just inside the main entrance to el Coloso.
This apt has gorgeous views from the balconies across the gardens towards the sea, and balconies get the sun all day from sunrise to sunset. It was sunny & warm for us all week so we got out and about every day–this is an excellent location for bus rides up & down the coast. Bus stops are just a few minutes’ walk away, with supermarkets, bars & restaurants very close by. Buses are regular but some timetables are either missing or confusing, so make sure to ask somebody reliable. Bus drivers are generally very helpful. Fares very reasonable.
There are beautiful beaches across the road from el Coloso, and excellent walks along the prom towards Benalmadena centre (pronounced BenalMADena – emphasise 3rd syllable). Among the many great places to visit, I recommend a bus trip up to Benalmadena Pueblo -the original village settlement high on the mountainside (seen from the apartment) in traditional Andalusian style, & wonderful views from up there.
Finally, a brief mention about the walk up and down the access road between the Coloso building and the main road – it’s only a short distance and not too steep for most people, as even one of our family members who is awaiting a hip replacement op was able to walk it, taking his time of course.
Dear Christine,Thank you very much for writing this beautiful comment.
Our desire is to make guests feel at home, or even better.
Stunning apartment with great sea views
Me and my family (7 people altogether) had a pleasure to rent this apartment this summer. It is very spacious, very well maintained, cosy and great looking apartment. It has great sea views from each room so it was a pleasure to sit in the morning and having a tea and breakfast either in the kitchen with big table or on the terrace (there are two big terraces actually). There is simply everything what you need, even the flat screen tv with sky box or wi-fi connection. Very short walking distance to the swimming pools, beach with very nice beach bar, local supermarket or bus stop which you can use to go to Malaga city centre. The owner was very friendly and supported us with ordering airport transfers etc. I do recommend!
We went on a girls holiday in September,we have stayed in Benalmadena many times but this is the first time we have re-booked an apartment. We had a nice friendly welcome from Elena who is on hand most of the time as she lives in the building and is very helpful and the apartment was clean and spacious,if I could change anything it would be a better shower in the en-suite and air con although all the large windows open and being so high up you can get a breeze. Although a little way out it has it,s own attractions, the pool area is spacious and there is a great beach bar Pericanos across the road, and the supermarket will deliver which is great because the hill is a bit steep if you are laden with shopping (great for a bit of excercise to walk off the night before!) As I say the best review we can give it is we have re-booked.
We greatly appreciate the precise details in order to continue improving.
Sunny holiday for 3 children and 6 adults
We stayed in Benalmadena for a week. Our owner was very helpfull and with her help we managed to get a driver to the airport. There were food store 100meters away and it was easy to go to the beach or to the restaurant, because it was near at everything (and bus to Torremolinos and to marina went in a cost line). So it was perfect place for us. It was pity that two of those pools weren´t open at that time, but still there were lot´s of things to do.
The place is certainly worth of going!!!
The Costa Del Sol is a name given to the almost 300 km of coastline. The municipality of Benalmadena is divided in three parts, Benalmadena Pueblo, Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel. Torrequebrada is immersed in a relaxed atmosphere in Benalmadena Costa. Within few minutes walk, there are many activities to choose and places to visit, golf, minigolf, beach, Marina, sea life, Tivoli world, Parque de la Paloma, Selvo marina, Telesférico, museum (Piccaso), nightlife in Marina with night clubs and very close only 2 minutes walking the famous Hotel Casino Torrequebrada with dinner and Show in Sala Fortuna. The best Spectacular Flamenco and international show on the Costa del Sol. Golf: The Torrequebrada Golf Club is just 2 km away. The 18 holes that it has are situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains. It is rich in topical vegetation and birds. The Torrequebrada Golf Course has large number of lakes and strategic placed bunkers, every hole is a different experience for the player. The average temperature is around 18 degrees centigrade during the whole year. Even in winter, it does not fall under 14 during the day. The rainfall is moderate, a fact which always guarantees a pleasant holiday. The Costa del Sol has three hundred sunny days per year. This good weather is favoured by the constant sea breezes and the protective mountains situated next to the seaside. For all this, it is also calls Costa del Golf.
