The sheer size and character of this beautiful house overlooking the vast expanse of Sandymount Strand on Strand Road where the houses (which rarely come on the market) are spacious with gracefully proportioned rooms. Our architect did a magnificent job retaining the feel of a period property yet creating individual separate and totally private apartments on the ground floor of the house which was built in 1898.
The unique benefits of this property are its fantastic location..In the most sought after Dublin neighbourhood. The large exclusive properties, mostly 18th and 19th century are owned by politicians, executives and internationally acclaimed artists and poets! All whom chose this special road because of the fantastic Strand opposite the houses. plus the proximity to the city step and the gorgeous quaint Village Green . Just step across the road to enjoy bracing or cooling walks on the sands and refreshing sea breezes ...Hard to imagine we are only minutes from the very heart of Dublin City!!
"We enjoyed our holiday in Sandymount very much. The apartment was clean and cosy and provided everything that is needed. The bus route to the city centre is a few steps away. Therefore we could spend the day in Dublin for sightseeing and enjoyed the sea breeze and beach in the afternoon when we came back to Sandymount. For us it was a perfect family holiday and even with a small child everything was great. Our son enjoyed playing on Sandymount beach or Sandymount Green with the other children and we enjoyed a tasteful coffee in one of the many beautiful cafes.

This is such a nice place to stay — we have two children and we all love it so much that we keep coming back! The flat is very cosy and has everything you could possibly need to make your holiday enjoyable.
Iverna, the owner, lives right by and is always available in case you need help.
You are literally in front of the strand which is wonderful to go for long walks on. Sandymount village is a 5 minute stroll away and has a great selection of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. We love the breakfasts and brunches in Java Café! And if that's not enough for you, the bus stops just outside the flat and will take you right into the centre of Dublin city in 15 minutes.
So, all in all, if you're looking for a great place to stay for a trip to Dublin or Ireland, don't look any further!
Our first visit to Dublin and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The apartment was spotless and provided everything we needed. It would comfortably cater for four adults, with comfortable beds for all - and two bedrooms - one double, one single. There was even a fresh vase of flowers to greet us on arrival. An extra bonus was being able to step out into the sheltered patio to relax and enjoy meals in the sunshine. Sandymount is a perfect location for those wanting to escape the bustle and noise of Dublin itself. We had the beach just across the road, and the peaceful character of the village to enjoy and a handy supermarket for our self-catering - yet were just a short walk from the bus stop, with frequent buses into the centre of Dublin (about a fifteen minute journey).
It was a wonderful week - this apartment thoroughly recommended.
We're a family of four. This site was perfect. A short trip by bus or even walk into the city centre. Close to the Aviva and the Dart. Highly recommend.
We stayed here for the Christmas period and it was absolutely fantastic. We have small children and they love coming here. Little touches like Christmas decorations made us really feel at home.It's hard to describe how special the location is — the amazing Sandymount Strand is literally on your doorstep, the village has a brilliant selection of restaurants, pubs and small craft shops as well as a supermarket, and at the same time all the wonders of Dublin City are only 20 mins away on the bus! We love staying here and are always happy to come back. Thanks Iverna for letting this great property!
We had a very giod impression from arrival and everything has been confirmed up to our departure
The property was exactly as described and pictured. It was delightful. Although we arrived approximately 6 hours before the official check-in time the apartment was ready and the owner was there to meet us. She had lists of restaurants, pubs, grocery stores, the bus route to O'Connell Street downtown and the one to the airport - everything we needed for our stay in Dublin. Being from the US, it took us a while to figure out we needed the hub switched on before stove and oven would work, but once we figured that out all was fine. The only thing we never quite got right was the heating system. I couldn't tell if I was turning it on or off. The bedroom at the front of the apartment never really got warm. But the fireplace in the living room did fine for that area. Regardless of the heating issue, I would recommend the property and owner, and would stay there again if at all possible.

This is the ideal base to enjoy all the delights of Dublin.
