About Nimco Mahamud-Hassan
I am from Somalia, my husband and I moved from England to Somerville 14 years ago. We live with our 11 year old son. I teach cooking in Boston. We accept people for who they are. We do not discriminate people on grounds of, their sexual orientation, religion, race, culture, gender or anything else society deems "otherness". All decent human beings are welcome in our house!
Why Nimco Mahamud-Hassan chose Winter Hill
This a lovely home. We have been fixing it ever since we moved in 13 years ago. It is clean and comfortable. If I was traveling I would want to stay in a place like this. I honestly think you would be glad you chose to stay.

Comfortable, Cozy and Clean
Lovely hosts in a quiet, pretty area of town made our whirlwind trip to Boston a huge success. Each bedroom has its own heat and a/c and the bathroom boasts a Rainforest showerhead! One morning I took a relaxing walk in the neighborhood. A great way to start my day! And I won’t even mention the best coffee and pita ever 😉
You and your family were a joy to host. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Would stay again
Fabulous Sommerville Stay
Staying with Nimco was the highlight of our trip! The space is beautifully decorated displaying all Nimco's collections in a unique and delightful way. The rooms were clean and bright! Loved the house and host!! We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves and get to know a wonderful person in the process!
The most gracious host and pleasant experience.
My family of 4 stayed in the third floor of this wonderful home. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We had the floor to ourselves. My husband and I stayed in the light filled larger room with a king bed and our teens stayed in the smaller room with the two twin beds. We loved the clean and comfortable accommodations. The true joy of staying here was the host. Nimco could not have been more generous and accommodating. She offered us coffee each morning as well as breakfast. At night we sat up and chatted. She made a connection with each one of us.
The location was a simple drive to downtown Boston or Cambridge. My daughter and I walked to nearby Davis Square to shop and eat. It was a truly wonderful experience that none of us will forget.
A delight and an experience of the very best kind
If you have the opportunity to stay at Nimco's home, don't forego it! She and her family are warm and welcoming and the space that they have created for guests is thoughtfully and lovingly curated for the utmost comfort. We stayed for two nights as a family of four, slept wonderfully, were treated as friends, fed deliciously, and really did not want to leave. We normally are pretty reserved but staying in Nimco's family home felt natural and easy, not least of all because each family member was so utterly kind and lovely. They are also utterly fascinating conversation partners! Purely in terms of accommodations, each aspect is tended to and is of the utmost quality, even to discerning tastes. We were cozy and relaxed throughout our stay. I very very highly recommend this property and hostess!
We really enjoyed our stay.
Space is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. High quality furnishings and bed linens. Host, Nimco, is a neat lady and very responsive.
It was pleasure to host you and your beautiful family. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. You and your family are always welcome here.
All the best,
