About Riverside Properties Reservations, Darillyn

16-year residents of Central Washington

Riverside Properties Reservations, Darillyn purchased this house in 2004

Why Riverside Properties Reservations, Darillyn chose Central Cascade Mountains

Longtime admirers of Leavenworth's culture and landscape, we were captured by the entrancing beauty of this valley prospect. We are honoured to be its stewards.

What makes this house unique

Painter's views repose behind every window of the house, revealing the surrounding 11 acres of forest and pear orchard, a yawning valley, and unadulterated natural beauty. A haven, nature's own art, a respite from the world.

Great family vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time at River Heights! The house is amazing! We really enjoyed seeing the deer in the orchard and the tubers floating past. We loved how close it is to town and even the wineries. I can't wait to go back. We had my 81 year old dad and the place was perfect for him; plus my 11 year old and my 14 year old nephew, there was something for everyone!

Owner's Response: Catherine, thank you for sharing your favorite moments with us! River Heights does have a little something for everyone. It is nice to know how well the Heights accommodated all the differing age groups. With most of the living space on one level, it’s an easy access for those who don’t favor going up and down stairs and the kids can feel catered to with the roomy daylight basement hangout!

What a lovely place for a vacation and a wedding!

  • 5 of 5

We were searching for a suitable place to have a small, private wedding when we found your River Heights home on VRBO. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the home, the loft, the grounds, or the town of Leavenworth. We especially loved the cooler temperatures having come from Texas, Southern California, and Louisiana in August. All those attending the wedding from both families thoroughly enjoyed our time together and the beautiful countryside surrounding us. Our wedding day was picture perfect, the location was breathtaking, the ceremony was beautiful, and many precious memories were made. We are so glad we found River Heights. Many thanks for sharing it with us.

Owner's Response: Jeff ~ Your visit to the Heights this August was the "peak" time to see the orchard pear trees abundant and just waiting to be harvested. It is our sincere hope that any visit to the Heights is refreshing and abundantly fruitful. Thank you for coming out!

Exceeded our expectations!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Five family members congregated here from Washington, California and Texas for our mother's Celebration of Life service in Wenatchee. We were absolutely delighted with the property as it was beautiful, peaceful and serene. The view was out of this world. Some of us had stayed previously at another property of the owners so we were expecting the same quality, but this really did exceed our expectations. We found everything we needed in the kitchen which was very neat and clean. We would recommend this property to anyone.

Fantastic, but with a few issues.

  • 4 of 5

The home was expansive and beautiful with a huge, well stocked kitchen. We rented during the Christmas holiday week, and had the maximum number of occupants. The sofa bed had two large folds/bumps and was too uncomfortable for the adults. They kindly offered the chalet/loft for a cleaning fee, which worked out fine. However, they charged a high fee for laundering "excessive" linens. The directions explicitly stated to put all linens in the basket and did not say to launder them, so I assumed they had their own method figured out. Given the size of our group, there were a lot of linens, but that was the capacity for the home. I asked why the cost was so high, and the response was that we had already benefitted from the chalet (which I think is a separate issue) and that it took 8 hours of staff time to wash the towels and linens. I would have been glad to do the laundry ahead of time, or at least gotten a head start, but it was not communicated in their very detailed cleaning instructions. I also was unhappy that they were supporting their position with the Chalet as if we owed them additionally. The holiday rate is already pricey, and I felt nickel and dimed. But, if you have a smaller group than the maximum and do laundry, it is a fantastic place.

Owner's Response: May 2015 ~ Updates to this home: fresh new look, new furniture and design in daylight basement. Futon and old sleeper sofa replaced by two new queen sleeper sofas! (Initial Response) We had not received a complaint about the sleeper sofa in the past, so when these guests told us it had been uncomfortable for the person(s) using it, we offered our neighboring Loft suite (a separate rental for 2-4 people) for the remainder of their stay. We hoped that would increase their enjoyment of the home and make their visit over the holidays a more pleasant and memorable experience. We typically absorb extra cleaning hours, as we realize there will be groups that represent a little more work, and some that require a little less. But, when our Housekeeping Supervisor compared the work encountered with this group to other turnovers serviced, he recommended we apply an additional fee. We value feedback from our customers and do attempt to make every guest experience a good one. Decisions to apply charges are made with a great deal of thought and internal discussion, and always with the desire to be fair to the guest. We will place a high priority on replacing that sleeper sofa with something more comfortable!

Boredom impossible. In summer you can hike, cycle, swim, rock-climb, raft, kayak, tube, fish, camp, or picnic. In winter you can sled, snowshoe, ice-skate, ski alpine or nordic, sleigh-ride, ice-climb, or, if you dare, polar-dip into Lake Wenatchee. For culture, there are myriad concerts and art shows, local theater, a public library, bars and a brewery to browse, and the Bavarian Village hosts a smattering of year-round festivals such as Icefest, Maifest, Autumn Leaf, Oktoberfest, and Christmas Lighting.
