About the property

Large 2 Bedroom Apartment, Sleeps Up To 6, Walking Distance To Theatreland

This is a fabulous apartment set in the heart of London, moments away (by foot) from many London attractions.

The apartment is quiet at night as the bedrooms are at the rear of the building away from any possibility of noise. Moments away are some excellent of bars, restaurants and shops, and parks.

This cosy apartment is ideal for families on vacation and business travellers alike. It has a double bed in the bedroom, a further double in the smaller second bedroom, a double sofa bed in the lounge, and semi separated kitchen; it can easily accommodate 6 adults OR a mixture of adults and children.

A cot and high-chair can be made available for babies/toddlers upon request.

The perfect apartment for business travellers or visitors to London who want to live like true Londoners; in an area with lots of charm, character and history.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This is a nice apartment rental with restaurants, bars, theaters, and metro stops all within walking distance. We had 6 in our party, 3 teenagers all the way up to a 70+ y.o. grandmother so easy access was important. We stayed for 3 nights. The two bedrooms were fine, mattresses firm and not too over used. The couch pulls out to fit two more. The sofa / sleeper has futon style mattresses and not the type with springs. That was actually a big plus since the spring style usually comes with a thin foam padding where you can feel the springs. OK for small children, not great for anyone over 100 lbs. With this many travelers, two bathrooms was a hard find and especially at our price range. Kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The apartment is located closest to Tottenham Court station (under 5 min walk) although it was closed for our stay. The Leicester Sq and Piccadilly stations were both very close (5-7 minute walk), and Oxford as well (10 minutes). Several theaters were within 5 minutes walk. Restaurants all over the place (Dishoom for Indian was one of our favs). Chinatown was really close.

Other miscellaneous travel tips. 1) This is accessible via the Piccadilly line from LHR. Take it to Leicester Sq and walk. It may seem like a long haul between Leicester Sq and this unit, especially with luggage and unfamiliarity of the area (you might take a few wrong turns, wheeled bags over cobbles, tight sidewalks), but next time I come, I would take the tube. 2) Download a London Metro / Tube phone application. 3) Download an app that you can use without mobile. Our favorite was Triposo. It downloads the map and uses GPS which doesn't require cell service so we almost never got lost. 4) Figure an alternate strategy for contacting the host. Our traffic was horrible coming into London due to a road closure and it was a pain to get hold of the host without cell. If your driver is nice, you can ask to borrow their phone.

2nd stay - perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Location can't be faulted. 2nd stay for us for a theatre weekend. Sean has welcomed us both times and is the consummate professional. Apartment is clean and furnished with everything you need. Street noise is minimal but frankly, if you want silent night don't stay in soho! Only constructive feedback is the same as last time - black out shades in the bedrooms would make a world of difference as the morning sun does come knocking early which is fine if you're schedule means you want to be awake at 6am. Overall great place, great management and we won't hesitate to stay again. Good value for the location.

Very central and great base

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time at this flat in central London. I was met on time and the managing agent gave me a full run-down of the apartment's features. I am originally from London, so knew it could be noisy, however, the bedrooms at the back with very silent and the beds were comfortable so a decent sleep was had by all. The construction noise was there during the day and was a little obtrusive but this is obviously not the fault of the owners. There was some issue with cleanliness in one of the bedrooms but this was quickly addressed by the agent. The wifi was unreliable at times but this was fine as I was out most of the time. The flat is very central to everything great in London and I would definitely stay there again.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Very convenient location. Although on an active street the apartment was fairly quiet. Clean and well stocked with everything needed. Only minor feedback would be that blinds in bedrooms need replaced, ideally with blackouts, as they do let through quite a lot of light

So-so in Soho

  • 3 of 5

We were two kids (7 and 12) and three adults in this place.

The good:

- location is fantastic: great for musical theatre, shopping, and easy access to most of London

- the bedrooms are in the back of the building so it's pretty quiet -- for Soho -- though if someone is sleeping on the pull-out sofa in the living room, they will have noisy street/pub sounds all night every night

- the building is secure and felt very safe

- it's roomy and bright

The bad:

A lot of stuff was broken or did not work properly. Some of it has been noted in reviews from several months before we stayed there -- you get the sense they are not repairing or doing upkeep on the unit. Stuff that was not working/broken:

- tub stop leaks so taking a bath is a race against time

- the blinds do not raise properly and one window is (still) missing them altogether

- the kitchen sink stopper has broken off the chain and is easily lost

- the freezer badly needs a defrosting; it's too nasty for food storage

- by contrast, food stored in the fridge will freeze due to above

- the dishwasher does not get utensils clean; it needs maintenance

- the toilet seat in the ensuite has a broken hinge (watch out!)

- the wi-fi was very spotty and unreliable

- the whole place could use a good deep cleaning -- or at least a solid dusting

For those with kids, it's worth noting that the unit is three doors down from a strip club, though to be honest, it's a pretty under-stated strip club. Also, on weekends, the street noise gets amped up quite a bit. We had one especially loud night when the restaurant on the main floor of the building hosted a party. Finally, the construction across the street is still going on, and now there's construction behind the building too, so you get it on all sides.

The guys running the place seem organized and competent in most things, though clearly they are harried and rushing from unit to unit. They were polite and met us on time, etc. It just seems like they are not much for maintenance and upkeep.

Overall, if we were traveling with family again we'd go for someplace a bit less noisy, busy and a bit better kept up.

Great pied a terre in the center of london

  • 4 of 5

You couldn't ask for a better location than this cozy two-bedroom. You're a 10-minute walk from Soho Square, the British Museum, the West End theater district and countless (literally) bars and restaurants. You're within a 30-minute walk of most of central London and for what's further, you're close to four different tube stops. The apartment itself is clean and well-appointed and the London Living staff is warm and helpful. The only potential downside is that it is located in the heart of everything so sometimes you get street noise until midnight. And during our stay there was construction going on next door that started at 7 a.m. That said, we would certainly stay there again.

Great location, beware of street noise

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in an extremely convenient location in Soho, an easy walk from many attractions, theater and shopping and surrounded by restaurants and pubs. The management company is professional and responsive, and the apartment itself is modern, clean and relatively comfortable, although the mattresses could perhaps use an upgrade and it would help to have more hooks/racks in the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchen much but did take advantage of the washer/dryer which worked well. Unfortunately there was some damage caused to the apartment by a previous tenant so we were missing a window blind throughout our stay, which was a bit inconvenient in an area this busy.

The one major issue we had (which may not matter at all to some) is that the area is sort of "party central" for London, meaning LOTS of noise from folks standing drinking outside bars. (The area seemed completely safe though, and we didn't notice any issues with drunks, etc.) In warmer months when you need to keep the windows open this can be a problem - particularly when you add in the sound of bottles being tossed into the trash after the bars close, and then the sounds of morning construction as there's currently a huge rebuilding project in the area. The windows did block out a lot of the noise so this may not matter in cooler months, or for folks who are there to enjoy the nightlife.

I also think this apartment is suited best for a party of up to 4 although it can accommodate 6. The ensuite bath doesn't have a door which makes it a bit trickier to share with a lot of people, and there's not a lot of closet space. Overall, we had a good stay despite a few little bumps and the apartment is definitely a good value, hope this helps others looking to book!
