About Lisa or David Gander

Taken at Yellowstone National Park.We are avid cabin renters and decided to get into the business for ourselves.

Lisa or David Gander purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Lisa or David Gander chose Shenandoah Valley

The cabins are part of the farm.We needed to supplement the farm income and loved the cabin business.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lisa and David,

We were absolutly delighted how idyllic this place was. There were so many small details, you seemed to think of everything and everything was very clean. An excellent retreat that allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful country side.We really enjoyed going up to Shenandoah National Park-Skyline and saw a live bear! The hot tub was a bonus and we had a great campfire and bbq one evening.

All in all a 10/10 Thank You,

Abi,Wanehah and Becli,

Best weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in the "goose" for a long weekend with our pups and this cabin was amazing! It had everything we needed and was the perfect getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub and how close to town the cabin was. We are already planning our trip back this summer and we will definitely be staying here again!!

Great Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family of three rented the cabin over the new years weekend and had a great time. The Cabin is great, small and no frills but that's what we were looking for. Had everything we needed. I don't know if we missed it in the description, but the loft had a full size bed as well, which my 4 year old enjoyed. Great location, close to Downtown Luray and to Massanutten for snow tubing. The hot tub was great, and the grill was nice a clean, ready for use and the fire pit was nice to sit by and roast marshmallows. Would stay again and would recommend to friends.

Cute Cabin and Great Water Access

  • 5 of 5

We found this cabin and its location to be just perfect for our needs. We wanted to spend time fishing and floating in the river and letting our dog swim. The river is easily accessible. We appreciate that you are pet friendly. I contacted Lisa a couple of times and she was very responsive and helpful. The cabin is nicely decorated with a rustic cabin charm. Everything is fairly new and clean. We will be back!

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for somewhere to stay with friends who were visiting from the UK. This was just wonderful. It has everything you might need. We used the canoe to paddle down the river, we cooked and ate on the barbecue outside and then to top off a wonderful day - we watched the stars from the hot tub. Just perfect.

Good but not great

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was good as far as having everything we needed. However, if you end up there during rainy days when you cannot grill outside, you will be out of luck with cooking your own food. The kitchen is pretty much non-existent.

I liked the riverfront location and thought that we were getting off to a good start only to be awaken in early morning by trucks, school bus, and cars speeding down the small road that runs right past the cabins to the main road. I was instantly stressed out and knew there was no way that this can be relaxing. If you are looking for a quiet, serene, and secluded location, this is not for you. I will not be renting this place again.

Owner's Response: To clarify, our cabin is in a rural farm setting, and we do have people going to work in the morning and a school bus twice a day. The rest of the time you may see a tractor or 4-wheeler piloted by agriculturalists engaged in usual farming activities. With regard to the kitchen, you will find a stove-top range, a sink, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, a toaster, and a 12-cup coffee maker. However, there is no oven. We advertise our location and amenities honestly. We never advertise the cabins as "secluded" because there are more than one cabin on our 7.5 acre piece of property. VRBO has all this listed -- what the cabins are and what they are not. I wonder if before you rented this cabin you actually read the description of our amenities online. Our cabin is everything we say: great location in a rural setting, beautiful views of the river, birds, and wildlife abound. Thank you, Lisa
