Relax and enjoy this beautifully designed home within walking distance to White Sands Beach and yards away from some of the finest bodysurfing in Kona.

The main part of the house sits above street level with a beautiful partial ocean view. The entry doors open into the living room where you look out across the lanai and pool to the ocean. The kitchen and dining room and master bedroom share this wonderful view. The master bedroom has a king bed and large bath with marble shower and Japanese soaking tub. It also has its own separate access to the pool. You will love the small inviting ocean blue tile pool with rock waterfall. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed with private entrance to the shared bath. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. The studio has a separate entry at street level. It has a bedroom with a king bed , bath and kitchenette. The studio sleeps four with the sofa sleeper and is air conditioned. There is a large flat screen TV and a stereo. It has a large patio and outside seating . About Randy Warren

I am a builder of 30 years now retired. I built my first home on the Island above the airport. It wasn't long before I realized that I had made a big mistake. The pool was to cold to use ,the neighborhood was noisy and access to shopping , beaches etc was not at all what I wanted. I sold and found my present location. We are located just 4 miles south of downtown Kailua pier. Its perfect and I would not change the location for any other place on the Island . We have it all just minutes from the home.

Why Randy Warren chose Kailua-Kona

King Kamehameha made is home just 1 mile from where our house is located. My thought was what better place to build my home . The king had his choice of all the islands .

What makes this house unique

Open air shuttle to shopping , farmers markets full of organic island fruits and vegetables , fine dinning and easy beach access. The home is at the end of a culdesac offering a very quite private experience . Sunset views of the ocean from the Lani and private sun bathing by the pool in the buff if you so desire.

TOO open for my taste! No Curtains in the bathroom.

The driveway leading to the garage was a challenge, it was much more steep than I understood, one of my guest had a recent knee replacement another a heart condition, had I known how steep, I would have chosen a different house. The screen door fell off the first night, tub leaked, the ceiling leaked, the microwave died, I could have done without any of those issues. The view, from the porch, was breathtaking, the house was clean and well appointed.

Owner's Response: Wow your our first guest to have had a problem with the driveway. With the remote opener on the garage door the driveway is easily navigated putting you on the main level of the house. When we had the house designed we wanted to make sure we would have the sunset views you refered to and appreciated. All the windows in the bath are opaque eliminating the need for curtains. Once agian your the first guest to have mentioned it. As for the leak my plumber came the next day only to find that the tub was being filled to the top and overflowing once entered. After his third visit he had you get into a swim suit and fill the tub to the level indicated on the tub and found there to be no problem. The ironman guests who arrived two days after your stay had no problem with the tub. I am truly sorry you did not find the home a 5 star as all the rest of our guests.

Great house & location

This was the perfect house for our family of four. The kids loved simply playing and hanging in the pool (so did the parents). The house itself was very comfortable and well appointed. It's close to Kona, shopping, and only about 1.5 miles from the snorkeling at Kahalu'u Bay. Perfect spot for exploring the Kona side of the island and having a nice pool to cool off in when you get home.

Owner's Response: Glade you enjoyed all that is available so close. Lots of my guest ask what we do when we go to the the house ? My reply is spend as little time as we can in a car . Our location makes that possible. Shopping in Kona is best visited by the open air shuttle. It's a hoot to ride and it goes along the water. Snorkeling is like you pointed out 1.5 mi away ,as well as surfing and surf lessons at the same beach. Than there is always the short walk to white sand beach . Don't forget to book a night dive with the mantas at Keahou bay 2 miles from the house. The home is in a perfect location. Thanks Randy

Fabulous house - perfect for our vacation

The house was spacious with a well equipped kitchen, 3 bathrooms – perfect for a big group. Loved having drinks on the lanai as the sun set. The pool was well utilised by the kids. Great that we could walk to the beach for a morning swim …saw a beautiful sea turtle on the first day. Highly recommend the Manta Ray swim (make sure you book a tour that leaves from Kamehameha III Road – a couple of companies run from there and it is only 10 mins drive south from the house). Some great beaches on the Kona coast for snorkelling.. You definitely need a car to explore the big island – so much to see. Was easy to get a cab when we went out one evening. Everyone in our group loved staying in this house.

Roomy family friendly house

This is a classic Hawaiian experience - From the house it is an easy walk to the beach. The street is very quiet and perfect for families. The lanai is spacious and the pool at your doorstep. Details that are important to us - plenty of glassware, flatware and silverware, pool was clean and not overly treated with chemicals, the owner provides very good beach towels as well as nice newer linens and towels for the house. There is no ac but that was not an issue for us. Be aware the fridge door tends to not quite close so you have to take care to close it properly, otherwise it worked great. The stove and dishwasher worked well, no problems there. The washer and dryer were generously sized and definitely better quality than I have seen in most vrbo rentals. Note the driveway is steep, and could be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Beds are comfy with good quality mattresses. Only minor negative ( which is a Kona wide problem) is the water tastes quite minerally, so bottle water for drinking is recommended for those with sensitive tastebuds. We didn't use the tv so I can't make comments on that. Overall a great property, good value for the location. Would definitely return should we visit Kona again.

Owner's Response: Thank you Julia for highlighting all the things about the home that due make a difference in vacation homes. Our driveway is step which is why we're able to capture the views of the ocean . With the use of the automatic garage door driving up into the garage then puts you at the main level of the home solving mobility issues. One would think that the water would be great in the middle of the Pacific Ocean but it's not . That is why we have a refillable 5 gal container for our guests. There are osmosis machine located thru out Kona .. we use the one at the keahou gas station 1 mile away. 5 gal for $1.30. A bit of a hassle but it saves on recycling that Is not available. The all tile pool allows us to use very little chlorine . I too hate pools that reak of chemicals . We look forward to your return. Thanks Randy
