Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 6 nights in early November. Location of apartment was absolutely perfect. Several blocks from the Central Market, lots of wonderful places to eat steps from the apartment and plenty of small local shops in the area.. Very lively neighborhood, even late at night, but location of bedroom in the rear of the apartment eliminated any issues with noise.

Apartment exactly as described and depicted in photos. Clean & well maintained. There were only 2 of us but the small bedroom located at the top of the steps was certainly adequate for a 3rd adult.

Manuel greeted us exactly at the agreed upon time and spent well over an hour briefing us on the area and places to eat. My advice....follow his suggestions. All the places we visited were excellent. Only thing to be aware of is that Valencians, like many other areas of Spain, eat much later than those of us from the US. Several of the places suggested didn't open until 20:30 and most patrons don't start arriving until 2100 to 2200. Just be aware of this and don't arrive too will find it was worth the wait.

We are already planning a return visit.

Everything we hoped it would be - and plenty more!

  • 5 of 5

We hoped to stay in Manuel's apartment in Valencia after reading all of the great reviews we read and we were not disappointed. Manuel was a great help before we had arrived by very kindly emailing me all of the different transport options from the airport - we chose to get the bus so we could get our bearings on arrival to the city and, as it stopped outside the Central Market - one of the 'must see's in Valencia - was perfect to get to the apartment being not even a 5 minute walk away.

Manuel met us at the apartment with maps, recommendations for bars and restaurants and bus numbers to get to all of the main attractions. This was a great help and saved us quite a bit of money as we were going to buy a weekly metro pass which we didn't actually need as most things are within walking distance, though we did get a bus to the beach with it's lovely promenade and marina, and we got a bus to the City of Arts and Sciences - another couple of great things to see in this wonderful city. We could walk all around the old town which is on the doorstep of the apartment, as is the Biopark - which is again within walking distance through the Turin River Park - if you enjoy walking you won't be disappointed!

The apartment itself was wonderful - two bedrooms (though we only used one), a kitchen with everything you need for self catering, a nice little balcony were you could take in the nightlife and watch the city go by, and a nice sitting room with a dining table. Perfect for our needs! There is also a TV and washing machine though we didn't use these - there is plenty to do without watching television and washing!

We loved Valencia and met some really lovely people everywhere we went. We found some great Irish bars, a couple of gay bars, a few tapas bars and several restaurants and had a great time in all of them.

Whatever you enjoy - from street art to traditional dancing in the squares, quirky bars and eating areas, sightseeing, opera, Europe's largest aquarium, an incredible zoo that is like no other, incredible architecture old and new - then Valencia has it all. And Manuel's apartment is the perfect place to see it all from.

Thank you Manuel - your kindness and friendliness shown to us when we arrived in Valencia carried on through the week with everyone we met making us look forward to a return trip.

¡Magnifico! 🌻

Great for a weekend break

  • 4 of 5

Booking was easy and Manuel provided good directions to find the flat and some information on local bar and restaurants to try. The flat has ample space for 2 and is very well located for the historic area. Nice comfortable bed and bathroom plus a decent sized kitchen with fridge, cooker and microwave. We would have liked a kettle as boiling a pan each time was not ideal and maybe a toaster because the grill was a little hit and miss. Small points really.

We were able to walk to most sights, although the science/aqua park was a bit of a long haul - as we could not find a bus with any space on it. It is a bit misleading on Valencia maps as distances look far but everything was close and relatively easy to find. Great selection of bars around the area with night life going on to early morning. Note - a lot of places do not start opening until 21:00 and the popular ones book up quickly.

A beautiful city, a beautiful apartment

  • 5 of 5

We arrived late and were met by Manuel and Juan Carlos and they were so helpful explaining about places to eat drink and places to visit and how to get there. The apartment was clean and had some essentials which very welcome. It is very central and close to everything there can be a bit of noise at night but this did,nt bother us at all. We would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Valencia.

One word... Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I just stayed in Manuel's stunning apartment in the most perfect location.

Firstly Manuel was so friendly and helpful. He provided us with a map and information on his favourite restaurants which were lovely.

The apartment is beautiful. Very spacious, comfortable, clean and just a pleasure to stay in.

Right in the heart of the historic district this apartment is a must stay if you are visiting Valencia you really will not be disappointed. Thank you Manuel we hope to return one day we have had the best time. Gemma and David

Car: not necessary

Apartment in the old town of Valencia. The best area of Barrio del Carmen, next to Plaza del Tossal, the heart of the neighborhood. You can enjoy walking the historic monuments of the city: the Torres de Quart, Torres de Serranos, Plaza de la Virgen and the Cathedral, the Lonja, the Museum of Carmen, the IVAM, Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

At the end of the street you will find the Central Market, modernist market with nearly 400 small retailers, is the largest center in Europe specializing in fresh produce. There you can buy the best meat, fruit freshly picked from the field, and freshly caught fish from the sea.

Strolling, a couple of streets arrive at the Turia River, the largest urban garden in Spain, where once passed the Turia river and now transformed into a large garden which crosses the city from west to east. For nine kilometers long you can walk, or practice any type of outdoor sport. The Turia garden is bounded by two of the most tourist attractions of the city. On the west side you will find the Bioparc, zoo where animals, vegetation and landscape form a set that invites who travels to discover the complexity of natural ecosystems. And the eastern enjoy the City of Arts and Sciences, space created by architect Santiago Calatrava from where you can enjoy a movie in IMAX screen in the Hemisfèric, an opera at the Palau de les Arts, or just spend a large day with dolphins and other aquatic animals in the Oceanographic.

To reach them from the apartment, nothing easier than taking the bus line 95 that runs through the park Turia and will bring you to the City of Sciences or to the Bioparc.
