Our home is a short walk from the new Glaze Meadow Recreation Center. The Center offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an enormous hot tub, steam room, exercise room, yoga room, and espresso bar. The biking path runs along the back of the property which makes it easy for those morning bike rides.

The home can comfortably sleep 12. Of the three bedrooms, one bedroom on each floor has a queen bed; the second bedroom upstairs has two sets of three bunk beds for a total of six beds in the third bedroom. All linens and towels are provided. Each level has a full bathroom. The home is very child friendly and is smoke and pet free.

There is a lot to do right here on the ranch. There are two championship 18-hole golf courses, canoeing & kayaking, horseback riding and fly fishing. In the winter snow skiing at Hoodoo is a great way to spend the day and is only a 15 minute drive from the ranch. There are some great places to dine out at Black Butte. The Restaurant at the Lodge blends French inspiration with a fresh Northwest flavor, Big Meadow Clubhouse restaurant with its Italian cuisine and the Lakeside Bistro are all great places to dine. The Recreation Center is several minutes up the path and in addition to swimming and exercise opportunities, also hosts a spa with massages and facials, a sports shop with bike, ski, tennis racquets and pickle ball rentals. The indoor area is spacious and uplifting with something for the entire family to do. Twelve of the Ranch's twenty two tennis courts are close by. Nearby is a playground with new equipment and plenty of room for kids to roam. The Center is nicely located in the middle of the ranch and the 30 plus miles of paved bike trails are easily accessible.

Upon arrival, the welcome center will charge an 'access fee on a per person, per night basis. This fee will allow unlimited access to the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, large hot tubs, and tennis courts. Several tennis courts have lights.

The Ranch, an upscale resort community encompassing nearly 2000 acres is about a 12 minute drive from Sisters, a western themed town. Sisters has an endless collection of stores and small town attractions including galleries, furniture, clock store (world famous) attire, jewelry and several ice-cream and espresso shops. The wonderful log Sisters Coffee Shop is a must-see every time.

About Paul Stoltzfus

Hi there, we are a family of 6 who love to spend time together. We started coming to BBR when we were pregnant with our 4th child. We needed a place for an extended family gathering and BBR seemed like a great place for a multigenerational gathering. That was almost 17 years ago and BBR is still our favorite family spot. As our kids have grown, gone off to college and are starting homes of their own, they still look forward to the days we spend at our house together at BBR. We often bring extended family and friends.

Paul Stoltzfus purchased this house in 2005

Why Paul Stoltzfus chose Central Oregon

Our first time to BBR we rented this house. Our kids felt so at home here and over the years we brought others to share it with us. When it was available for purchase we took that opportunity to make a long term investment, not only in the financial aspect but more importantly in the investment of family and friends. It has been a 'peaceful space' for our family and for many others that have shared it with us. Our hope is that as you enjoy our home with your family and friends you can have that since of peace as well!

What makes this house unique

BBR offers a perfect central location to many activities and sightseeing possibilities. Sisters is a wonderful little town to roam around in. It has many unique shops, amazing coffee and wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. There are many biking and hiking trails within 30 min. drive of BBR.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay at your cabin so much. Even the kids commented on how together the family was while there-so nice that we could all hang out in one open living area. Thank you again for sharing with us!

Snug in the snow

  • 5 of 5

This was just the perfect cabin for our winter holiday. Our kids LOVED the triple bunk beds. The cabin was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace. This was our first stay at Black Butte Ranch, and a great starting point for our forays to Hoodoo. The ranch was beautiful - I'd like to visit in the summer - and we appreciated the well-stocked general store and the recreation center with hot tub and indoor pool.

Perfect vacation cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely cabin and ended up extending our trip because it was so enjoyable. It is very spacious and we stayed with 3 kids, 4 adults and had plenty of room. It was perfect to get to glaze meadow pool and we went daily, also right on bike path which kids loved to cruise around. I think price is reasonable for what you get. The only thing that would make it more perfect for us would be a king bed and hot tub....but this is just nitpicking. Property clean, well maintained. Would recommend to anyone. Could not have been a better, more relaxing vacation.

Great Spot!

This was a great place to stay. The house is comfortable, clean and spacious. It was great to have access to the pool and hot tub. There is a daily fee per person that is required when entering Black Butte Ranch. Just something to consider.

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

I have visited this vacation home on several occasions over the past 5 years. This location is great for an escape from the city, for group gatherings, special family time, etc. I even hosted a bachelorette party weekend here once. The house is well appointed with everything you need for time away from home. The lodge was recently renovated and is AMAZING and worth the trip alone to sit in the giant hot tub overlooking the lake and mountains. You are very close to Sisters and everything it has to offer. You are in the wilderness, yet with all the amenities of home. The owners are easy to work with and will help make this a comfortable stay in any way they can. Definitely recommend and will be going back for more.

My family and I vacation at this house numerous times a year and we are always very pleased with our stay. The place has a very cozy atmosphere with an open living room, plenty of seating, and comfortable furniture. The house is situated in a location with little traffic, making it peaceful and quiet.
