This is a beautiful house, it's spacious and comes with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is well equipped with all appliances and crockery. We made use of the gas barbecue on the deck most nights. The air conditioning is fantastic throughout the entire house. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed and there is plenty of storage. If I had to pick something that needed improvement I would say the seating area around the TV, there are only 3 uncomfortable upright chairs around the TV, there are other chairs but you are requested not to move the furniture. I feel a nice comfortable sofa would be more appropriate especially if there was 6 inhabitants.
The surrounding area is pleasant however there are no amenities ie shops, bars within walking distance. The only thing that disappointed us was the beach area. My wife got told off by the "beach police" for having a drink on the beach. One of the rules of the beach is that there is no food, drink or coolers allowed, I thought this was rather petty as in order to use the beach you must be a resident or guest so you would think that people would be responsible enough to dispose of their own litter. Also given the heat it's important to keep hydrated without having to go back to the house. The sea is also full of seaweed so it's not very appealing to swim in. Opposite the beach is a power station which again spoils the overall aspect.
Finally the house is for sale so I would be reluctant to use again in case the house was sold in the meantime. Overall we had a great time in a beautiful home just a shame about the beach.
Like any place there is always something small wrong or not expressed perfectly but this place was SUPER Clean! Great Sun from the master bedroom. The whole house was super nice. The beach was just two houses down and not crowded and we were there on Memorial day weekend and it was nice out. Quiet Neighborhood and nice people we were even invited to a BBQ! There are no Kayaks or boats but you can bring your own, there is a boat launch for small boats, most of what you need for cooking is there. Great Place for family as the water is nice and no rip currents of an ocean. No place is perfect but this place was as close as you can get! Bring your family and bring your water toys, tubes, kayaks etc as the sporting good store is 20+ minutes away. We had fun and will go back! I highly recommend this place for a quiet and amazing getaway! Beat the rush and ho ha of the Hamptons, thats what we wanted and thats what we got! Awesome getaway!
This was our second visit and i hope we will be able to stay again soon.
The house is very clean, well-maintained, well-equipped, and beautiful. The kitchen is especially well equipped and there is a great deal of extra space available for storing your own food. in addition, there is a great deal of cabinet and closet space throughout the house.
The neighbors and the neighborhood are really nice. It is a great neighborhood for walking, and is an easy drive to many great towns, parks, and restaurants. We especially enjoyed being so close to Rocky Neck State Park.
There are great household instructions and a helpful reference notebook for local attractions. Sandy, the rental agent, is very friendly, helpful, and easy to contact.
We are looking forward to our 5th year of renting this wonderful home, and enjoy it more every year.
Perfect, quiet family beach. Wonderful yard & neighborhood. House has everything anyone could possibly need. Read my review from 2009 (Carrie NH), we still feel the same way about this home. I'm so thankful for the memories our family makes every year, and enjoy that the kids spend the winter & spring excited and waiting for our week at the beach to come.
This is no cottage!! It is a lovely home and the renovations are exceptional. Everything we needed to relax, cook lobsters from Flander's Market, and enjoy the view was there. The property manager, Sandy, gave us some great tips on places to eat and they all were excellent. It took the six of us all weekend to sit in all the various seating arrangements in the living room, kitchen, and dining area. We arrived to find a clean and pleasing to the eye home to spend our long weekend with friends who came from NY, NH, and MD. Tried the Black Sheep for lunch and I'd go back in a heart beat. Dinner out on Friday at the Main Street Grille was a great way to start our time together. We are sailing friends who find a way to see one another from time to time during the off season and this was our first time renting a home. The bedrooms were very nicely furnished, and the renovated bathrooms were superb. The kitchen is completely modern and equipped with everything one would need to cook a gourmet meal if you wished. We will be back!!

My family and I had a wonderful time vacationing at this home. We have two boys age 7 and 3 and they had a blast every day at the beach. The owners didn't skimp on anything - everything was top of the line. The only thing missing was a gas grill. They have an electric outdoor grill - but not the same as a gas grill. They may have their reasons for this though. The views are amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. The owners are wonderful to deal with as is the woman who helps care for the home in between rentals. We are planning on vacationing here again next summer.
I highly recommend this home for your next vacation.
