Outstanding Rental Property

  • 5 of 5

A groups of friends and I recently rented this house for the Mooseman triathlon weekend and what a fantastic experience! The house was beautiful, the bed were comfortable and there was great water pressure in the shower, all important things to triathletes.

It was really a pleasure to be so close to Newfound Lake and all the activities in the surrounding area. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed grilling outdoors while watching the sunset.

The property was very well kept and spotless upon our arrival with evreything in perfect working order. We are definitely looking forward to trying to get back up to Newfound lake for another vacation and would really enjoy staying here again.

Thanks so much!

Nice area amount of space

  • 3 of 5

A good stay altogether. Rented in for the weekend, with 2 other couples. It has a nice amount of space, inside and out, the fireplace is nice, the hot tub is nice bonus for sure. Does have the typical kitchen supplies, which is always so helpful staying there, there is a large amount of movies to watch as well as some random board games/cards.Can't say how the cable/internet works, as it was not working during our stay.

The property itself just could use better upkeep, emptying out the firepit between guests, deep cleaning the carpets, and dusting the entire place, lots of cobwebs and random items everywhere. Kind of a bummer, considering there is a pretty hefty cleaning fee added on to the rental fee. Also, the random equipment and old truck/boat parts(?) outside, along with the super old trailer on the property are definite draw backs. there is no view of the lake from the porch, which is a bummer, but not big deal, the beach to swim at is just a short walk down the road, did see they have a bin of sand toys for children to use, which is a plus.

Fishing Trip

  • 5 of 5

Recently I rented this property for a bachelor party fishing trip get together for my brother and some friends. Everything was as promised. The place was clean and neat with plenty of room. I brought a pontoon boat for fishing and we had easy access to the lake. We cooked on the grill and had the fire pit in the evening. Everyone had an awesome time. The owner made the renting of the property go nice and easy.

Fantastic location and accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed that this property two years in a row, and as long as we continue visiting Newfound Lake, we'll rent this property. We travel from CA to MA each summer to visit family for two weeks - one of which we vacation at Newfound where my wife grew up spending her summers. This property is across the street (a very quiet street) from a private beach and has enough lang around it to feel very rustic while remaining plugged into what is happening around the area - lots of families, kids and fun. This property is clean, easy to access, has all necessary amenities and the owner is great to work with. The large front deck facing the lake and the above-ground spa are great added benefits. There is also a screened room that also accesses the deck and kitchen. Overall, this is an outstanding place, and we'll certainly be back. Thanks again for a great vacation.

Great Time on Newfound Lake

  • 5 of 5

My family and I decided to stay here at this house for Columbus Day Weekend. We had a great time viewing the foliage and making memories. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the front deck with views of the lake and mountain. We would definitley come back to stay at this house again next fall and hopefully summer.

Would never go back

  • 1 of 5

My family and I were hugely disappointed in this home and feel that the description does NOT represent the home at all. Although it says it was totally redone in 2006 the property has not been maintained thru the years.

The grass was at least a foot high

There is no views of the water from the deck...you have to walk over to the firepit to see water at all.

The picnic table was in terrible shape , outside with a bucket full of old butts.

When we went to grill it was completely rusty and unsanitary.

The dryer was broken

The livingroom furniture along with the rug was filthy

The outdoor carpet in the screened in porch was REALLY stained and dirty.

The kitchen stove was ancient and I was unable to use the oven to broil the steak I couldn't put on the grill outside.

The trailer that someone described as cool?? was scary and dirty as well. No way anyone could sleep in that.

We spent way too much money to rent this place and it is NOTHING like the owner says it is!

I'm giving it a one star only because the bathroom was clean and the bedrooms were fine.

Owner's Response: It's funny how I can have nothing but positive reviews and 4 or 5 star ratings on my property and then have that one person make up negative remarks and give a 1 star rating. Seriously??? My property is everything I say it is and I guarantee it. This is my second home which I take of as if I lived there. It is not just some rental property that I don't even use. I spoke to these renters a couple of times during there stay and none of this was mentioned to me. I also have emails sent to me after their stay thanking me for "letting them stay in my beautiful home". If you're interested I'll gladly forward them to you.
