we had a spectacular time at your cabin last week! Even our dog (Rasta) didn't want to leave! I can't imagine what ....we loved your place! It was very comfortable, indoors and out. We got some wonderful pictures that we'll forward along soon.

Thanks again Phil...can't wait to get back up there again!

Amazing quaint cabin on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was one of the best vacations we've ever had! I was nervous because the reservations were made while my wife (the eternal "hotel snob"!) was away on a business trip, but shortly after our arrival we were all thrilled with the accommodations. This cabin is not modern or freshly updated, but was an amazing get away for the three of us. The owner's photos do not do the beauty of this cabin justice! (The TV and living room furniture have been updated from what is shown in the photos.) Here are just a few of some of the things we loved about this cabin: You are close enough to throw a rock off the deck and have it "plop" into Lake Superior. We saw deer in the yard daily, and were able to relax by a wonderful fireplace each night at the end of a long day of hiking the many beautiful state parks in the area. (We originally stayed there to ski at Lutsen, but we ended up spending our days hiking at the many beautiful state parks instead...they are amazing!) There was plenty of firewood stored for us to have a fire in the fireplace each of the three nights we were there. There are three queen beds in cabin that are very comfortable. Although we didn't use them during our stay, there is a full-sized washer and dryer available in the mud room/entryway area. It had snowed the day before our arrival, but the driveway was well plowed for easy access when we arrived for our stay. The kitchen is clean and well-stocked with all of the dishes, pots, and pans you will need to make great meals. (bring your own food) There is also a Weber (charcoal) grill on the deck (bring your own charcoal). Truly a fantastic experience. Superior Solitude......Thanks for a great stay. We were certainly sad to leave, but will be back!

We loved Superior Solitude! Cannot wait to come back again!

  • 5 of 5

The simplicity is well done, enabling the fullness of God's creation to permeate into your core, which is exactly what we were looking for. While simple, it is very comfortable and has everything that you need to make it feel like home. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Stunning view of Lake Superior, a secluded gem

  • 5 of 5

We really loved this place!! Huge windows spanning the entire east-facing side, providing gorgeous views of the Lake. The stone fireplace & log interior walls give the ultimate cozy-cabin feel. Yet the high ceilings and lofted area make it feel quite spacious. We appreciated that pets were welcomed, as my friend's dog seemed to have the time of her life. Beautiful location & a clean, well-cared-for home. Would love to stay again.

Just got back from 4 nights there and it was great - The weather on the other hand wasn't (December is supposed to be snow, not endless rain for days on end, ugh!), though it did give us the opportunity to crack the window and listen to the waves crash along the shore each night. It was only two of us, between the bedrooms, loft, and living room, it felt like a mansion. Everything is in great condition, clean, organized, etc. Couldn't have asked for a better place.

Great 60th Birthday Celebration

  • 4 of 5

We were blessed to find this quiet gem to celebrate our parent's 60th birthday! The lakeside home had ample space, was quite clean and amenities were adequate. The beds were heavenly!! With the exception of having no wifi, ( tough since our phone service was also not available), we enjoyed the sound of the waves and being among the wilderness in northern MN. We were able to explore local towns and enjoy celebrating another year of blessings with our parents. We will surely look at coming back in the summertime to enjoy the large patio and outdoor amenities!

An Idyllic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Ten days was not nearly enough time in this wonderful cabin. All the basics for a great vacation spot were covered: clean, comfortable furniture, well-stocked kitchen, perfect location- but it went well beyond basic. First, the view! Each morning we walked out of the bedrooms to a breathtaking panorama of Lake Superior. Beauty in every direction. Then, the amazingly comfortable bed and quiet. I have not slept so well in years. Next, the deck was great for us and for our dog, who sat for hours watching the lake. Walking the dog along Cascade Beach Road was perfect - little traffic, peaceful, and beautiful.

Everything was as advertised and better. All the logistics worked smoothly. We are checking our calendars for a return visit and are sharing the information with friends.
