My family, including my parents, rented this cabin for a week in May. It was located in a wooded area, but not far from local amenities. We chose this cabin because it was about half way from several things that we wanted to do while in the area. We rode 4 wheelers in Oliver Springs (45 mins away) and went to the Smoky Mountain National Park (a little over an hour away). The cabin is set back from the road in the trees and feels secluded. It was extremely clean and the decor was cute. My boys enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and I enjoyed that there was a bed for everyone.
As much as we enjoyed the cabin there were a few cons. The two major cons was the bed in the loft upstairs and the lack of insulation between the upstairs and main level. The bed in the upstairs loft needed to be replaced about five years ago. It was so bad that I made my boys take turns sleeping upstairs and my husband and I slept in the bunk room (which had great mattresses) with my other son. The other major con was that the people in the bedroom on the main floor could hear every word that was said in the loft bedroom upstairs, talking in normal voices. They could also hear every time the person who slept in the loft rolled over in bed. Not sure this is a problem that can be fixed. An area rug may absorb some sound.
Minor problems: It would be nice if some of the decorations in the kitchen were removed making room for groceries that are brought. We ate every meal there except for two. We ended up using the closet in the main bedroom as a pantry. Also there is nothing to store leftovers in, ie Tupperware. I was surprised that we were not supplied with trash bags, and the bungee cord on the outdoor trashcan did not keep the "critters" out. They were quite polite though, they prided the lid off, ate what they wanted and left, without a mess.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. The mountains were beautiful and a must see in Tennessee!
My friends and I went to Knoxville to visit the TN Gentle Barn (check it out !)for spring break. We wanted to stay somewhere that felt like we were in TN, and this cabin was perfect! It was exceptionally clean and the decor was so log cabin cute! The amenities like a big wrap around porch overlooking a park like setting, plenty of rocking chairs, hot tub, and grill made us stay in even though we had planned on eating dinners out downtown. Where could we get that view and ambiance at a restaurant?! We saved that for lunch and sipped wine and listened to nature from the porch in the evenings. With provided firewood, we built fires to take the edge off of the cool March evenings and felt so lucky to find this sweet cabin. My daughter and I slept very well in the full size bunkbeds downstairs...nice and dark and quiet. Our friends slept upstairs; there was plenty of room to spread out and still have our own space too. The manager stopped by to make sure all was well. The cabins are tucked away off the road (there is another on the property, but they are nicely separated) and we passed the driveway a few times before finding the turn-in, but once we did- we were pleasantly surprised with how seemingly far away, yet really close to everything we were. We will be back! Thank you Ken and Tina, for a memorable experience in TN!
We were so happy to have found a cabin so close to the University of Tennessee to watch our daughter play softball. The cabin was clean, accommodating, and set in a peaceful area in the woods. We really enjoyed the hot tub, being able to cook meals instead of eating out all of the time, and the kids really enjoyed the pool table. Firewood was supplied for us to use in the fireplace and that made our chilly night very cozy! Great location and rental transaction was easy and flawless! Would definitely stay here again if in the area!
We are so happy we stayed at this location. It's close enough to downtown Knoxville yet, you still get the "cabin in the woods" experience. The property was very clean and spacious. We utilized almost every feature they had to offer (pool table, hot tub, tv,grill etc) and it made the experience even better.
We always go to the smokey moutains twice a year, this trip we almost waited to long to book. We found this cabin and booked it the same day! I wasn't sure about staying in a cabin in Knoxville, but it worked out great. It was off the beaten path, but close enough to Knoxville we could go and do anything we wanted! Also it's on the backroad that we were able to cut over to interstate and drive into gatlinburg(about 1 hour this time of year). Thanks to one of the locals for the directions to the interstate.I would definitely stay here again. We also enjoyed just getting out and seeing the local sites! Recommend when unpacking/packing car, you park by the back door and load/unload by that door. Great owner to rent from, great communication too. It was a seamless rental.
The four of us had a brief 2 day stay. It was a wonderful place to stay. A beautiful rustic place with a country feel in the woods. The beds were very comfortable, there was ample room for our group. The cabin was convenient to our trips into Knoxville, but far enough away to feel like we were in the country. The cabin was nicely decorated and very warm and inviting.
