Our family is from Michigan and grew up on the big water of the great lakes. Moving to the south and finding a fresh water lake like Lake Keowee with water clarity found in North Michigan was a real treat.
Shopping in the very unique mountain town of Highlands with quality shops, only 45 minutes away.

Robin & Kay,
We can't thank you enough for sharing your lovely home. You have a great location and a beautiful home. We came up for a long weekend and the Clemson vs Ga Tech game and had a blast. The view straight down the channel with the geese coming in is fantastic. Very calm and relaxing. Home was everything and more than we expected. Thanks for all your help, you were very accommodating. The lake is so beautiful this time of year! Thanks again!
This was our first trip to Lake Keowee and we were unfamiliar with the area. On the advice of a colleague who visited last year I searched for the perfect home on the lake and this was definitely IT! We rented a boat from a nearby marina and toured the entire lake. We found the waterfalls and kids diving off the rock cliffs. Our kids were tubing and swimming in the warm waters of the lake. Early mornings on the porch sipping our coffee and taking in the scenery. The kids enjoyed the lower level playing pool, card games and PacMan. My husband enjoyed photographing the wildlife. Evenings were relaxing in the comfort of the home. Televisions in every room to enjoy the NBA finals! This was truly a great vacation home and will return again and extend our stay as one week is surely not enough!
Robin and Kay,
WOW...The Second Stay only got better!!! We stayed at your amazing home two years ago and had a great time. When looking for a spot for my Fathers 80th Birthday celebration your house was the first thing that came to mind. We had family travel from all over the country and access to airports for everyone was wonderful. We had 3 generations together for a week of water sports and relaxation. When asked what was everyone's favorite thing they did it was a mix bag of sitting around the fire pit, boating/water sports, cooking in your UNBELIEVABLY equipped kitchen, hiking or just hanging out on the deck catching up. YOUR HOUSE WAS PERFECT!! However, I think the favorite thing hands down was your Aquaglide (all generations). We never laughed so hard trying to get on it! It brings a big smile to my face now as I remember all the fun we had. The memories will forever stay with us. Thank you so very much for opening your home to us. We will be back again for sure!!!
The layout of the house was ideal for us, with enough private space for the adults to sleep upstairs and the kids on the main and basement levels. The house is fully outfitted and we had everything we needed to cook meals. We enjoyed cooking s'mores in the fire pit area and having a lot of outdoor decking for dinners and other meals. The house has also been done very nicely and we really enjoyed the wood cabin feel and big windows in the living area. The kids really appreciated having their own space and they used the pool table and Pacman machine every day.
There were a few things we didn't like so much about the house and area: 1- The water is not very private, as there are many docks and a boat launch very close by, so if you're looking for a more private swimming area, you'd be better off somewhere else. 2- There was a house being constructed next door, and we were awoken around 7am on several days due to construction noise (not ideal for resting on vacation, as the house under construction is about 30 yards from the window of the master bedroom). 3- There is not much privacy at the house, as the next door neighbors use the dock and the water hose at the house. We weren't expecting this, but on the positive side, the neighbors were very friendly and helpful. 4- We only had one car, so we were able to deal with the parking situation, but if you have more than one car it could be tough to park. Also, the house is at the end of the road and if the neighbors are home, there is nowhere to easily turn your car around.
What a fantastic place for a 3 generation reunion. My husband was able to get the last of his 5 grandkids up on skis. A great home for all ages and everything the site says it is and more. Location is close to grocery and gas for boat. Cove great for swimming. Just basically the best week our family has had in a long time. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. We added many loving memories to your lake house. Hope we can do it again before long.
