Originally, I'm from Connecticut. During the 80's I lived in Andrews up in a 'holler' and never had the gorgeous view I now enjoy. I then relocated to FL for 15 years and in 1999 decided I had to have another home in Andrews. I purchased 'this old house' and have had extensive improvements done. The 'Moose' was originally a single room over the workshop. I designed and decorated the cabin as it now exists and enjoyed watching it being built in 2007. The view of the northern mountains is breath-taking! I have thoroughly enjoyed all the comments from my guests, many of whom have become my friends. I work full-time as Radiology Director in a hospital in GA and am away from my home at least ten hours a day. My guests have total privacy, but like knowing I am here in the evenings should they have a problem or question. I have two 'inside' dogs who were hard-luck stories but have adapted to being spoiled house-dogs very quickly! I have traveled extensively throughout the USA as well as foreign countries and have never found a more beautiful place to live than right here in Andrews, NC.

A Peaceful Retreat
My husband and I immensely enjoyed our stay at the Moose Crossing Cabin. The view of the mountains from the front porch is beautiful and the cabin is a wonderful place to relax. The bed had high quality sheets and it was very comfortable.
We have never stayed at a rental home that was as well-equipped as Pat's cabin. Pat went beyond our expectations by providing breakfast foods, dog treats for our dogs, and other unexpected things. We felt refreshed and rejuvenated after our stay there. We loved the town of Andrews and the highlight of our getaway was hiking the trail at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. I highly recommend Pat's cabin and think nature lovers will love the entire area. Thank you, Pat, for going the extra mile to provide such a relaxing retreat!
Great location. Beautiful view. Lovely yard. Wonderful host. Room a little cluttered for our tastes. Kitchen was a challenge but we had a wonderful visit
This was a truly awesome little cabin
Thank you Pat, we really enjoyed our stay.
You were right when you said that all we needed to bring were our clothes. To any who are thinking of staying here, do give it a try. Pat furnishes anything you would need whether you are going to explore this part of North Carolina or you just want a quiet place to sit and relax for a few days.
Saying that the cabin backs up to a mountain does not do this justice as you can sit on the back deck and see nothing but trees and hear nothing but songbirds.
Thank you again for your hospitality. We could not have asked for a better home for our four days there and while we had high hopes for the cabin after reading other reviews, you exceeded our expectations.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope you both will come back and visit. Many thanks !
Such a quaint little cabin!
My family and I had a fabulous stay at Moose Crossing! Pat has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, including a fully-stocked refrigerator of breakfast items. The cabin is just as described, and Pat is such a gracious and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend Moose Crossing to anyone looking for a cozy getaway in the mountains!
Thank you, Erin! And please thank Virginia for her lovely drawing! Hope to see you all again.
The cabin was perfect for a weekend trip to finalize plans for building our own cabin. Very well stocked with supplies and even generous amount of groceries.
Thank you, Anita! I know you'll enjoy having your own cabin!
