Wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in the Old Bakehouse. Well equipped, very clean and all in a beautiful setting. We were even greeted with fresh baked scones and cream. Maybe it shouldn't in this peaceful location but I know for some it is important: the Internet connection is excellent. We highly recommend this cottage for your next stay in the Cotswolds.

Cozy, well-equipped cottage in idyllic setting.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of spending two nights at this wonderful cottage. As soon as we arrived we immediately wished we could stay longer. Ros and her daughter were very gracious hosts, the cottage was comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. The village of Stonesfield is quaint and well located to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding area. My children, ages 9 and 10 loved it, especially the well-tended garden area. We can't wait to return for a longer visit.

the perfect country cottage - better than I could possibly have imagined

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, beautifully decorated and cosy cottage in a charming village. A perfect weekend retreat, well heated with a wood stove for chilly evenings and a well equipped kitchen, lovely large bathroom with deep bath and wonderful comfy mattresses and bedding. Lots of glorious walks nearby including to Blenheim Palace. But most important the landlady Rosamund was incredibly kind and welcoming and even left us home-made scones and jam when we arrived! A perfect country cottage.

Charming cottage. Thoughtful proprietor

  • 5 of 5

Wonderfully appointed. We were left to our own devices and it felt very private despite having Ros nearby if we needed anything. Very tasteful and a log burner made our stay. We will be back.

If you like old, pretty and historical places it is ideally situated for visiting Cotswold towns and villages such as Burford, The Gateway to The Cotswolds, a charming country market town with lovely old buildings, tea shops and a Wildlife Park.Woodstock is a ten minute drive away and is a pretty little Cotswold town with Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill and stunning grounds to walk in as well as a train to take you to a Maze and children's play area. Other nearby typical old towns are Morton -in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water.
