Great stay in central Bordeaux

The apartment was perfect for my husband and I. It is very spacious, clean, centrally located, with a modern bath and lots of amenities provided. We had friends (who were staying in a hotel) come over for a cheese, bread, charcuterie dinner with lots of fine wine. The apartment with its charming courtyard was perfect. Caroline was a perfect host. Many thanks to her for working with our changing arrival time and providing helpful hints. We would love to return for a longer stay.

Wonderful apartment. Lovely, kind and responsive owner!

Apartment is beautilly furnished, very clean, and in a great location. I spent a week alone here and was very comfortable. Lots of restaurants and food shops just outside the door. One block to Tram, and 1 1/2 blocks to river. But the very best part is Caroline! She was there to welcome me, and has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay just perfect!

Simply the Best

I only have three words for anyone thinking of renting this property: Book It Now!

The Apartment:

All new renovated remodeled apartment in "historic" building. Brand new appliances. Modern American style kitchen. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could ask for. More than sufficient starter supply of paper products, soaps, etc.

Lots of space for two people plus a near patio and two very small porches. Attractively and comfortable decorated. Extremely comfortable bed.

Great location: 1 1/2 short blacks from the quai. Near a historic square with lots of restaurant choices. Easy 10 to 15 minute stroll to center of town.

Near two major tram lines.

Caroline always available if needed and totally responsive in a pleasant positive way without being the least bit intrusive.

The Area:

Interesting area being gentrified before your eyes. Nice kitschy shops. Sufficient restaurants. Near waterfront. Easy access to central business area.


There simply aren't any. A phone might have been nice but not a necessity if you have a smart phone or your own ability to communicate.

If you have a car, parking is a problem, but that is true anywhere in Bordeaux. A car is a mixed blessing. It absolutely is not needed in the city. However, there are many wonderful things to do and see within two hours drive from Bordeaux which are much easier to access with a car.

We were in Bordeaux for 13 days. Caroline arranged a long term reduced rate parking for us at a nearby garage with in/out privileges. It was 53.50 euros a week. It is highly recommended that you arrange this if you are there for any length of time. It will save untold of aggravation.

I simply can not recommend this apartment enough, and dealing with Caroline is a real pleasure! She indeed is "sweet Caroline!"

Overall Assessment:

We have stayed in places in Paris, Cannes, Melbourne, Auckland, Wellington, and Oahu. This is among the best. I can not imagine a better place for the money in the central area of Bordeaux.

Excellent roomy apartment

This spacious apartment is stylish, elegant and comfortable. The apartment is fully equipped with all you could need, including a washer. it also has a good sized terrace, which was very nice to sit out on in the warm evenings. It is only 2 blocks from the river, and handy to the tram, which we used for getting around.

The street was noisy on Saturday night, but quieter during the week.
