Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved our stay here for one week, and we certainly wish it could have been for longer. Everything we needed was found in the cottage including wi-fi.

Stunning views of the countryside every morning is the way to enjoy your morning coffee !! the lovely sunny weather we had all week meant we managed to visit every day somewhere different, all the places of which had details or leaflets within the cottage to help us decide which to choose each day.

A thoughtful welcome pack on arrival meant we did not have to go shopping after our 7hr drive up from Kent and was most appreciated.

The hosts, Jags and Chris, made us feel so welcome and we are already planning our next visit.

The property was perfect for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice, well equipped with all our daily needs with some much appreciated extras. Slightly chilly at times until we realised the heating wasn't working but it was fixed before we were back from our day out. The owners were lovely, kind and extremely accommodating. Thanks so much Chris and Jags'.

5 stars and more

  • 5 of 5

If you want a luxury cottage, in a beautiful setting with warm and welcoming hosts then look no further than The Coach House. I would have no hesitation in agreeing with all the 5 star comments of recent reviews. This really is a little gem of a cottage and it was a pleasure to sit out in the evening with a drink and a good book after a day exploring the likes of Cotehele, Lanhydrock and the South West coastal path.

Chris and Jags, our hosts, were so helpful and friendly and we valued their knowledge of the local area in planning our days. The very generous and thoughtful welcome goodies were much appreciated and nothing was too much trouble. When we come back to Cornwall we know exactly where we will be staying.

Thanks so much Chris and Jags for a lovely week.

An excellent choice ............

  • 5 of 5

Strongly recommend a stay at the The Coach House - the property is of excellent standard and very comfortable and the 'welcome pack' after a long journey is so well received - no need to rush out to the shops for supplies. Chris and Jags, the owners. are so warm and welcoming and are on hand if you have any problems. The view across the valley from the property is amazing and you will not hear a sound expect for maybe the sheep in a distant field. We were able to explore the whole of North Cornwall and the South from Megavissey to the Devon border with easy from The Coach House. For a holiday to remember you will not be disappointed with The Coach House

Everything that we had hoped for plus much more

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a fantastic week in the Old Rectory Coach House, the location could not be better, quietly set at the end of a private driveway with uninterrupted views across open countryside, ideal for the end of day glass of wine or just to watch the sun go down.

If you are 'Bus Passers' like us there is easy access to a good bus service to the nearby seaside villages of Looe and Polperro.

The property has every quality 'high end' and modern conveniences that anybody could wish for. Our hosts Chris and Jags are lovely warm and welcoming people they certainly went the extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable.

I could not end this review without a mention of the 'Welcome Pack' everything for our immediate needs plus much more and even a mid week top up, something we have never had before.

For a relaxing break within beautiful surroundings with first class accommodation this is the place to go, we couldn't wait to book another week in July when we got back home.

Look forward to seeing you again soon. Peter and Jackie

Impressive and Excellent Quality

We received the warmest of welcomes to The Coachouse, which is presented to such a high standard that we were happy to spend our days exploring and then return to the property each evening to relax. The views are stunning and we can't wait to return.

Cornish Delight

  • 5 of 5

The Coach House is a delightful cottage well located for visiting most of Cornwall. It is equipped to a very high standard, spotlessly clean, easy to relax in and has a lovely little garden overlooking fields and the valley. Chris and Jags are wonderful hosts, we were provide with a super welcome hamper, the best we have ever had, luxury chocolates and they were always on hand with tips on where to visit. We hope to visit again and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Detached, and situated far enough away from any other buildings, the Coach House offers peace and tranquillity. A private patio can be used to enjoy the lovely views across the valley and makes it the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine.

Guests have access to the whole cottage, it's private patio area overlooking the valley. They can also roam around the orchard and some of the gardens of the Old Rectory along with the small paddock which leads out onto fields surrounding the property.

of things to see and do as well as places to eat.

The Old Rectory is situated just outside the small village of St Keyne in Cornwall and along the way to the next small village of Duloe. It is very quiet, peaceful and tranquil with lovely views yet it is very close to the coast and close to the main links back to central and southern England.

Getting around:

The cottage has it's own private and dedicated parking spaces. We are also on a direct bus route in between Looe and Liskeard. The train is just under 2 miles away and we provide a free courtesy pick up from Liskeard station. Nearest airports are Newquay, Exeter & Bristol airports.
