Perfect Winter Stay
My family had a wonderful time at this little cabin over our spring break. The cabin is isolated and yet a quick ten minute drive the downtown Crested Butte. The layout of the cabin is great with a master suite area upstairs (with a deck) and another bedroom downstairs. The office had bunk beds which my kids loved. The hot tub was awesome and the kids (and adults) loved playing in the snow-covered yard. I loved being able to hear the creek from pretty much anywhere on the property. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We loved reading in the sun room and enjoying the near 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We loved our stay and would love to visit again.
Quintessential Mountain Cabin (despite broken hot tub)
My wife and I, two college-aged kids, and two small dogs spent Christmas week in the cabin. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find that the owners had set up and decorated a tree for us and hung four stockings on the fireplace. They also left a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine for us. It was a very nice welcome.
The cabin itself was perfectly rustic and charming. It has a large loft upstairs with a queen bed and a full bath (including stackable washer and dryer), and a lovely deck that serves as a master suite type area. Then, downstairs, there is a bedroom with a queen bed just off the living room and a bunk room with bunk beds off the dining room. Each room has space heaters and some have baseboard heaters and there is a gas fireplace. It was easy enough to keep each room comfortable when in use, despite the sub-zero temps a few nights. The beds were fairly comfortable, although I think a king bed upstairs would be a great upgrade.
The kitchen was functional, though it was pretty filthy when we arrived. It looked like the floor had not been swept in weeks, there was food crusted on the supposedly clean utensils and there was dust and crumbs and residue on all the surfaces. My wife spent about an hour cleaning so we could enjoy the stay and feel better about prepping food in that space. I will say, I complained to the owners and they promptly offered to waive the cleaning fee. So, there's that. There are basic spices and enough dishes and pots and pans to suffice. There is a dishwasher but it's pretty heavily crusted with soap scum and mineral deposits so we just hand washed stuff.
The views are beautiful and it's close enough to town to be able to get groceries, go for a meal, etc. but far enough to feel a little more secluded. Overall, we had a fantastic time unplugging (the only TV is in the bunk bed room so not at all available for group viewing but we were ok with that). There was dog hair around but sort of to be expected at a dog-friendly cabin. The only other issue we had was we received an email the afternoon before we arrived informing us the hot tub was broken. Very disappointing. They knocked $50/night off. I'd prepaid but the refunds (cleaning fee and hot tub compensation) were issued promptly.
If not for the cleanliness and hot tub - would have been a solid 5 stars. Still wonderful, despite the hiccups. I recommend it.
Beautiful, serene location! Responsive owners.
My family stayed at this lovely cabin during a recent visit. It is much bigger than we expected, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners responded quickly to any of our questions. We would stay here again!
We had a great time at the Charming Creek Cabin! The pictures did not do the cabin justice! The cabin was very warm and comfortable! The hot tub next to the creek was fantastic! We slept with the window open every night and the sound of the running creek was so relaxing. Great place to stay and will love to return to this sweet getaway. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. We had more fun hanging out there playing games, putting puzzles together, and having quality time with my kids who live in Crested Butte. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. There was so much snow and snowed twice while we were there. Thanks again. The owners were a pleasure to work with and very helpful.
The cabin was a perfect getaway for our family during our annual ski trip. The cabin is warm, cozy, spacious and well stocked. The pictures do not do it justice. Our two kids, ages 5 and 8, and our dog really enjoyed spending time in the cabin together talking, cooking and hanging out. The only TV is in the office/bunk bed room next to the dining room so we ended up not even using it which was a great way to have more interactive family time. The kids and dog really like the extra space to run around outside in the deep snow and the adults enjoyed sitting in the hot tub right next to the creek after a long day of skiing. The cabin is located on a quiet street nestled between trees along side a peaceful creek.
We enjoyed the food at Tullys but didn't get a chance to try the food at the general store. It was quite cold during our stay so we chose to drive to Tullys rather than walk. The walk is probably about 1/2 mile.
Just up Cement Creek road about 2 miles there is a access to several trail heads. This is excellent location for those who like to hike. We took our dog for a walk on one of the trails along the creek. The snow was rather deep so we were limited to the creekside trail (which was beautiful) but we would love to come back in the other seasons to enjoy the other non-crowded trails.
Just returned from our stay at the Creekside Cabin, and it is perfect. The location right on the creek was beautiful and private. The house is well appointed with everything we needed to have a great trip. The hot tub right beside the creek was amazing after a long day on the trails. The sounds of the water rushing in the creek in every room of the house just made us all feel so relaxed.
The owners are amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Thanks Eney and Jeff we will be back!
