We just got back from staying here. It's a great place to stay everything was so nice and clean. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and riding and fishing the river.we visited a couple little springs along the river too. Went into town and ate at two of the little restaurants there in Mayo. The little cafe and the Bisquit company I believe it was called. We would love to come back and stay here again and bring family with us. It was just a anniversary get a way for us this time. Only thing I found kinda odd was that we had to put the sheets on our own bed. Totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quite relaxing time away.
We rent the Do-Less every year to get some peace and quiet and lots of family time and defiantly to take the kids to the springs and this year was no different. In fact we just got home from 2 relaxing weeks there. This was our 4th year renting and as always we were very happy and content there. In fact, it feels like coming home every year and we all feel sad leaving. I love that it is right on the Suwannee River and has a private dock because we take our boat and ride up and down the river.
This year my mom and dad came up there for 2 days to stay with us and when they went to leave, my dad said he noticed all the wood carvings throughout the house. He donated an alligator to the house that he had carved. He said he knew I loved it there and wanted to donate it to the cabin.
I know that every time we stay there now, I will feel even more at home knowing a piece of my dad will be there in my favorite home away from home.
Thank you so much again for lending us your Do-Less every year. See you next year
Mu husband and I just spent a week at the Do-Less River House. A bit off the beaten track, but that's one reason that it is so enjoyable. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. The river was about 7' above normal and running a bit swiftly, so we forewent the water activities and just enjoyed sunning on the dock. Some days were a little cooler so we traveled half an hour or so to Ichnetucknee, Peacock and Ginnie Springs. What a delight to see that clear teal water. Simply stupendous.
The cabin was comfortable and aside from needing some soap, was just great. TV service was good, but WIFI is not available. I
If you're looking for a quiet place to unwind, you will love this property.
We just spent the past weekend here and I can't say enough good things about the experience. The house is great, well stocked, clean and so comfy cozy from the furniture right down to the pillows. We were 6 adults, plenty of room. There was plenty of fire wood and we enjoyed a great blaze each of our two nights and the grill worked well. OH and we also found the ping pong table..LOL good times! The owners were a breeze to work with and responded in a timely manner! Thanks for making this available for others to enjoy.
We spent a wonderful week at this cabin on the Suwannee. Coffee on the deck, fished off the dock and kayaked up and down the river. Would return again except --- the mattress on the master bed was like sleeping on a bowl of dry corn flakes, could not even move. Hope it is replaced when we return to try again.
My husband and I traveled from the NE Coast to the river, and the peacefulness was AMAZING!We often look for places to stay that are Old Florida, and this cottage did not disappoint. The house was perfect, and the buffet in the kitchen with the marble top is to die for!We roamed,we read on one of the three docks, ate dinner by candlelight and grilled out either on the grill or over the fire pit.Our only drawback was the lack of cell phone service(we own a business),but have learned that you can buy an extra card for you cell which will amp up the service. This is a visit we hope to take next year, and would highly recommend this river cottage(handicapped friendly in the front)
