This gracious shingle-style house sits securely atop a rocky promontory overlooking picturesque Diamond Cove, in Annisquam. Our house has postcard seascape views from both porches and every room in the house. (4 bedrooms) Our guests enjoy beach privileges and swimming in the Cove (100 ft walk from the porch) and at nearby Squam Rock Beach, a short walk down charming and quiet residential roadways. Within walking and biking distance is Annisquam Village center. You will spend countless hours overlooking Ipswich Bay from our large west-facing covered porch, enjoying the sunsets over the water. You will love sunny breakfasts on our open east-facing breakfast porch. Outdoor parking for 5 vehicles is included. Our rental week is Saturday-to-Saturday only - no exceptions! Our house may not be appropriate for folks with mobility issues as we have multiple stairways. We rent our house to tenants for private residential and noncommercial use only. We never entertain offers for less than our posted rate.
This is a really great place to stay. The location is right on the ocean. There is a rock beach practically at the doorstep and a wonderful sandy beach a short walk away - especially perfect for young children at low tide. The house itself is in excellent shape with an especially well equipped kitchen, plenty of good quality towels, enough hot water for everyone and fantastic views out of virtually every window. Good restaurants and shopping are only a few minutes away by car.
My wife and I had such a wonderful stay on Diamond Avenue for our honeymoon. A beautiful house, beautifully appointed. There is a spectacular view of Ipswich Bay, particularly on the 4th of July. If you are as fortunate as we were, there will be an amazing fireworks competition between 5 guys who live across the bay, and this will last for 2 hours. A short walk to anywhere in the village, and a short drive to the local public beaches and downtown Gloucester. Friendly neighbors; scads of cast iron cookware; comfortable sleeping; ocean sounds; ocean breeze. Cannot recommend this enough.
5 adults and 5 kids (3 thru 9) shared a picture perfect week at this beautiful location. Two full baths with showers meant no waiting. Laundry facilities very handy for large group. All bedrooms on the 2nd fl made it easy to keep noise down for those going to bed early.
Small rocky beach right in front is perfect at low tide, but cramped at high tide. Sandy beach visible in photos was not accessible to us, according to neighbor. Cottage owner had great info packet, but I was unable to locate anything re: sandy beach access. That said, there are more fabulous sandy beaches within a short drive than one could visit in a week.
Also recommend Family Night at Annisquam Yacht Club for anyone with guest privileges.
Compact home with great views from rooms and special porch that seems to catch any available breezes. Great for family gatherings, though note that all toilets are upstairs, so if little kids or older guests you might want to be careful. Nice big dining table that could accommodate big family dinners with nice gas grill outside if you want to keep things cool. One lucky and very nice aspect of this home is the air condition that really works and is necessary on hot days. If possible I would rent again. A wonderful area with friendly neighbors. Enjoy.
This was a fantastic home for rent for our family of 3 adults and 4 kids. The property is gorgeous, with wonderful views from practically every bedroom and 2 killer porches. Lightning storms are a wonder to behold. There are 2 entry points to rocky beaches ~1 block away, good for scrambling/tidepooling (bring water shoes). For sandy beaches, Plum Cove is a 5 min drive away and the bigger beaches of Wingaersheek, Good Harbor and Crane's beaches are about 15 min away.
The home has great amenities (new bathrooms, washer/dryer/dw/NG stove/refrig) which make it super convenient for a home away from home. Not why you go away, but certainly makes it more civilized!
Finally, the owners were fantastic. The recommended restaurants were also recommended by our local friends (and TripAdvisor).
We loved this quiet gem, which was located close to so many things for all of us to do (key since we had a 3,6,9, and 12 yo!).
The only thing to note is this house may not be the best if one in your party is handicapped - there's ~2 flights of walk/steps up to the home, as that's how it affords its great views. Our 3 yo and my 75 yo dad had NO problems navigating it, but not the best if you're in a walker/wheelchair. For everyone else, this is the perfect place!
The house was beachy and fabulous; just what we were looking for. Perfect for family and friends to gather and watch an amazing sunset, relax on the porch, enjoy a meal. Very well equipped and comfortable. A climb up to the house but once you get there you won't want to leave! But you will, there's tons to see and do nearby.
Annisquam is a village within the City of Gloucester Massachusetts. Our House faces West and looks over Ipswich Bay. There are terrific sunsets over the water from our spacious porch. Every room in the house has a water view!
