Condo is located on the beautiful Bahia Mar Resort property and is a first floor unit right next to the nicely landscaped walkway that runs through the resort. The Bahia Mar is located on the beach side of Padre Blvd. and a short two minute walk through the property gets you to the beach from the condo.

The Resort has two large swimming pools with hot tubs and tennis courts. Enjoy a relaxing day on the beach or in the pools. Clayton's Beach Bar is located a ten minute walk away along the beach and is the largest beach bar in Texas.

Nearby activities include horseback riding, parasailing, scuba diving, fishing and dolphin watch trips. Located within 20 minutes is the South Padre Island Golf Course and Mexico is 45 minutes away.

Bahia Mar Condo

Positives- Condo was clean, spacious, proximity to the beach was excellent. Owners worked to accomodate our budget. All rooms had tvs and dvd players and a stereo in the living room. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, etc...

Negatives and suggestions- Construction on the hotel next door located on the same property was loud and woke guests up in the morning. Though this is not the owners fault, warning would have been nice. We were only allowed two parking passes; however, the condo accomodates 8 guests and not everyone drives station wagons. This is stated in the condo information, however there were plenty of extra parking spaces on site and when I tried to obtain or purchase another permit the owner could not be reached.Therefore we had to park some of our vehicles off site. Tennis courts were also not available due to one not having a net and the other had cement bricks on top. There was only 1 pool available contrary to the description, though it was nice as was the jacuzzi. However, I would like to see a change to the pool/jacuzzi hours from 10pm to at least 11pm. In addition, although grilling was allowed if you brought your own personal grill, it had to be done on the beach which was 40 yards from the unit. Although the security guards were friendly, for young renters the security measures seemed excessive and a small hinderance to actively exploring what the Island had to offer.

I personally would think twice about renting due to the parking situation described above and lack of flexibility to have guest over. However, If you are a party of eight and do not plan on having guests over, this place is for you and will find it extremely enjoyable.
