Located in beautiful West Maui, 'The Pikake' is located directly on the ocean. Gorgeous, unobstructed, breath-taking views of the Islands of Lana'i & Moloka'i. This is the perfect location for whale-watching (Dec. - Mar) turtle-watching, swimming, snorkeling, boogie-boarding, etc. There is a coral reef just a little off-shore which makes the beach calm enough for children to play.
Our completely renovated kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to whip up a fantastic meal, or a casual snack. There is a grocery store just a short walk away. Laundry room right on the grounds with washers & dryers available for your use.
Beautiful new loft with queen size bed, desk & walk-in closet.
We have high-speed internet if you want to bring your laptop.
Absolutely spectacular! You will want to make this Condominium your home-away-from home.
Activities: There are brochures and pamphlets located in the laundry room. These activities include: Mountain-Biking Down a volcano, Horseback Riding, Para-Sailing, Surfing instruction, Snorkeling tours, Dolphin tours, Kayaking, Jet Skiing, Sunset Cruises, Helicopter tours into the Rain Forest, Drive to Hana, etc.
Dining: There are so many fantastic restaurants in Maui. There are menus & brochures in the laundry room for every restaurant on Maui. From $ to $$$$ some of our favorites: Longhi's, Kimo's, David Paul's, Roy's, Maui Brewing Co (Fish & Game), & Kobe's. Our favorite breakfast: The Gazebo at Napili Shores. Beautiful view of Napili Bay and the best Macadamia nut pancakes you'll ever have, guaranteed! Try 'em with their famous coconut syrup and a glass of POG (Passion, Orange, Guava juice) yum. My husband loves their omelette's but tell 'em light on the cheese, they can really cheese it up.
Beaches: We have a beautiful beach just 20 steps away, but there are many famous beaches close by. I like to valet my car at the Sheraton Maui. This is where beautiful Black Rock is located. Wonderful for snorkeling. You can rent lounge chairs & umbrellas or a cabana from the Beach Rental Shack. If you eat lunch at their fabulous outdoor grill restaurant they will validate your valet stub.
Napili Bay. Park at the Seahouse Restaurant and walk down the stairs to another beautiful beach. Just across from the Gazebo.

Could use some updating, and especially air conditioning. But you just can't beat the beach!
The condo was rigidly clean, and well equipped for cooking and other adventures- there was even a selection of water toys for playing in the ocean.
Groceries and other sundries were close by, as well as a big waterfront park.
We had turtles on the beach, and a pod of male humpbacks showing off for the lady humpbacks right in front of our balcony, and beautiful sunsets almost every night.
It was extremely hot and humid, and air conditioning would have been a god send, but it wasn't always necessary due to breezes off the ocean.
I would definitely stay there again.
One little tiny pick - never saw or spoke to the owner once. I guess I'm kind of used to hotel staff to greet me, or help me arrange things, or tell me about local attractions etc. Very minor, and wouldn't be shared by all.
Had everything we needed.
The place is cute and cozy. Perfect location. My family enjoyed the private beach. Walking distance to a farmers market and coffee. The complex is small and quite and everyone so friendly. We have three girls 14, 10 and 7. It was perfect for us. This place is a hidden gem.
Both Lahaina and this place Pikake was a great place to stay. We enjoyed our stay. The neighbors were wonderful and we even learned to blow the conch shell during sunset which some of the neighbors do as a way to thank the Sun.
Beaches were great and lot of other great beaches near by. If you do a tour to go see the whales or snorkeling, you may want to consider going through Expedia Experts. Very professional and they do it through Pacific Whale Foundation which is an organization that helps sea animals. If you plan to do the road to Hana, consider renting one day close to the airport side before coming to the west side of Maui for your stay, as it is a long drive.
Location can't be beat, condo needs some TLC
We chose the Pikake for our 11 night stay on Maui due to it's description of 2 bedrooms, sleeping 5, right on the beach.
This unit is part of a smaller condo building which is great. The location is outstanding and really is just steps from the beach. We were able to watch whales and turtles every day right from the balcony! The location is very good and within very easy driving distance to Lahaina, or some of the beaches and spots further up the West Side of Maui.
Although the inside is very functional, it is definitely tired and could use some updating. We did contact the owner a few times asking if some of the basic things mentioned in the description were available somewhere we had not looked. Upon arrival there was only 1 roll of toilet paper (for 5 people for 11 days), a tiny bit of shampoo and conditioner left in an old bottle, no garbage bags, one very old and flimsy beach chair, no dish soap, only a tiny bit of paper towel, nothing for the dishwasher, etc.. We emailed and asked her if we needed to purchase these things or if there was somewhere we had missed looking. We also mentioned that the patio door lock seems broken and only sometimes locks and would need attention from a property manager. We received no response the whole time were were there which is very disappointing. We didn't mind the basic condo as our time was not intended to be spent inside, but we would appreciate knowing the owner would at least address any concerns we had. We ended up making another trip to the store for all the essentials, and we felt uncomfortable leaving at times, or sleeping, with the back patio door not locked.
I think we may have left a different review if we felt the owner would have cared at all about our stay after we had arrived, and taken a moment to email us back, but in this case I think a slightly larger building with a building manager on site who could address our concerns may have been a better option.
Some suggestions for improvement include a packing list of items that will be necessary and an update of the 'included items' on the VRBO website, a larger table somewhere for eating meals, better time response from owner.
Lovely beach front property in small Condominium setting
Nice, fully functional, older condo. Well supplied kitchen. Beautiful view from back porch toward Molokai. Deck furniture could updating as could bathroom fixtures. Owner very prompt with communications.
I appreciate the intimacy of Pikake. With only twelve units, you almost get to know your "neighbors" in a few days. The unit is well equipped and comfortable. Being so close to the ocean is marvelous. Loved seeing the sea turtles, two actually coming right up on the beach to sun briefly. Would definitely stay there again!
Activities (on site or nearby): biking, golf, gym, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, shopping, dining, cinemas, sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, sailing, water skiing, surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, kayaking, outrigger canoeing, para sailing Golf: We are located directly in between the Kapalua Golf Course, and the Ka'anapali Golf Course.
