Located in beautiful West Maui, 'The Pikake' is located directly on the ocean. Gorgeous, unobstructed, breath-taking views of the Islands of Lana'i & Moloka'i. This is the perfect location for whale-watching (Dec. - Mar) turtle-watching, swimming, snorkeling, boogie-boarding, etc. There is a coral reef just a little off-shore which makes the beach calm enough for children to play.
Our completely renovated kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to whip up a fantastic meal, or a casual snack. There is a grocery store just a short walk away. Laundry room right on the grounds with washers & dryers available for your use.
Beautiful new loft with queen size bed, desk & walk-in closet.
We have high-speed internet if you want to bring your laptop.
Absolutely spectacular! You will want to make this Condominium your home-away-from home.
Activities: There are brochures and pamphlets located in the laundry room. These activities include: Mountain-Biking Down a volcano, Horseback Riding, Para-Sailing, Surfing instruction, Snorkeling tours, Dolphin tours, Kayaking, Jet Skiing, Sunset Cruises, Helicopter tours into the Rain Forest, Drive to Hana, etc.
Dining: There are so many fantastic restaurants in Maui. There are menus & brochures in the laundry room for every restaurant on Maui. From $ to $$$$ some of our favorites: Longhi's, Kimo's, David Paul's, Roy's, Maui Brewing Co (Fish & Game), & Kobe's. Our favorite breakfast: The Gazebo at Napili Shores. Beautiful view of Napili Bay and the best Macadamia nut pancakes you'll ever have, guaranteed! Try 'em with their famous coconut syrup and a glass of POG (Passion, Orange, Guava juice) yum. My husband loves their omelette's but tell 'em light on the cheese, they can really cheese it up.
Beaches: We have a beautiful beach just 20 steps away, but there are many famous beaches close by. I like to valet my car at the Sheraton Maui. This is where beautiful Black Rock is located. Wonderful for snorkeling. You can rent lounge chairs & umbrellas or a cabana from the Beach Rental Shack. If you eat lunch at their fabulous outdoor grill restaurant they will validate your valet stub.
Napili Bay. Park at the Seahouse Restaurant and walk down the stairs to another beautiful beach. Just across from the Gazebo.
We loved our visit to the Pkake! The view was amazing and the private beach was such a perk. The condo was pretty well kept and honestly, the pictures do not do it justice. It was a great base camp not far from beaches, food, and shopping. We feel like it was an awesome bang for the buck!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect. On your own private beach with the turtles! We saw whales while sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and the beautiful sunsets. Friends who stopped by to visit were also very impressed with this property and couldn't understand why we would even want to go to another beach! I would (and have) recommended this property to my family and friends.:)
We have stayed in another apartment in Pikake about 5 years ago. This apartment B5 is very comfortable and has everything you need for a holiday. It cost A$400 per night, so not actually a budget apartment, its furnishing are not luxurious and could be described as tired. It needs to have airconditioning for summer as it gets a little stuffy at night. The ocean is noisy, so you cant sleep with the doors open. We saw some wonderful sights such as a giant turtle resting on our private beach for many hours. great photos! The apartment did not have a working rice cooker(the cord was missing!) and was a little overcrowded with stuff that cluttered the place up. It needs renovating to modernise it so that guests are more comfortable. It was difficult to connect the wifi and no password was given to us until I phoned the owner. Still we loved being there and would go back, but renovations are needed.
The location and setting of the Pikake is one of the best spots on the Island. The veiw and proximity to the ocean is like no other. It is close to the market, health food store, grocery store, other beaches and a beautiful walk from Napili Bay to Flemming Beach.
However, this unit needs some attention. Simple things llike washing the walls, new linens, bath mat, entrance mats and deck furniture. The fabric on the furniture in the living area is very uncomfortable as well. The mattresses on the beds have seen their day. Big sink hole in the bed in the loft and the bed on the main floor is just ... gooshy all over. The paint is peeling off all of the baseboards as well as the bathroom door. For the amount of money we are spending, we would also appreciate a few more ammenities like more drinking glasses, a decent kettle and new pots and pans. The t-fal pans are not only losing their finish, "t-fal", is known to be hazardous to our health. It's hard to complain when you are there because there are so many things to be greatful for. We did not let these things impact our stay but I feel that we need to be honest when asked to reveiw. I would stay here again and recommend to friends once the upgrades were done : )
We had friends who stayed here years ago, and raved about it! So it was no question where we were going to stay for our trip. This place is RIGHT on the ocean, the condo building is small and feels like home (only 12 units... 6 on the bottom, 6 on the top) and the waves at the beach are just right for young children. Some of the beaches we travelled to had very large waves which my 6 year old found intimidating. He never wanted to swim anywhere else. Oh, and turtles daily sunning themselves on our beach or swimming by didn't hurt either!
There's a market nearby which had more gf items than the places we have on the mainland! And a great coffee place, as well, Bad Ass Coffee.
It's only a few minutes drive away from Ka'anapali and Kahekili beach (which both have amazing snorkelling!), while still having your own kitchen in your condo and almost a private beach. We felt like we were in a much better position than those renting from the large hotel chains!
Thank you July for a great place to stay.
The place wasn't bad itself but whoever says you do no need a/c because you are on the beach is not telling the truth! We were roasting....the condo was a sweat box an by 4 p.m. and then when everyone wanted to shower it was terrible. The condo was averge for the value. Could use some upgrades. Some remotes didn't work, speakers on big TV were about shot. Location was nice. Definatley would choose somewhere with a/c for the next visit.
