Beulah House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 3 Baths (Sleeps 16)

Make your reservations now for The Beulah Chalet - modeled after a chalet in Zug, Switzerland. The WiFi and Phone equipped Chalet features a brand new kitchen with custom cabinets, granite countertops, new refrigerator, gas stove/oven, over-the-stove microwave, built in hutch, and kitchen table/chairs. It has wood beamed ceilings, paneled walls on the main floor, three balconies, and a fireplace as the centerpiece of the family room. The Chalet is the perfect place for your summer or winter Northern Michigan getaway!

The Beulah Chalet has room enough for a multi-family vacation, sleeping 10 in four bedrooms with queen size beds and one set of bunk beds, and as many as six more in the built in bunk beds. One of three full bathrooms with shower or shower/tub is located on each floor.

The fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, as well as ample pots, pans, and cookware gadgets will satisfy any gourmet chef. The dining room table provides seating for 6 - 8, and the kitchen seats 4. Two full size Weber grills with charcoal, lighter, and tools are ready to prepare the feast that doesn't belong in the oven. The pantry is stocked with spices, seasonings, oils and vinegars as well as all the other things you'll need to make your favorite meals. There is a crock pot, blender, toaster, and coffee pot in the kitchen.

All linens, towels, and paper products are included in your rental. You will find high count sheets on all beds, plenty of sleeping pillows, and all paper products including paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex, and napkins. Soap and shampoo are in the three bathrooms.

A huge raised deck overlooks a beautiful meadow - deer and turkey can often be seen, and the bird feeder (seed provided) invites lots of birds. The family room with fireplace and upstairs sitting area provide a relaxing place to read, watch HD TV, and visit. The kids will love the built in bunk beds in the 'bunk room' as well as the bunk beds built around the chimney on the third floor. Ann outdoor fire pit in the back yard is perfect for star gazing and making S'mores!

The Beulah Chalet is one block North of Crystal Lake, 2 ½ miles South of the Big Platte Lake, 6 minutes to downtown Beulah, 10 Minutes to Lake Michigan, and 20 minutes to Frankfort. Sleeping Bear Dunes is an easy 20 minute drive North. Several vineyards and wineries are within an easy drive. The Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf resort is 20 minutes away. Two casinos are just 45 minutes away. Traverse City, with all of its attractions, is 45 minutes to the North.

Activities (on site and nearby):

Indoor and outdoor activities abound in and around Beulah. Outdoor activities include several golf courses, fishing (lake and stream), boating, camping, hiking, backpacking, biking, walking trails, snow skiing, cross country skiing, canoeing, putt-putt golf, go-karts, and outdoor water park. Indoor activities include shopping in all the small towns within easy driving distance, shopping at the Traverse City Mall and Outlet Mall, several day spas, vineyards, wineries, and more.

The Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theater in Honor, MI (10 minutes), several excellent restaurants, and two casinos within 40 minutes.

About Chris

We started fishing for Steelhead and Salmon over 25 years ago and fell in love with the Northwest corner of Michigan for fishing and for family trips to see the colors in the fall. Our family and friends have come to love the Chalet as the perfect get away for any season. I hope you will, too.

Chris purchased this house in 2005

Why Chris chose Northern Michigan

The Chalet is located in the middle of where you want to be when you travel to Northwest Michigan. It's a block off Crystal Lake, it's 6 minutes to Beulah, 15 minutes to Lake Michigan, 20 minutes to Crystal Mountain, 25 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the great towns on Leelenau Peninsula, and 40 minutes to Traverse City. Two fishing and canoeing rivers, the Platte and the Betzie, are very close. Frankfort has an A&W, a family favorite, and many other attractions.

What makes this house unique

The Chalet has lots of room and the comforts of your own home to spread out for a very relaxing vacation. It's well equiped with all the kitchen and grilling supplies you need to craft a gourmet dinner or a casual meal. The large deck overlooks a beautiful meadow - if you're lucky the deer and turkeys will pay you a visit!

Perfect Location For Exploring NW Michigan

  • 5 of 5

If you want to explore all the beauty of NW Michigan, the Beulah Chalet is the perfect home base. We have been visiting various locals in NW MI over the past 8 or so years. This chalet puts you right smack in the middle of where you want to be.

As for the Chalet, we enjoyed time on the quite deck and family time around the campfire in the evenings. If you’ve not been north, the stars are amazing! One of my favorite things was sitting on the deck in evening and staring at the amazing night sky illuminated by the countless stars. And, yes you will see shooting stars for sure. The chalet has plenty of space for all and a great stocked kitchen.

The town of Frankfort is on the opposite side of Crystal Lake, what a gem. We spent considerable time in and around Frankfort. It has a great craft brewery called StormCloud; check it out you; will not be disappointed. And Frankfort has the best beach we’ve yet to experience.

Don’t forget to check out Crystal Lake. We rented a pontoon at the local marina to cruise around the lake.

Other close and fun activities:

- Sleeping Bear Dunes (20 minutes away). One of the coolest things you’ll ever experience.

- Winery tours. Trust me one’s more beautiful than the next.

- Fishing charter

- Traverse City (25 minutes away)

- Sun set at Betsey Light House (10 minutes away). Don’t miss at least one sun set there.

Chris, the owner, is a gracious host. Thanks for sharing your slice of NW Michigan!

A great destination for a multi-family ski weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to the Beulah Chalet for a ski weekend with our extended family and as always we had a great time. The house is perfect for our trips and we were pleased that the kitchen has been updated. The Chalet is about 15 minutes away from Crystal Mountain and equidistant for our families from Chicago and Detroit. Another family flew in to Grand Rapids from DC. Our "kids" ranged from age 14 to 24. The bedrooms and bunk rooms are comfortable and easily fit kids young and old as well couples. We enjoyed close-by restaurants in Manitou on Lake Michigan, The Roadhouse and pizza at A Papanos late on Friday night when we arrived or for the kids when the couples went out to eat. The Beulah Chalet is rustic, comfortable, and housed many great memories for families who live across the country but want to find ways to stay and play together. When we ski Crystal Mountain again, we will be back!

WE LOVE THIS PLACE AND COME BACK EVERY YEAR!!

  • 5 of 5

We had another fabulous vacation at The Beulah Chalet!!! The mid September dates we picked, were beautiful and had just about every meal on the large picnic table on the deck. The kitchen has been recently remodeled, and was perfect for all the family cooking. Love the new kitchen!!! The location is perfect for enjoying the great small towns that are in area. We particularly like Frankfort, with all the beach activity and the new Brewery in town. Of course, we explored Sleeping Bear Dunes and saw some of the most amazing views from the top of the Dunes, and enjoyed many great hikes. The location is perfect for whatever interests you. I am sure the trip back to Beulah Chalet will be the highlight of 2016!!! The owners are most gracious!!!

fabulous house, holiday, and owner

  • 5 of 5

Our holiday was wonderful and we regret that we didn't get to spend enough time at the Beulah Chalet (we had youth performing at Interlochen, so we were there to see the shows). From the fire pit, to the quiet property (star gazing at night!), and the great accommodations, we could have stayed there without the kids getting bored--for at least a day! And the kitchen is amazingly stocked for people who like to cook! The house is at an easy distance from Frankfort, Interlochen, and the Dunes. We rented a boat on Crystal Lake, which is a wonderful lake--it looks like the Caribbean with the turquoise colored water. We also went to the drive-in theatre (a must for families!). The house is incredibly welcoming & well-equipped, which made for such an easy transition of being on the road and into a guesthouse. The owner was great to work with and we hope to be able to return next year--for a longer time! Thank you for so many thoughtful details!

Take away some drain issues on to separate days of rental (which I need to add were handled in a timely manner by owner), we had a great stay at the Beulah Chalet! Plenty of space for entire extended family with grandkids enjoying bunk room, viewing of wildlife in meadow from deck, and fires in back yard. New kitchen was very nice my wife loved the cupboards! From the washer, dryer, dishwasher, linens, towels, grills, and other supplies our entire family was impressed feeling right at home! The Chalet is centrally located with many activities for all ages within a short drive or walk. Boated on Crystal Lake many times and Lake Michigan once, hiked sleeping Bear Dunes, shopped in Frankfort/Traverse City, dined at Cherry Hut, and viewed Beulah fireworks. Highly recommend the Chalet for large families to enjoy a "home away from home" made possible by owner. Our group hopes to return in 2017!

Beautiful Beulah Chalet

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations at the Beulah Chalet were outstanding during our visit in August! From the kitchenware/supplies to the towels, linens and detergents, our extended family felt right at home. The Chalet was able to provide for our large group and make use of the lovely deck and view. We saw deer, birds, chipmunks and even stray cows that wandered through the meadow! Bonfires (wood provided) were a treat in the evenings as well as the use of grills provided. It truly felt like home away from home!

Other activities during our stay included canoeing the Platte River, golfing, jet skis, putt putt golf, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, antiquing in Beulah, shopping in Frankfort, breakfast at The Cherry Hut and a delicious dinner at The Manitou Restaurant.

We would highly recommend the Chalet for larger families/groups. The owner has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible!

Owner's Response: Angela, thank you for the review! The Chalet sounds so good I am going to have to get up there myself. I miss it...it has been since March when I was up last. I will be there a lot this fall. Thanks again for your rental and your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Best regards, Chris
