Lovely little hideaway overlooking the river
Wish we could have stayed longer. This was an adorable little place; cozy, clean, and tastefully decorated, and the deck overlooking the Truckee River was a perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely morning cup of coffee.
Although the owners live next door, the place is separate and quite private, and Rachel (owner) was very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
Great Riverfront Location
Stayed here for two nights while fly fishing in the area and visiting Reno. Easy access to Truckee River and other outdoor activities in a quiet, peaceful location. Comfortable space with huge deck overlooking river. Owners are onsite to answer any questions or help with trip planning. Would definitely stay here again.
Compact but comfortable, beautiful area. Very friendly on site family.
Great place to access the Truckee river for swimming or fishing. Cozy unit but comfotable and relatively well stocked (missing bath soap and shampoo, kitchen sponge and baking dish). Very peaceful except for the trains running close by though we were getting used to them after a few days. Great hiking. Easy access to all that Truckee has to offer. Enjoyable young family living next to the unit, very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return!
Beautiful Location Next to the River
Had a wonderful weekend stay at the Hirschdale Hideaway! It is located in a really beautiful part of Truckee, right near the Truckee River, and just a short drive to downtown Truckee. Accommodations were super clean, comfortable, and cozy, and the owners have done a great job with the design and decor. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. Perfect place for resting, relaxing and fishing. The hosts were very friendly and attentive for any needs. We'd be happy to come back soon! :)
Cute and Quiet
We enjoyed our stay at the Hirschdale Hideaway! We were gone for most of the day but spent the peaceful evenings sitting on the deck, watching the trains as they chugged by. The owners, Rachel and Matthew, were very pleasant, and were helpful in directing us around the area.
A note for future guests of this clean and compact cabin:
* The kitchen is quite small - I wouldn't recommend planning any real meal prep. Tiny counter space, no storage, and the fridge is in the bedroom. No problem if you adjust! But the cabinets are high for shorties like me, with no chairs or step-stool to gain access. Thank goodness for my tall husband!
* My husband smokes, so he went across the street. (No smoking allowed near the cabin). He met some very nice people who stopped and said hello! Friendly neighborhood :-)
* Take advantage of the gas station at the local RV park on the corner. It was cheaper and more convenient than the stations in town. They have a mini mart, as well.
I would recommend this hideaway for those who plan on being out-and-about during the day, but then coming back to a quiet place to unwind and rest.
