We had a wonderful time at the little blue cabin!!
Perfect week at the lake
We were delighted with the blue cabin. The cabin was thoughtfully prepared for our arrival with everything one would need for a relaxing few days with the family at the lake. Great fires, kayak rides, and time for relaxing! Very clear water, perfect for swimming in the lake. Highly recommended.
A very nice cabin on a quiet lake
Nicely updated cabin, all the amenities except no local tv. There's a dvd player and monitor. At first no tv bothered us, but after a few days reading, playing cabin games and enjoying the firepit outside, we decided we liked it better that way. This place is pretty quiet, but if you want the touristy stuff and some great restaurants, Crosslake is only 10 minutes away. A lot of good, inexpensive golf courses nearby. The lake is clean, but the beach is a little weedy to swim in. We caught a lot of too small to keep panfish off the dock. Tried to fish from the paddleboat without much luck. This is a nice property and we'd definitely consider it again.
Creating memories at the little Blue Cabin
When we walked into the cabin the first time I was in love with it! It is so adorable! Smells great as well. The Kayaking was awesome as Star lake is calm and not busy. Very clean lake! We brought our fishing boat up and used the access at the Cross lake campground for a $5 fee. We fished on Rush Lake and caught some nice big sunfish. We boated over to Moonlite Bay for a lunch on the deck and then boated around the whitefish chain and it was so fun. A big highlight was an eagle flew low right above the boat. It was the coolest thing. We drove into Nisswa one day to shop the cute shops. We went on a Wednesday so we could see the Turtle Races. That really draws a crowd! In Nisswa we went to Ye Old Pickle Factory and had deep fried pickles that were amazing. :) We also had pizza at Zorbaz one night and it was very good pizza. We had campfires at night and made smores and admired all the stars. We also drove to Itasca State park one day as it has been 50 years since I have been there. It was the perfect up north MN family vacation! Thanks Sara for letting us rent your cabin. We hope to be back. We may bring our bikes next time and hit the trails.
We are so happy that you had a great stay!!! Thanks for the kind words...it sounds like you hit a lot of the hot spots. Love the eagles around here, so beautiful.
Thanks for being such a great renter.
Great family memories at Star Lake!
My family and I had a wonderful time at the "Little Blue Cabin" on Star Lake. The cabin has a spacious open layout and felt bigger than what we expected . It was convenient and nice to have access to the Kayaks, paddle boat, lily pad, and yard games... my kids used all. The cabin was nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, and we liked having a choice between the two fire pits. We enjoyed the proximity to Crosslake and also did some horseback riding near Pine River. It was a great vacation with my family and we would definitely recommend to others.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the horse back riding... how fun!! So happy that the cabin was a nice fit for your family.
Great little house
Wish there was a tv that you could get local weather and news on
