This lovely house with an ocean view is a typical example of Gloucester architecture from the late 1800's. Although some upgrades have been made over the years, the house is in largely original condition. There are wood floors and white painted walls throughout. The furniture is comfortable and includes some antique pieces. The back yard is large and is well equipped with outdoor furniture.
Plum Cove Beach, a small beach from which the sunsets are spectacular, is only 1/10 of a mile down the street. No parking sticker is needed since you can easily carry your beach gear with you! A scenic drive will take you to any part of Gloucester or Rockport in 15 minutes or less.

About Karen Drazen
My husband and I currently live in Eastern Connecticut. I am a retired Montessori Head of School. ('Karen Drazen'). My husband is a carpenter and cabinet maker. Our older son lives in Austin, Texas and our younger son studies birds around the world.
Karen Drazen purchased this House in 2006
Why Karen Drazen chose Gloucester
I have been visiting Gloucester since I was in college in Boston. When my children were born we began renting a cottage here for our summer vacations. When my parents passed away, I used my inheritance to put a down payment on this house. We hope to retire here someday.
What makes this House unique
Our house is a very well preserved 1860's example of the architecture in Gloucester at that time. The house is simply but tastefully decorated and has a well stocked kitchen. The back yard is lovely and offers a view of the ocean and northern MA and southern New Hampshire across the bay.

We loved our stay at this sweet 1860's House
We had a great time at this charming home. We would definitely come back again.
Thank you for the kind words about our house. I hope that Halloween in Salem is everything you hoped it would be!
Perfect place to stay and relax!! Property well maintained and furnished with all a renter could want!
Thanks so much for your kind words. Nothing makes us happier than providing a clean, attractive and well equipped space in which our guests can create lovely memories.
Very relaxing stay.
We enjoyed our stay. The quaint side of Gloucester
Loved waking up to the ocean outside our bedroom window.
I would recommend treads on the stairs to the second floor.
We’d like to return someday.
Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay at our house. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks also for the recommendation regarding putting treads on the wooden stairs. I'm going to look into it!
Well equipped family home
We had a quick 2 night visit to the area for 4 people. The centrally located, out of the hustle and bustle (between Rockport and Gloucester), home met our needs for this brief stay. It would be a better value for a more extended stay, as the cleaning, etc. fees would not be as large a fraction of the overall cost.
Beautiful place and very clean!
A very short walk away from a great beach that is ideal for families. Very close to restaurants and shopping but far enough away to feel part of the outdoors. We would definitely stay again!
great house, walking distance to small public beach that has resident only access. games for kids, comfy beds.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review of our house. Your are welcome to come back any time!
