About Dawn Marie
We first visited Nauvoo in 2004 with our young family. We immediately fell in love with the community, sites, history and the Great Mississippi River! We have been back many times since that first visit, learning more and making new friends each time. It seemed natural to invest in the this area we love and we are thrilled to share this fabulous place with others! Please enjoy your stay in Nauvoo in our home away from home, the Hyrum Smith Farm. There's no better way to enjoy this beautiful and historic area than in the comfort and space of our wonderful vacation home.

We loved the place!
What a great memory for our family. The house is so historic and charming. The large bunk room was perfect for a bunch of boys. They loved the game room. The yard and adjacent park were great fun. Fireflies at night were a bonus.
We did struggle a bit cooking for our bunch with the available pots and pans, but we made do.
We are so glad we stayed ther!
Johnson 50th anniversary
5 families stayed at the home. A wonderful experience! The owner was amazing to work with.
Perfect for a family reunion
Lots of room for all 19 of us. The kids loved the game room and park right across the street. The adults loved the historic details of the property and it’s close location to downtown Nauvoo. Highly recommend!
Coolest place we've ever stayed!
First of all… WOW!! This has got to be the most unique property in the whole Nauvoo area! An 1840’s pioneer home with a two story Civil War brick addition on a real working farm! Our kids didn’t want to leave. We only saw a handful of cars pass by the house the entire time we were there. There’s a park across the street. Bright stars at night, crickets and frogs in the evenings, Cardinals and Blue Jays and Robins in the mornings. Green grass all around with room to play tag and throw balls. We loved sitting on the porch at night watching the kids chase fire flies.
The house was great, the beds were comfy, the kids loved sharing the bunk room with their cousins, staying up late playing games and foosball.
I literally would not stay anywhere else!
We ran into the property managers the day we left. They were putting fresh paint on the house and they told us that sometimes people rent the big barn along with the house for parties and weddings.
Our 2020 Fall Family Reunion will be at the Hyrum Smith Farm in Nauvoo Illinois!! We cancelled our other plans before we left cuz we’re coming back!!
This property is beautiful!!!
Our son and bride to be was looking for an affordable area for their outside wedding and reception. This home and grounds was perfect. The entire wedding party stayed here and was able to decorate while the parents and other family and guests stayed at another one of your properties. You and your staff was very accommodating to our needs and we are very pleased with the entire experience. Nauvoo is a beautiful little town with lots of character, shops and views. Thank you for helping to make our sons wedding just the way they dreamt it would be!!
Thanks Leah!! I'm so glad your son's wedding was so wonderful! The pictures you shared were absolutely gorgeous!! I loved the sight of my old barn in your beautiful family pictures!
